The decor is old school and soothing and the different genres are marked on the outside of the shelves. I was disappointed to not see a dedicated area for horror/weird fiction. I enquired about Lovecraft and the very helpful male staff member told me nothing was in at the moment. He directed me to fantasy/science fiction and I did find a book to my liking. He also found me a small collection of Poe which I also secured for my library. I was also advised that I can let them know of books or authors that I'm seeking and they would let me know if anything comes in. The store is big so I know there is much more for me to explore next visit and they have several cozy sitting areas where you can just read, or have a cup of tea as well. I've ordered books through them and they're good with finding used books and then selling them to me at lower than full price, reasonable price but not max price. They're right next-door to Winans Chocolate & Coffee, so it's really convenient to find a nice little walk, get yourself a nice cup of coffee or hot chocolate, and then go in the back to the reading room between the two and sit down in the corner of the couch and do some reading.

Organized chaos is the term that comes to mind - there were books in every nook and cranny of the space, but grouped by author and type of book. We stayed for over an hour. Great selections for children's books, cozy mysteries, and mysteries in general. Also good selection for any kind of popular fiction author. You are likely to find some hidden gems as well. The downside? Everything is half-price you would imagine in an old used book store like this you could get a paperback for a dollar or so. Not here. I just spent nine dollars on four ratty paper backs from the 80s. I had a much bigger stack of books to purchase until I discovered that everything was half price. I assumed everything would be under two dollars. I put back much of what I was holding. Any type of paperback that has been released in the last 20 years will easily cost you 3 to 4 dollars no matter the condition it's in. Hardback books are the same, half price so they will cost you easily $10 or more each. no matter how old or the condition there in. Not the place to come if you are book shopping on a budget. I recommend this place for collectors who maybe are looking for hidden gems to complete collections, but not so much for the budget book shopper.
