The technician created a basic workaround to get my DS18 BTC-Five Bluetooth receiver working via…read moreaux, but the setup was incomplete and poorly wired. After the install: I lost power to my 12V lighter socket, so I couldn't charge my phone. He mostly likely tapped into the same circuit as the lighter socket, causing power loss (Yeah. He didn't warn me about that before the install!) The audio was also making intermittent Bluetooth pairing failures. I would be driving and then music would stop and start again. Bluetooth phone calls stopped working--only music streamed. The install skipped key components I provided, including the fuse tap, LOC, and amp integration What I learned--and what others should know: The 3.5mm aux jack on the BTC-Five is audio-only and doesn't support calls To restore full functionality, the fuse tap must be moved to a different ACC slot so the lighter circuit isn't interrupted. For Bluetooth calls, you need to use the BTC-Five's RCA outputs and route them through a head unit or amp that supports hands-free calling. If I had known all this upfront, I probably would've skipped the install entirely and just kept using my regular USB-C to 3.5mm Audio Aux Cable Adapter. It was simpler, reliable, and didn't disable anything in my car. No wonder the guy had a weird vibe! I would have given them 5 stars if they had wired correctly, but the job was rushed and sloppy. He didn't create a solution. He created a problem! Now I'm going to have to get my brother to help me fix this. He said the tech most likely installed the tap with only one fuse (for the BTC-Five). Or inserted it backwards, cutting off power to the original circuit. Or used a single-slot tap, which reroutes power entirely to the new device. This experience taught me how to reclaim my install and turn shortcuts into teachable upgrades. If you're integrating amps or planning full audio control, skip the aux hack and wire it properly. I wasn't impressed with this install. What a total waste of money!!!!!!

He's an absolute top-notch guy -- super friendly, professional, and knows his stuff inside and out. His pricing on materials and labor was super fair, and he got the parts quickly so he could knock out the install fast. What really stood out was his dedication: he drove two hours each way (four hours round trip!) to come to me in Prescott on a Saturday. It started raining as soon as he began heading this way, and he never once complained. He just focused on taking care of me as a customer. Just not a good experience. I do not know much (really not anything at all) about car stereo…read moresystems. I came in explaining I need help in what to do with a classic car I just purchased in which I had professionally installed all new gauges and even an entirely new dashboard. It was a fresh start as I had a brand new opening in a brand new dash for just begging for a brand new radio to be installed. The same for all the speakers which I had all removed so there were open places, again, just waiting for new ones to be installed. Again, I came in at ground zero wanting a fresh start asking for advice on what I need, a recommendation for all new components that meets my listening needs and a quote. I got only the quote. The pricing was extremely high and I had no understanding of why each component was recommended, therefore what value it had. Nothing was written out and I could only keep up with and remember half of what was spinning through my brain. I am sure the employees are very good at what they do, but unless you already know all the nomenclature, slang and have extensive knowledge of stereo systems, you will probably leave saying "let me think about it" and never return . . . as I did. What a shame as I do truly believe this company has the knowledge and experience.
