I reached out to Audio Experts for a straightforward install -- I already had a brand-new DS18 BTC-Five Bluetooth receiver and all the necessary components (LOC, fuse tap, RCA cables). I wasn't shopping for a new system, just needed help getting mine installed. Unfortunately, the technician told me they couldn't do it because my factory stereo "wasn't meant for cars," and that the receiver was "only for motorcycles." That's simply not accurate. I contacted Nissan directly, and they confirmed my stereo is upgradeable. The DS18 BTC-Five is absolutely compatible with cars, but it requires proper installation. Instead of helping with the install, he pivoted to selling me a new system. While I appreciate that they responded and offered a solution, it felt more like a sales pitch than technical support. Their motto mentions honesty, flexibility, and expertise -- but my experience didn't reflect that. If you're bringing your own gear, just be aware the technician may steer you toward buying something new. This review is meant to be educational, not just critical. I needed an aftermarket Android Auto/CarPlay module pulled from my 2014 E350 W212 Mercedes on very short notice, and they absolutely crushed it. The work was impeccable--fast, precise, and they bent over backwards to fit my schedule. If you know the W212, that center console is no joke, and the cup-holder/ashtray cover is infamous for breaking--super finicky. They navigated it flawlessly: not a single scratch, and they even fixed a couple small issues at no extra cost. Incredible skill and attention to detail. Bottom line: measure twice, cut once--it's always smarter to hire a real professional than risk messing it up yourself. Which was excellent. The service took about 2 hrs and everything was made sure to be in working order as requested. This includes the head unit, steering wheel controls, radio, microphone, and backup camera. There was a hiccup with installation, resulting in the need to purchase a separate part. Selected Audio Experts for a complete new nav/stereo, camera based on a phone conversation with Manny. He scheduled my installation during the conversation working around his schedule and my pending surgery. He arrived at my home on time, with all the necessary equipment, parts, and tools. I Contacted them a little under 2 weeks in advance to get a quote for a suprise Mother's Day install of a Car Play Stereo. Initially Audio Experts was quick to communicate and eager to help. Everything was set up and ready to install the day before Mother's day. The Tuesday before the install (literally only 4 days before) I got a call and message from them that they gps'ed the location and didn't realize it was as far as it was (for reference, the install is in Chino Valley) which was presented when discussing them traveling to do the install. He then told me that was farther than he usually goes and wanted to charge more money for the work (as he didn't think he would be able to do more jobs that day with the far drive). I told him all of this information was already given and its the week of the install. He said he would get back with me on the updated quote, which was an additional 300 dollars for the travel. I spoke to him again about the 300 being excessive and asked to go down to $150. He continued to tell me how it was farther than he thought and it was putting him in a bind (which as the customer, I do not believe is my fault). He asked if I would move the install any earlier in the day (we chose afternoon as it is supposed to be a gift and not a hastle for the one who is receiving it). I explained the circumstance with them and that we needed it in the afternoon and couldn't budge on the already agreed time for install (I did give him a two hour window that was already out of my comfort zone of time). the Audio Expert personal said that they were trying to find another job in the area to make it "worth it" for them. I told them to try to book the other job in the morning so that we can have the alloted afternoon time, as was initially agreed. I do not think this is a discussion I should be having with the company that should be handling their own scheduling and commitments. He then got back to me on Wednesday NIGHT (now 3 days before the install) to say he would only charge me the $150 if I agreed to move the install to Tuesday instead of the agreed day, Saturday. I was very hopeful of the business with the confidence that was initially expressed and the knowledge they showed, however since the beginning of this week it has not been a good experience. They have not been customer minded and have instead tried to get me to bend to what would work better for them, after a mistake they made on the distance the order would be through. I understand things happen, but I do not find it acceptable for it to be so close to the scheduled install (especially when it is known to be a Mother's Day gift for the recipient) and have us pay in more time and money for it to work for them over the customer. I'm very disappointed and am willing to work with them on the agreed amount, but will most likely be looking for someone else to do this instead. read more
