The technician created a basic workaround to get my DS18 BTC-Five Bluetooth receiver working via aux, but the setup was incomplete and poorly wired. After the install: I lost power to my 12V lighter socket, so I couldn't charge my phone. He mostly likely tapped into the same circuit as the lighter socket, causing power loss (Yeah. He didn't warn me about that before the install!) The audio was also making intermittent Bluetooth pairing failures. I would be driving and then music would stop and start again. Bluetooth phone calls stopped working--only music streamed. The install skipped key components I provided, including the fuse tap, LOC, and amp integration What I learned--and what others should know: The 3.5mm aux jack on the BTC-Five is audio-only and doesn't support calls To restore full functionality, the fuse tap must be moved to a different ACC slot so the lighter circuit isn't interrupted. For Bluetooth calls, you need to use the BTC-Five's RCA outputs and route them through a head unit or amp that supports hands-free calling. If I had known all this upfront, I probably would've skipped the install entirely and just kept using my regular USB-C to 3.5mm Audio Aux Cable Adapter. It was simpler, reliable, and didn't disable anything in my car. No wonder the guy had a weird vibe! I would have given them 5 stars if they had wired correctly, but the job was rushed and sloppy. He didn't create a solution. He created a problem! Now I'm going to have to get my brother to help me fix this. He said the tech most likely installed the tap with only one fuse (for the BTC-Five). Or inserted it backwards, cutting off power to the original circuit. Or used a single-slot tap, which reroutes power entirely to the new device. This experience taught me how to reclaim my install and turn shortcuts into teachable upgrades. If you're integrating amps or planning full audio control, skip the aux hack and wire it properly. I wasn't impressed with this install. What a total waste of money!!!!!! read more

This is a great shop. The last time I went there was almost 20 years ago. I went back and had the stereo replaced in my Chevy Silverado for a modern Alpine and added a back up camera. My amplifier was stolen and I bought a new one, I took to Sun Valley. I met Ryan DeWitt, not an open and friendly guy. He gave me an estimate for re-wiring my system that had been pieced together by different people, but worked before incompetent people worked on it. He gave me an estimate I thought was high but made the appt thinking he was going to rewire my system "from speakers to radio", including from the battery, even tho that part worked well. Over time I have had many competition stereos in several vehicles and some of what he told me when I went to drop it off sounded suspicious, like the cable from the battery needed replacing even though it didn't and worked well over time. He said from speakers didn't mean literally from the speakers but from the end of the speaker wires. The more they explained what they were actually going to do seemed like most of it didn't need to be done regardless of them telling me it did. I stopped the install and took my car home and installed the 4 channel amp myself in about 20 mins with the wires that were already there. I feel like I stopped the steal. When I wanted to go over the job again with the new details he told his people to get out of my car and me to get out. I don't think he is honest, he sold me work that wasn't needed at prices that seemed really high based on my history with other installs. read more

These guys were awesome. I took my old 2005 truck there, complaining about noise distortion in my front speakers. I mentioned I thought it could be a vibration issue. Meanwhile, I picked out a new deck to bring my truck into the present with Android Auto. We picked out new speakers in case there was an issue. When they called only a few hours later, much to my happiness they said I was right and were able to reinstall my existing speakers with some extra dynamat. When I picked up the car, the speakers sounded awesome like they used to. My original sound system is on the higher end.
