I can't say enough wonderful things about RAE Beauty Company! From the very first consultation I had with Rae back in the summer, I felt like I'd found a true gem. Rae (the owner) is both personable and professional. She truly knows her craft. When I first walked in, I was feeling down about my hair changes due to my health, and Rae didn't just give me a hair consultation, she gave me a safe space to vent and feel heard. It was like talking to a sister who just happened to be a hair expert. Rae was so thoughtful, giving me great advice on what would and wouldn't work for my hair in my situation, and suggesting alternatives that made me feel confident again. It was a blend of a consultation and a much needed mini-therapy session. You just don't get that kind of warmth and genuine care everywhere. On top of that, my stylist Princess was equally amazing. She's professional, skilled, and just so easy to talk to. I LOVE her personality! She explained every step, listened to my preferences, and made me feel like I'd known her forever. The whole salon atmosphere is welcoming, calm, and so comfortable. It's a beautiful well lit salon with a zen like atmosphere. Even the hair washing bowls and chairs are designed in a way that put my mom at ease, which is a HUGE DEAL for us. At 84, she's particular about comfort now that's she's dealing with a spinal issue. The day that I had my hair done, Princess brought her to the sinks so she could test out whether or not she would be able to withstand the hair washing/ rinsing process. She left that day feeling hopeful. She had her hair relaxed today and she left feeling absolutely pleased and pain-free. In short, if you're looking for a place that treats you like family, knows their stuff, and leaves you feeling beautiful inside and out, RAE Beauty Company is it. I highly recommend them! But the availability and organization is what I appreciate the most. Its hard to find a stylist thats available now with no bs. If you are looking for consistency I would say this is a good location. I am a new customer and i plan on staying for my routine cuts and silk presses. The ladies detangled my hair with no hesitation. ( Ladies be realistic about what you bring into these salons). They do advise of any upcharge, no surprises. I was in no denial abt the wreckage I caused during these past few months. Curls are springier but my hair looks and feels a lot thinner than it did before I cut it. I don't like how I still have a short, triangular top layer with a bottom layer that goes inward, giving it a mushroom-like appearance. The right side of my hair is not only thin to the point where I can see through my layer, it's noticeably shorter than the left. I regret getting a deva cut because I'll now need to spend twice the time growing it out in hopes of fixing my hair and re-trimming/cutting it. It felt great to have a conversation with Michelle about products and styling techniques to improve my styling methods from season to season. Her office is super chic and very clean. We both wore masks for the duration of the appointment. I described what I wanted and showed her a photo, and she matched it EXACTLY. First, she performed a beautiful dry cut with a round, super layered shape. I was excited to get washed using Olaplex products for the first time ever. She styled using multiple products to form a cast. I went under the dryer and diffuse, and voila! Shiny, healthy, layered, elongated curls! She helped me wrap my hair because (my luck) it was storming the day of my cut. I woke up the next morning and decided to do a quick restyle after dealing with the weather! Well.. HOLY. COW. All I did was re-wet and diffuse upside down, and the round, voluminous cut came alive. The layering is so perfect that the cut revitalized my curls! I will never go to a "curly salon" again as long as I can keep Michelle!

Masks were required, my temperature was checked, hand-washing was required upon entry, no one was allowed to wait in the waiting room, and Arianna also wore a face shield while cutting my hair. She helped turn what was a bit of a nerve-wracking experience into something that made me feel great. Arianna is also very thorough and great at sussing out what you want for your hair - we had a chat beforehand to make sure we were on the same page. Length and texture are exactly how I wanted it - which is tricky since I went in for a big cut (5+ inches.) If you are considering getting a hair cut, SEE ARIANNA! She is amazing :)
