My son started at Creative Kids in Hutto almost a year ago and we have seen him flourish! He truly is so happy at drop off and pick up. The teachers are kind and watchful, and give actual instruction. They read multiple engaging books daily. They sing songs and play games. There's real learning going on and it's evident in my son everyday. The curriculum and daily activities are impressive, even for the two year olds. My son comes home with art, math, and writing activities that he's done that day. The facility is clean (you can smell it!) The classrooms have tools for imaginative play and learning. IF YOUR CHILD ATTENDED BEFORE JULY 16, 2021 THEN PAY ATTENTION!!! My son was constantly being bitten and getting injured, that wasn't the issue, I know little kids bite sometimes and toddlers are wild. The issue was that nobody seemed to know how or what happened. There is a huge supervision issue, at least in the afternoon. My final straw was when my three year old son came home one day and told me that another kid who I won't name that he had took off my sons diaper and and was touching his private and behind. I was in shock, my son always tells me when things happen to him at school but this was just insane and I didn't know what to believe. The next day at pickup I had asked his teacher about it, she said she didn't know anything about that so we left. Two steps away she comes back out and said word for word, "Actually, I've been hearing other kids saying the same thing, talk to the director tmrw". I just couldn't believe other kids were saying the same thing and this was not brought to anybody's attention. The next morning on July 14 I talked to the director about it and she said she would look into it, did not send my son to school that day. The next day she let my sons dad know that she looked into it and said kid will be expelled. Did not deny or confirm the sexual abuse. Teacher that was there during incident still works there and no parents were told. Today i got a message which i'll attach to this review. We had 4 unpaid weeks since the beginning of the year which I'm fine paying, but they are threatening me to pay the 30 days after I pulled him out and then I was blocked after mentioning the incident. read more

My son went here for just over a month. He was injured twice, one time I picked him up and he was actively bleeding from facial wounds. The teacher couldn't tell me what happened nor had they cleaned his injury. He had dried blood on his shirt and fresh blood on his hands. The second time he had cuts on his face and under his eye. The owner didn't seem alarmed that the teacher had no idea what happened. Stories didn't add up. Cuts were not cleaned, reports were not filled out. Cares were not given. No mas. read more

PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS DAYCARE!!! I had a terrible experience with my 2 year old here. The first thing that happened was my daughter being sent home with scratches/bruises and no incident report. The next problem I had was when I went to pick up my daughter and all the kids and adults were outside on the playground. It was 58 degrees and every single person (kids and adults) was wearing a jacket except for my daughter. When I asked Heather (director at the Hutto facility) why she wasn't wearing a jacket she didn't answer me and immediately changed the subject telling my my daughter bit someone today. When I asked again why she didn't have a jacket, she basically couldn't tell me! Then she said oh I thought her vest was her jacket. It was sleeveless along with her short sleeve shirt. It was very obvious to any functioning human being that this was not a jacket. My daughter's arms were freezing and her cheeks were red. She was cold out there and no one did anything about it or even noticed!!! When I asked Jackie (the owner) about it she said "we didn't know if she had a jacket and we couldn't go inside to check because we had to stay in ratio of teacher to kids". So I guess it's more important to them to stay in ratio rather than the health and well being of the children. The final straw was when I picked up my daughter, came home and started to change her diaper. I was appalled. Someone had changed her (as the diaper was clean) and not wiped her all the way and there was poop leftover in both of her leg cracks and in the middle crack if you know what I mean!!!!!! Absolutely disgusting. That can cause females to get infections!!! The next day I called to talk to the owner Jackie about it and that's when everything went ridiculous. The owner barely let me speak, she tried to tell me my daughter probably "sharted" on the way home and basically denied what happened. When I sent her the photo evidence I had she said she deleted it immediately and couldn't even look at it bc it was considered child pornography. She told me that I had been difficult in the past (the jacket incident) and she continued to tell me my daughter was being removed from the daycare!!!!! I was shocked. Instead of addressing and/or trying to solve the problem, they just swept it under the rug. They kicked my daughter out of their daycare because of their own mistakes. Both Heather and Jackie are incredibly rude people who do not care about the wellbeing of the children who attend. To be completely honest, I am so appalled by the horrible business practices the directors of the school provide. At first I absolutely loved the school, Miss Heather was a sweetheart would email me on my child and her well-beings; anytime I called Miss Jackie would aways answer very pleasantly and inform me how my child was doing throughout the day if I had any questions. We had open lines of communication and the school was doing great for my family. At first my daughter was supposed to be a full-time student however because I am in EMS and I'm a medic in the Austin area my schedule changed, which Miss Heather did go out as a courtesy and allow me to change my schedule within 30 days and without a written notice to better suit my needs. However my daughter was only going to school two days a week, and instead of paying $140 for full-time pay I was being charged $120 for two days a week. It didn't make any sense, and in quite a few different emails and face-to-face conversations I tried to see if that was correct if it was accurate. I was told that because I am in EMS full time tuition was discounted to $140 and that yes two days a week would be charged $120. I went along with this for about a month until I decided to look over the welcome packet and realized that two days a week is a $90 charge. Although it was concerning to me that I was being overcharged, my biggest concern is this throughout the time my daughter was there there was a few different instances that concerned me, one in which she had a huge scratch on her face that went from her eye to almost her lip, nice pretty decent gouge that bled, and none of the teachers knew what happened. OK so kids get hurt sometimes I forgave it. The next thing that concerned me was that my husband pointed out was at my daughter school work was to pencil whipped all of the letters were perfect all of the lines were almost completely straight circles we're done almost perfectly, I might add that she's three years old and her work it look like something that an adult would do. When I asked about that I was told that they do hand over hand practices but you did not know my daughter was a left-handed student. Another concern of mine was that when I dropped her off early in the morning, unless there was a skunk living in the back rooms, it smelled like marijuana and fabreze. When talking to the director Miss Heather, her eyes were very glazed and she couldn't look you straight in the eye, some could pass it off as allergies, however we were all young once, and I'm pretty sure we all know what marijuana smells like and what happens to your eyes and your mentality when you smoke it. Another concern of mine I was told that I'm packing too much food for my child to eat throughout the day because the school does not provide any meals, juice, milk, anything whatsoever other than water, which I'm totally fine with; at least I know what my child is consuming, however I asked why is her lunch and her snack circled with all on her daily report if I am packing her too much food. I was told that they throw the food away and that they always circle most or all on all students. Now here's of the bad business practices come in, my husband called to set up a meeting with Miss Jackie and Miss Heather to discuss our tuition and some of our concerns that we have about our child's well-being at the facility. Miss Heather would not set up a meeting instead insisted on arguing with him about emails that she and I emailed back-and-forth about how many days my daughter was to be going to school whether it was two or three and that the charge was accurate. After my husband got off the phone with her he called me to let me know of how that conversation was unsuccessful. I called Miss Heather, tried talking to her, she again insisted on arguing with me and at that point I decided to withdraw my daughter, I know that you have to have a 30 day notice to withdraw a student from the school so I told her over the phone that my daughter's last day would be 30 days from our conversation as of that day, I also asked her if she like me to email her a written statement saying that my daughter was to be drawn in 30 days. She answered me yes, we ended our conversation over the phone. I then emailed her the notice and screenshot a picture stating how many days my daughter would be attending school from the very beginning where all this confusion took place about a month and a half ago. Instead of her being a school director and keeping her professionalism and saying not a problem her last day is on this day and moving forward she decided to screenshot a question that I sent her regarding my daughters days and if they were to change and continue to argue with me over email. I told her that I understand that some schools are greedy and that sometimes it's difficult to determine the difference between a question and a statement. Please don't ever take your child to this facility. The owner Jackie is highly disrespectful and rude! My daughter was there for 4 months and there were several incidents that took place. We found a tick in my daughters hair due to the woodchips in the school yard. When I contacted the owner she didn't have anything to say except they have someone spray the wood down monthly with insecticide. My husband has a background with dealing with chemicals like that and he said if she was doing that, she would have been required to notify the families and not allow the children out in the playground during that time. My daughter ended up with a horrible rash that ended up resulting in us taking her to the doctor to get an antibiotic to help her heal. Our daughter also contracted pneumonia at her facility and this was confirmed with the ER Doctor that seen her. We have written documentation from that ER Doctor. We are using that report from that Doctor and are providing it to the Department of Family and Protective Services for them to inspect that facility. We took her for her follow up visit with her family doctor and she confirmed that this pneumonia was rare to see and she most likely got it from the daycare facility. She cleans her facility with fabulouso which is not an antibacterial cleaner or any kind of disinfectant cleaner. Its sole purpose is to provide a clean smell. Lastly, I had no intent on posting this. All we were going to do was provide this documentation to the Department of Family and Protective Services so they can do their report and ensure other children are safe and taken care of. However, when I called to ask about a Tax ID #, Jackie stated that she had no idea what it was and that I would need to contact her accountant. She was very irritated when talking with me and I informed her that we needed this information for our taxes. I also let her know we removed our daughter from her facility due to her contracting Pneumonia at her facility and her response to me was "you should take better care of your child"! I asked her if I need to call the police to go over there with me and she hung up on me. Then she started sending me text message after text message saying that she was contacting the police and that I was not welcome at her facility and to not contact her. This is outrages and ridiculous that she tried to attack me as a mother because she doesn't want to give me her Tax ID for me to file the money I paid her for child care. Not recommended! read more

Same thing has happened to my child that two others have stated in reviews! Too many kids in one class, they count the director Karen as a teacher when she's not actually supervising kids in the room, Then the unhealthy home lives of other kids--these kids are hitting everyone's child.. So in turn my kid thinks it's "ok" to hit. It's NOT ok. The owner-Jackie - wasn't concerned at all. Didn't apologize. Acted like it wasn't a big deal that my child was punched in the face..he has a black eye, with small bruises and scratches, all around his eye! I asked to be informed if anything ever happens like that again, she said she'd let Karen (the director) know. I told her "ok, thank you! Have a nice day", she says "ok" and hangs up.. NO PEOPLE SKILLS AT ALLLLLLL!!!! That's bad for business..but since they accept government assistance (I'm all for kids getting their education though!) she doesn't care because she knows she'll have the spot filled in a day, so she can get paid & buy another Cadillac! No one calls to inform...I just find things out when I get there to pickup. I never get a copy of incident reports either. That's not ok. There was a biter kid when my son first started..he was FINALLY kicked out and was back a month later. Again, not ok! He's apparently acting out from his home life too, according to the teachers..UMMM ok? So it's ok for him to hit and bite others?? It's terrible..worst daycare yet! However I have ONE positive thing - Cindy (1 of the teachers) is great..I lovvve her! She and a couple other teachers are truly great. But please don't send your child here..check the state site for this daycare too..lots of incidents and complaints filled!! It's because the owner and director could careless about your child..it's all about money & numbers! That's MY baby that I'm trusting them with, they have attitudes over the phone, in person as well, and their "locking door" doesn't even lock shut..the house moves I guess Is what I've been told..but the door doesn't shut properly, ever. read more

I have been with Creative Kids since my son was 2 years old. He is about to graduate pre-k with them this 2015 year. We love Karen and the teachers at the Round Rock location. The unfortunate thing is, they had to combine the Hutto school and Round Rock school. Hutto is about 15 minutes out of the way for me, but I decided that the best thing for my son would be to continue his stay there till he starts kindergarten. We have been going to the Hutto location for 2 weeks, and I can tell my son is happier, and the teachers are so friendly. I am very pleased with what he has been taught during his school stay. I know I can call Karen at any time and she will tell me how my son is doing. At the end of every day, I get to talk with his teacher he has had all day, Ms. Shan, who is great and very friendly. read more

My son has been attending the Hutto location since he was 9 months old, he is now 23 months. He is in the toddler group. Today was the first day that I was disrespected by the manager of this site. She blamed me if anything happened to my son on their property even though other parents leave the front door open and the gate to the building. She even told me that any issues need to go through her and not talk to her staff. Heather is unprofessional and extremely rude, she even brought another parent into our conversation. My issue is she is not watching my child when I drop him off in the morning and let him roam around the center. This happened 3 times this week alone. I did not have these issues with the other manager Melissa. Heather needs to go back to Pflugerville or resign. She does not care about the safety of the children. I am a parent of a 2 year old boy who us in the toddler room. His teacher is wonderful! My son has learned so much about A,B,C and numbers, colors, shapes, ect. He also talks all the way home about his fun art projects he gets to do every day. He has great friends ans all togethwr wonderful friendly environment. I also have my 4 month old son here in the baby room. Crystal and Cindy are such sweet caring teachers and work very hard to keep all the babies happy and entertained. They keep every thing very organized and clean. And ech baby has there own bed. This place is simply amazing! Their rates are affordable, the atmosphere through out the daycare is so clean and organized and the teachers are so communicative in regards to any issues, needs or daily activities of my children. I love the outdoor playground. They have one side for the toddlers to play safely at and then another side for the older kids. Creative Kids in located in a great spot as well as the hours that they are open to care for my kids while I'm working! I give this place 5 stars! More if it was a option (haha) Check it out! Jackie...the one who answers when you call the Hutto location is a total spaz...refused to meet with me after I told her I had several concerns I wanted to talk to her about, of course she was "too busy"...who isn't lady? With a very rude tone of voice, I might add. Never called me back to follow up on the situation after I explained things to her on the phone. I kindly asked her to reconsider giving me the $165 deposit I put down for my daughter. Under the circumstances and because my daughter had only been there twice and already several concerns came up I actually thought she might do the right thing and return it to us. And when I called her back this morning (5/7/13) she started yelling at me and said she was not giving me the deposit back. So much for her being a decent human being. I would NOT recommend this preschool for any child unless you want your child to sneak out of the front door. I was told by Karen, the Director for this location, that it didn't lock from the inside so they had a long ribbon tied around the knob with bells on it so they would hear if the door opened. which I don't know how they would ever hear the bells anyway...the front of the building is always empty...well, the 2 days that I was there it was. How are you going to hear the bells on the front door if there isn't anybody in the front to hear it? I would NOT recommend this preschool unless you wanted the front door to the building left open for any sicko to go right on in as it was when I went to pick up my child on a Thursday afternoon. As you can see, security issues at this place are down right horrible! I would NOT recommend this preschool unless you wanted made up daily reports with a made up memorable moment included on it for your child. They sent home a daily report for my daughter on a day that she wasn't even there!! Great attention they have, huh?! Turns out that the daily reports are already filled out for the week and the child's name is added to each one in the afternoon. Here's another lack of attention example, I wasn't asked to sign my daughter in or out until I went to pick her up early for a dentist appointment...same day that the door was left open. All this in just one week...and they expect me to give a 30 day notice and pay tuition before we leave. Are you kidding me?? I wouldn't have been comfortable leaving my daughter there for one more day. Not with a peace of mind anyway. Karen and the teachers there are nice people, they were always pleasant. It is just NOT acceptable to me that they have such issues with security and send my daughter home with a memorable moment that never happened. Jackie, on the other hand, is one rude woman. and I am happy to know that I will not be dealing with her, ever. I'm actually thankful that all this happened in the first week...I can't imagine what else would have gone on had my daughter been there longer. That's a scary thought. read more

Love this place! We actually go to the Pflugerville location and all the teachers are great! Miss Heather (Director), Miss B., Miss Brianna, and Miss Desarea. Miss Jackie, the owner, is at the Hutto location but she was great helping us get registered and giving us a great price and whenever I call I talk to her and she is always available and helpful. The place is always so clean and organized. You do have to pack your own food because they don't cook or have a fridge for you to store it but it's not big deal and I prefer it because it keeps the price down and I can choose what my kids eat. I love how small and personal this place is. We know all the kids and all the teachers and they all know us. Even the kids will go tell my kids "your mommy and daddy are here!" when they see us :) The teachers are always very welcoming and helpful. We got into a pretty good car accident right outside of the daycare one day and called to say the kids, ages 3 & 2 weren't going to be there. They were not seriously injured just some scrapes but I had to go to the hospital and my husband was worried about me and trying to deal with the police. Jackie was so nice on the phone telling us that she was thinking of us and to let her know how everybody was feeling afterwards. Heather even came out to check on us and was able to talk the kids into coming with her so we could deal with stuff and sent us texts throughout the day updating us on the kids and checking on us. We were looking for childcare for my daughter. I called Creative Kids and spoke to what sounded like a very friendly and welcoming person. I told them my daughters age and they told me they had one spot available and welcomed me in for a tour. I set it up for 3:30pm because I worked and had to pick up my son from his bus stop at 3:10. I show up at 3:25 and a lady answered the door. I told her I was here for my 3:30 appt. She very rudely answers back "it was at 3!" And says she was about to leave but guess she'll stay for the tour all while rolling her eyes. I should've taken this as my sign to leave. I signaled my husband and kids to go ahead and get down for the tour. She had the worst attitude. Walked me over to the class my daughter would be in and says well I was about to let this teacher leave too but I guess I'll just make her wait too. She didn't even attempt to give any type of tour. She pointed into the classroom and said this is where she'll be. Asked for my daughters age. I told her. And then she said "oh we don't even have any space for that age, sorry." I told her about my conversation 2 days prior where I was confirmed there was space and we could begin ASAP. She said I must have gotten "confused" and they had no space for us, then showed us to the door. I have never been so disgusted with a place of business. I'm so glad I saw all of this up front and didn't put my poor child through such a harsh environment. And after reading the reviews on here it seems like that was the best decision I could ever make. read more

My husband and myself absolutely love this center in Hutto. We are so glad that we found it for our daughter. She has grown so much since starting. I love riding home and hearing her in the back seat singing her colors in Spanish or even more recently the Halloween songs. The curriculums is pretty amazing and you can see they follow it by what your child is learning. All the staff are amazing and so friendly. You can tell they love working with the children. The director is always on site and many times you can also find her in the classroom interacting with the kids. One of my favorite things about the center is how clean it it! You do not find that every where you go. They hardly have any kids out sick and you can see why, everything is cleaned with bleach or Lysol. We are so glad to have found this place for our daughter and would highly recommend it to everyone! I have 2 children going to Creative Kids in Hutto. They both go 5 days a week and love it. They have learned alot already and have on been going there since August of 2013. Our daughter is in the 4-5 year old building and the teachers there are great. Our son is in the 2-3 year old classroom and he loves all the teachers also. It is a great feeling to have when you can go to work and know both of your toddlers are in an environment that is safe and the teachers treat them as their own children. All the teachers are very loving,caring and knowledgeable. When I had a concern reguarding another parent, I called and spoke with owner Ms. Jackie and she took care of it right away. She was very pleasant to talk to and took my concern with great care. We absolutely love this school. read more

My daughter started attending creative kids in Hutto full time at 3 years old. She goes five days a week and attends the before and after preschool daycare portion of the program. I am so grateful for all of the teachers at Creative kids. She is currently in the 4 year old class with the director Ms. Becky, the assistant director Ms. Barb, and Ms. Debra. She loves going to school every day and can't wait to get there. She has never cried when I dropped her off or mention that it is time to go to school. In fact she cries when it's the weekend and there is no school. These people have been such a blessing to our family. I can't stress enough how good it feels to go to work and know that someone actually cares for my child almost as much as I care for my child. My daughter tells me every day she loves her teachers, it really is such a great feeling. Every day she brings home the stuff they work on with her. She is learning a letter each day and a number each day. She also will learn about other things such as animals, colors, shapes, etc. It really is nice to know that she is actively learning and not just being watched as in sitting in front of a TV. The cost for this facility is very reasonable compared to other facilities and programs in the area. I do pack all of my child's snacks and meals as they do not provide this but I prefer this so I know I can pack what she likes and what I know she will eat. I am so grateful to all of the staff here at Hutto Creative Kids, I could not go to work and perform my job to the best of my ability if I thought for a second my children were not getting proper and loving care they deserve at such a young age. It's really hard to go to work every day and leave the care of your child in someone else's hands, but with Creative Kids I have always had peace of mind. Our daughter went there for 1 year. The teachers and kids were awesome, I can't say that enough, the school was clean and just picture perfect! However the 2 owners are as different as night and day, which caught us as very strange. One is sweet and caring, seems to love what she does, and does most of the work while the other is rude, unprofessional, makes comments about our daughter and others completely unwarranted, gangs up on parents and mothers and she just has a very negative persona, while pretending to be nice. A few times when my daughter was hurt they didn't fill out the paperwork they should for an accident as req by law, they pretended they didn't see it and it didn't happen while she was bleeding, right before Christmas pictures, I was so upset. When I made an issue of why wasn't a accident report filled out, I got a very cold shoulder from the rude owner, she ignored me when I would drop my daughter off at school, and she made rude comments to the teacher that was subbing at the time this happened and to others like I was lying my daughter was hurt or they should have been filling out a form and watching a bleeding child. The feeling I got, was how dare she tell me to follow the law, this is my school! The whole way this situation played out was lots of gossiping and lies being spread over our leaving to other potential mothers by this owner. I would NEVER suggest this school solely based on our experiences with that owner. If she wasn't there, I would definitely still have our daughter there and recommend the school to everyone I know. It's unfortunate when a high school "bully" is running a preschool, very unfortunate. But if this review can prevent one family from spending a lot of money to take there kids there and having this happen, I'm glad I wrote it!
