Recently I experienced knee pain and swelling and along with physical therapy, ICE and rest I…read moreimmediately sought acupuncture treatments from Dr. Kong. My physical therapist and care provider agreed this would be helpful for me as well. I can recommend Dr. Kong because of my own experience. Within 1-2 sessions my knee felt better. I also have had cupping for my upper and lower back pain which resolved with cupping the day of the session. He also will use a Chinese infrared heat lamp concurrently in my session along with the acupuncture which has been very helpful to relieve pain as well. He will use as many acupuncture sites, or modalities such as using cupping as well as the heat lamp if necessary I have found within the same session. This is a bonus I think. I have found that for me that his acupuncture treatments also help to relieve insomnia, constipation, fatigue, and anxiety. He is so patient, answers all my questions and I always feel that he understands what relief I need. I have gone to see him over the years for multiple issues and have felt better over time. Regular routine treatments with him I feel have helped improve my general health. I will continue to be a patient of his. He makes the room very comfortable for me as I am often on the cold side. He brings an extra heater into the room. His office is very quiet and relaxing. I always feel so relaxed after one of his acupuncture sessions. I highly recommend Dr. Kong . He also gives you a complete hour of treatment which I have found isn't always the case with other local acupuncturists as well. Debra J

The neurosurgeon who performed carotid endarterectomy... top notch…read more The care and experience goes downhill from there. It's sad that the best thing about this surgical experience is the cafeteria on the second floor. This hospital has seen better days and needs some updating badly. The bathrooms, disgusting. The elevators, too slow to even attempt to wait. It took 3 days to figure out how to get around this place, directions are confusing at best. Good luck figuring out what elevator bank to take to another elevator bank to get to another wing, etc. When I asked staff for directions, I swear they gave me the wrong directions on purpose. Parking is a horrifying experience, and I'm not one to let anyone valet park my Jeep. Extremely under-estimated the number of parking spaces they would need or the hospital has expanded way beyond the parking. The communication from the time leading up to pre-op, to pre-op, post op, during the hospital stay in ICU and a regular room, to discharge was sadly inconsistent. One nurse in ICU, extremely nice. The next shift nurse needed to not only be smacked but fired. So much conflicting information was given on the diagnosis and the steps that would be taken all the way thru recovery was bad enough to cause emotional distress. Discharge estimate - way off and there were no complications. The hospital needs to figure out a way to get consistent communication going. I was told I would be awake for my surgery, then told I would be put under and my brain would be frozen and monitored via computer and I would be on a nasal oxygen tube, then told no my brain wasn't going to be frozen but I would be put under and my brain 'shut-down' and monitored via computer and that I would be intubated. That is way too much discrepancy in communication. Recovery instructions were ALL over the place. A cocktail of drugs was thrown at me with no consideration for what I really needed or how the drugs would interact to make me nauseous. Dosing changes were not communicated between shifts, how does this happen when it's put into a computer tracking system? Would I go to another hospital next time? Maybe. I haven't decided yet. I haven't been through the billing experience yet so maybe that will tip my decision. I do understand the very best doctors are at U of M, maybe that is all that is important. I'm not sure yet. You should weight all doctors and hospitals before you have a procedure as important as mine was before you decide. Get word of mouth referals from real people who have been through what you are about to go through. Don't depend on your insurance company referrals or even your general doctor. I hate to say it but our medical system is completely broke, you have to advocate for yourself. You have to take a deep dive and do your due diligence. I feel sorry for the elderly who can't do this for themselves and might not have anyone to help them.

He told my husband that he could not understand why Dr. Kocs from Texas Oncology was saying that he was doing well when in fact he thought the opposite. My husband had a petscan on the last week of November 2022 and it showed that the cancer was stable in his liver where it had metastasized from the colon. We got terrible vibes from Dr. Krauss on our very first visit. My husband only received one chemo treatment at the Rogel Cancer Center at UofM. Then Dr. Krauss put my husband into hospice. My husband was so happy to come to U of M Cancer center until Dr. Krauss gave him No Hope. We had been told by Dr. Krauss that he had a couple of other treatments that he could try before giving up on my husband. I was very disappointed with Rogel Cancer Center and Dr. Krauss and would never recommend anyone to this cancer center since they don't want to help anyone and just give up easily on their own patients. The staff was not very friendly and we were made to feel like outsiders. This was the worst experience I have ever had. We should have stayed in Texas where the Oncologists were great and very caring with every patient. After talking with several Michiganders, I was made aware that this was one of the worst hospitals and cancer center in the US. Please do not bring your family here to Michigan, they will only let them come and die before helping them. Thanks Dr. Krauss for the worst care that was given to us. Debbie Beach from Austin Texas.

I had a lot of health issues but I never dreamed of joining a gym in California, see I'm overweight and had never seen the inside of a gym. I joined this gym Applied Fitness Solutions about three months ago and it was the best investment in my life, no regrets! In California the gym's are intimidating because everyone that goes to a gym, in my opinion have perfect bodies and everyone is big on their looks. That being said, AFS is so different and so much better! Their trainers are highly qualified, supportive, knowledgeable in every aspect of the body. They are there to help you reconnect your mind to your body. The gym members are regular people that have an interest and investing in a better lifetime with the body they have. You make an appointment and you follow the process so they get to know what your goals are for you. I truly know if you take this step to invest in yourself you will not regret it and will see results and like everything in life it's hard in the beginning but eventually it becomes a way of life with great health mentally and physically. I highly recommend Applied Fitness Solutions!!!
