However, AFS is not a typical gym. The staff and the client experience are, in my opinion and experience, what separate AFS from the rest. AFS provides a exceptionally consistent high level of customer service at all levels of the organization. Your performance and overall experience will be consistent as the entire AFS team equally contributes to the customer experience. A quick read of "About Our Staff" on their web page reveals a roster of educated, accomplished professionals. Pursuit of your goal won't be managed by someone having fly-by-night credentials with their face glued to their i-device. Classes are fun, structured, efficient, and the performance level is based on your individual needs- whether you are young or young with many years experience, fit or will become fit, the gym/fitness newbie or veteran. Classes start and stop on time allowing you to maximize the most of your workout and remainder of your day. Performance level is up to you- what is your goal and how hard will you work to achieve it? The gym is spotless and highly organized. Hand sanitizer stations, disinfectant wipes, paper towels, latex gloves, and waste baskets are stocked and conveniently located throughout the facility to emphasize and encourage cleanliness. The variety of equipment is impressive- which makes for an excellent opportunity for trying it before adding to your home gym. The commercial grade equipment is well maintained. Consider joining AFS for the above reasons. I have a family with two young children. I travel approximately 50,000 miles for work annually. I am also pursuing a 2nd degree. My gym investment must pay off because I cannot afford to lose time or money. AFS provided the knowledge, structure, and tools I needed to drop ~50# of body fat in a year- without fads or injury. It simply works. A note about the cons... If AFS' methods were not valid the peak-hours parking situation would be moot. Bieber is Bieber, some clients like it, some don't. I started exercising after my 2nd child was born about 11 years ago. At the time I realized that things do not bounce back as easily as they did the first time around and I needed to do more then just diet. I started to exercise just enough so I would loose the baby weight but I never really loved to exercise. After giving birth to my third and fourth child and allowing myself to gain 70lbs with each pregnancy I found my body had a lot of "trouble areas" that needed immediate attention. I tried kickboxing classes, aerobic workouts and spinning classes. About a year ago I stared to notice that the workout I was doing 4-5 days a week was starting to become "easy". I was very skeptical of going the "personal trainer" route, but after a personal recommendation for Mike & his team at AFS I decided to give his program a try. I've always had a difficult time losing weight and keeping it off (very much a yo-yo dieter), and I was excited by the personal recommendations I was given upon my initial consultation and the progress AFS thought I was capable of achieving. I'm happy to report that through the guidance of the staff at AFS, I have been able to shave 21 minutes off my best 1/2 marathon time, lost 6 % body fat and 10lbs fat mass, gained 9.5lbs lean mass and have been able to keep these healthful habits beyond the period of my training program. I can't say enough good things about Applied Fitness Solutions! I started there in March 2013 and I was around 22% body fat. I was in decent shape, I was running three times a week and lifting weights twice a week, but something wasn't clicking. They helped me get my diet squared away - got my calories in check and macros right (I was way under on protein), and my practitioner has taught me a lot about protein intake (timing, supplementing with amino acids), which has led to more efficient strength gains and more rapid recovery. Their workouts are great; group setting, and people are friendly but help push each other. The practitioners are awesome, and run the classes with consistency and professionalism. They also work to help you recover from injuries - I strained a tendon in my left foot and the owner scheduled time with me. He was not only able to diagnose the issue, but also made recommendations on how to recover as quickly as possible, while still keeping active. The net result is I'm down to below 10% body fat, up about 5 pounds of lean mass, and in better shape than I've ever been in my life. I have been a client of AFS for a few years now. I wanted to improve my health and possibly lose some weight as I glide through my mid 50's. I am a 28 year old mother of two and am in the best shape of my life due to Applied Fitness Solutions and the amazing people who work there. I started going before my youngest was born, but 3 months after her birth I was back at it, she turned a year in December and since her birth I've dropped close to 70 lbs. and almost 15% body fat. I have spent most of my adult life overweight and thinking that I would always be "a big girl." When I came to AFS I figured that I might be able to lose a little weight but felt I would always be a "a big girl." Modifiable and Appropriately Challenging!!! I've been going to the Weight Loss conditioning class for almost three years now. My intention was to maintain my current body composition while being able to eat what I want. Now after three years with a slightly healthier adjustment to my eating habits, I'm down 5% body fat and 6 lbs fat mass. AFS is for everybody!
