There is some cute stuff, but a lot of the items she sells in store you can find elsewhere for cheaper, and they claim it's all local artisans, but some of it is giving dropshipping. I will be going to Front & Company, or Makers, where 100% of the proceeds to go the maker, instead.

I looked around a bit to find a simple local gift for a friend's birthday and I found the perfect thing! I know he is a lunch box person, and I found this little cute compactable lunch box for him. And the amount of candles in this little shop was just abundant. I smelled all the candles that were there that day. I found a couple for myself at the same time so next time I can come back and buy some. But, I found the perfect ones for my friend~!! The amount of stuff and local created gifts are just amazing. She deals with mostly invitations and personal stationery herself, but for me, my designs for gift certificates and special promo items for my business clients could never be made by anyone else. When I moved to Vancouver, I got all my cards at the downtown Papyrus, and I was so very sad when they closed. Enter Mollie's. It's fairly small, but they carry a decent selection of Hallmark and Papyrus greetings cards. They also now are carrying some boxed Christmas cards, too. I liked how they had a good selection of UNICEf boxed holiday cards. (I was a bit dismayed how they didn't have any Hanukkah boxed cards. I saw a bunch of them last time I was at IKEA, as they carry the UNICEF boxed cards - for Christmas and Hanukkah ,both). This store also has cute school/office supplies (novelty erasers and pens and pencils, crayons, paper clips, etc), and some wonderful gift ideas for kids and teens (fun card games, stickers, beautiful artsy jigsaw puzzles, etc.). I also noted that they have a Canada Post counter and mailbox at the back, so you can mail out your cards and packages here (nice! I decided not to get mail forwarding, and when i tried to get my identity verified she read my mail and said that she "has to contact the sender" and asking me "how am i supposed to do this" like I don't know lady im not the one that works here??? Maybe SCAN THE BARCODE???? Will never come back here again what a nightmare took them 10 minutes to get through one transaction

The store is now much more open in design, and while they've pared down the home decor stuff, they've brought in a lot more bags and costume jewellery and spa stuff, not to mention a lot of gifts for kids, which is important to indulgent auntie-types like me.

Most things are overpriced but with their coupons (easily available on their app),they become 'normally' priced. Staffing is alway a bit minimal- not many on the floor and usually need a few more on cash. The fabric section has a lot of licensed prints (ie. Harry Potter, Disney..) BUT.... beware of buying fabric here. Fabric should be cut on the grain -especially for prints and the last time I purchased here the fabric was cut at a terrible angle. I bought & paid for 1.5 meters but in actuality I got 9 cm short. My pattern required a lot of shifting to get it to fit and my daughter's pyjama pants became pj shorts. Not impressed as stores are usually meticulous about cutting accurately and even allowing extra for shrinking.

I want heavy card stock, hand stamped envelopes, and something to grip my hands on so that I can put pen to paper. Tiny but mighty, Zing is light and bright, filled with cards for every occasion, agenda books, custom wedding invites, and funky wrapping paper. It's easy to park, the lady behind the counter was friendly, and I left the store with some birthday cards in tow. As with everything that caught my eye at Zing, these cards aren't of the boring cookie-cutter variety, so I can share them with confidence that my loved ones haven't already received the same card countless times before.
