He has attended other summer camps in prior years but enjoyed St Luke's by far. Summer camp is a lot of fun, the pool is open, they have field trips every Friday and more. He enjoyed summer camp so much, that last year we decided to do after school there as well. They offer other activities as well, so he is taking Taekwondo and a science/stem class this semester (took tennis previously as well). He does his homework there as well. My four boys have attended too many camps to count and I know, first hand, that no camp is perfect. The counselors have bad days, mistakes are made, scheduled events do not always happen or happen as planned. My kids have had less than great experiences at a few other camps but I would never do anything like the previous reviewer did. It seems excessive; as if the reviewer has a vendetta against this business. Also, whenever I see a bad review, I look at any other reviews the person posted and as I guessed this reviewer only has negative reviews so maybe it is the person that is negative and not the business.

I always felt safe bringing my kid to school, and we had no issues during the year that we were there. The main reason why the school did not work for us was because the Mandarin class size got really large. It was 10 kids when we started, and then maybe 5 months later it was at 18 kids. I felt this number was too high for one teacher (who did not have a full time assistant) to handle. Especially because there are 3 years old in this class too. Ms. Jessica is an amazing teacher whom my son loved dearly. I believe that she did her best to juggle that many kids. She is loving and teaches the kids a lot more than just Mandarin. She is always friendly, and seemed to genuinely care about my son. Even though Crossing Borders ended up not being for us, I do recommend them to any parent who's asking. They are well organized, have a fun playground, and they kids do learn whatever language you sign them up for . My son speaks to me regularly in Mandarin at home now, and I couldn't be more thrilled. They offer a ton of extracurricular activities (extra fee) that help keep my child engaged. He eats all his lunches there and actually likes the food which saves me time because I'm not packing his lunch. They help me with potty training him. They move the kids around so they aren't bored. They have parties and parents can attend. Almost all the staff know my son by name even if they're not his teacher. Just overall an amazing school.

I started out in the beginner class with no previous experience and quickly learned the basics. The beginner class is a reasonable $170 for a 5 week session and you can count on coming home with 6+ pieces. Your final class will be a potluck, work reveal and Raku firing. John and Judy allowed me to take the beginner class for a few sessions until I was confident enough to move forward to the intermediate. I'm currently taking 3 month intermediate sessions with the option of extra studio time on Saturdays for $5. I love to come to class and unwind on Monday nights after a long day; playing with clay is really a form of therapy. The owners are there to assist you hands-on and help you achieve the best result (as are some of your classmates that have been students here for many years). John and Judy often have a different approach to their craft, which is beneficial in that you're exposed to more than one perspective and technique. The best advice that I can give is to eliminate your expectations. Almost every piece you make will look different than you envisioned, but you'll learn to love the unpredictability.

Ms. Lois is truly amazing and I finally felt truly comfortable that my daughter was safe and in a nurturing environment compared to previous centers. The class size is small and I like the daily report at the end of the day. They make cute projects to make learning interesting. She enjoyed her one month so much there so I enrolled her in summer camps right after and she completed one full yr Fall '23 to Spring '24 until it was time for elementary school. She made so many friends and still keeps in touch with some even after entering a different school. She gained so much confidence and a great educational foundation that I believe helped her easily transition to kindergarten. I truly recommend this preschool!

It is great for kids, great for moms, and my husband loves how much the kids are flourishing there. I researched many Parent's day out programs in Houston, before deciding on First Friends and I am SO glad I did! My kids are so happy and thriving in this program. The teachers are nice, experienced, patient, and passionate about the kids. I love that I get a daily report on how their day was and the teachers are very communicative. The director is always at the door to greet parents at drop off and pick up and she is very involved. I am just so happy with this program. It is safe, clean, and my kids so happy every time they go, even more they are learning and gaining great social skills. They do so many activities that help with fine motor skills, gross motor skills, and they do so many crafts I'm amazed! From comments I have heard from other Mom friends it's seems that other MDO programs are more concerned with tuition than the kids and parents, that is not the case at First Friends. Instead of doing month-by-month subscription, you pay for number of sessions upfront. We started our kid with a a single session to see how he liked it and then he bought more sessions in bulk (we initially bought for 10 sessions but our kid loved it so much we bought 16 more! The single session payment went towards the payment of the initial 10 sessions as well). We had a day where we weren't able to make it to our session and when we called Kids Robotic Academy they rescheduled us no problem for later that week! They get your child to build and program lego projects that they've set up. When it comes time for the end of the session, our kid will describe his project and talk about how his program works. I think not only the building and programming aspect is important learning for child at a young age but the communication skills as well! I can't recommend Kids Robotic Academy enough to others.
