While the…read moreball pit is massive, getting to the designated toddler area required going through a fairly deep ball pit, which was difficult to maneuver (even as an adult). The slides were all extremely steep, including a glass piano slide that I found unsafe and uncomfortable. Sliding down the glass panels was painful, and the seams between each panel made the ride bumpy. The steepness of every slide caused my toddler to hit his head, no matter which one he tried. One slide on the big kids' side had a large hump that created a negative impact on the landing. Even though we didn't let our son go on it alone, another kid pushed him down. After going after my son, I realized how unsafe it was--the dip in the hump caused a sudden jolt, making it hard to control speed or maintain posture. I have several bruises from getting up the steepness of the rock climb, and up the slides even with gripper socks. My tailbone is bruised from the glass piano slide. I'm extremely disappointed with this place. We were there for a toddler's birthday party, but I wouldn't recommend this place. It didn't feel safe, and everything from the obstacle course to the main play area was inconvenient and poorly designed for toddlers.

It was located about 45 minutes from our house, but I figured it was worth checking out since my son is getting a little bored with the ones closer to us. I'm so glad I decided to come here because I don't think he stopped for nearly three straight hours. He must have burned about 2,000 calories with how hard he went. This is certainly not the biggest indoor playground, but there is a nice variety of activities: tunnels/slides, a large bouncing area and a huge ball pit with slides. A nice thing for parents is that you can very easily keep track of your kiddo here, with the way that it's laid out. And the most impressive thing to me is that I assumed they had just opened their doors during my visit in early Jan 2024. As it turns out, I see that they opened back in May 2023! I was shocked to find this out because the place was absolutely spotless. My assumption was that they had been open less than a month. It still even had the new building smell. If your kid(s) like indoor playgrounds, this is definitely a good one, especially for kids in the 2-7 year range.

Not sitting on a patio sipping mimosas with my girlfriends (sigh)! Gymboree Play and Music is a great second choice though, and my daughter's first choice for air conditioned climbing fun. She looks forward to each Saturday class with Ms. Taylor for fun, age appropriate games and activities, friends, catchy songs (my husband and I have been singing the 'sitting in my high chair' song all day) bubbles, and of course the indoor playground equipment. She has a blast each time we go, and we love the atmosphere and loosely-structured play environment. While it's encouraged for your kids to follow along with the group activities, if your little one just wants to roll a ball one day, or go up and down the slide, no worries! You be you, little one. Be sure to bring socks for all adults, because if you forget you have to buy a pair for $10 at the front. Kiddos go barefoot to prevent slippage, but do wear play clothes suitable for active play (leave the baby suits and dresses at home and opt for a comfy onesie!). The way Gymboree operates is with a monthly membership that gives you one or more class a week, plus unlimited visits during open gym hours. They have different types of classes available, so depending on what you and your kiddo want for structured play you can choose the appropriate class. We opted for the Play and Learn 3 class after attending the Play and Learn family class we did for our free preview. The family class is for all ages 0-5, and is geared towards families with multiple children attending. It was fun, but we decided the age-appropriate class made the most sense for us. As an FYI- more Hina one adult can attend with your child at once. We attend on Saturday and most of the kids have both parents in attendance, and it's a fun way to meet other parents in the area. Now if only we could incorporate mimosa into Gymboree play, that would be the best of both worlds.

Enough about the Cafe, how is the Play? This is why you come here. It's simply the best indoor play space in the city for children aged 9 months/crawling to 5 years old. Most play spaces have playgrounds that are more for ages 4-7 and can stress parents of younger children, leave those younger children feeling left out or just unengaged from the mismatch. Not here. This play space is the best for toddlers in the city and it shows. Customers come from all over the city to enjoy the space With their toddlers. I have met many other parents that have become friends here. Everyone is there for the right reason: their children. It creates an air of subtle community immediately that Happy Beans facilitates so well. It's just a wonderful space that I love being, not just my child.
