I feel like I don't even need to write a review. Jenna's work and previous reviews explains it ALL. But you know, if you want to know my honest story: I am in the wedding business. I had a client who was not so happy with her wedding photographer but was in LOVE with his engagement session shooter. Guess who that was? They loved loved Jenna! I honestly have not had the honor of working with Jenna on the professional level but think its much more important to describe what it's like on a client level. We (my husband and I) are not photogenic people. We hate posing for photos unless we have had something to drink (and by something I mean a lot!). But I knew our time for couple photos on our wedding was limited (though our photographer then did a great job!) and we scheduled this session with Jenna. I loved working with Jenna because she would shout directions at us. She wouldn't force us into anything but a little guidance is always appreciated - especially for those of us who DON 'T model you know? Jenna is an incredible photographer, truly, especially in capturing candid moments and making them look incredibly natural which is exactly what I wanted for our wedding. She is unique from other wedding photographers that I saw in that her photos portray colors vividly and boldly. She has an incredibly inclusive and diverse business and is accepting of all different wedding and couple types! Jenna as a person really tries to get to know you and she even took us out to dinner just to chat a few weeks before our big day! We absolutely loved our photos from our engagement shoot and our wedding - most of the important moments were captured in beautifully vivid color. We had an Indian fusion wedding and chose her because we saw another Indian fusion wedding she had done in which we fell in love with her photography style. That said, there is a certain dramatic style and culturally specific type of photos that Indian weddings usually have and I felt that I missed out on some of those types of photos (even though we are not a fan of overly dramatic to begin with and she already adds a good amount of drama to her photos!). There could have been a little more cultural exploration there and of course that will come with her practicing on Indian weddings. Regardless, I am so glad I took a chance on her because we were really happy with the results for a totally reasonable price for wedding photographers. Would certainly recommend her in general! And for Indian weddings, just make sure you work with her to tell and show her exactly what you're looking for, but she can definitely give you the drama you're looking for! read more

Seriously, 5 stars is an understatement for the AWESOME job Jenna did for our engagement photo shoot. I read a lot of articles online prior to booking our engagement photo shoot with Jenna, on what makes a "good" photographer. The number 1 tip from a lot of sources said that a good photographer would make you feel at ease, and give you clear direction. Checking out the photographers blog is also important as it will really give you a good idea of the phographers personality. If you are like me, and have never really been comfortable having you photos taken, and disliked yearbook photos, you will be pleasantly surprised. Our photo shoot was in Haleiwa over the fourth of July weekend. Jenna took us to a secret spot that she had scoped out for us prior to our photo shoot. I think this in itself proves how much she really puts an effort into pleasing her clients. She also took time out of her busy schedule to meet with us in town for a pre-consultation meeting where she got a "feel" for what we are like as a couple. This meeting was great because WE were also able to get a "feel" for her too. Her bubbly, fun, outgoing personality really made us feel comfortable and we knew that our photos were going to turn out great. While most photographers take classic engagement "portraits," Jenna really has a niche talent in the Hawaii market because of her classical, vintage, yet flirty and romantic photos. Her keen eye for detail, and her love of using natural sunshine rays in photos, is unique and made us look SO GOOD!!! I am 100% satisfied with how the photos turned out, and I highly recommend her!!! I found Jenna through her Yelp ad and review. I called 3 other photographers but Jenna was the first to answer the phone. I thought she was so friendly and certainly had a beautiful portfolio, so I grabbed her right then and there after a quick conversation. The other photographers got back to me...eventually. But, too late. She's a lady in demand, so I booked her for a Sunday sunset session. She was so great with our family of 10 including some uncooperative adults. My teenage and pre-teen niece and nephews were less demanding. But, Jenna was fun and quick and she made getting our various poses and groupings a breeze. I'm really looking forward to the final product. I looked at a preview on her camera so I'm confident we'll love it. You cannot go wrong hiring Creatrix Photography or Jenna. I wanted to get his 1 month portraits when they were here so I could get family and three generation photos at once. I rarely give 5 stars, but I LOVE the work that she produced for us and we had a great time during our photo session! I was a bit nervous buying this deal for our vacay. It was a great deal that I couldn't and didn't want to pass up. Timing was key to our vacay dates. Thankfully she had two spots open during it. So I nabbed the spot and bought the deal on Living Social! I know, usu you buy before you book, but it was our vacay and didn't want to chance not having an appt! Jenna has a great bubbly personality that made us feel less tense (more at ease). Which helps esp when you have a big lens in your face and you're not one who loves taking pictures by a stranger. I love that she had a prop box!! They were so much fun to use! I recommend picking out a few just to have on stand by. Of course I didn't chose anything crazy bcz the BF didn't want any props...so we ended up choosing props you'd see on a beach/picninc day. Boo to the BF! One thing I didn't like was she doesn't take pictures while talking, too often. It could be a good thing and a bad thing. In my case, when she lifted that big lens and stopped talking I felt a dead air space btw the lens and me again. I love her work and I would highly recommend Jenna. Her turn around time is fast which is great! We've had professional sessions before and I didn't love the work, I just liked the work! With Jenna she won't disappoint! When looking for a wedding photographer, I wanted someone that I knew was LGBT friendly. When reading Jenna's blog, she said that she would love to be the top LGBT wedding photographer in Hawaii. She sold me right there. The good thing is that she was amazing. She was very fun and down to earth and not the traditional wedding photographer, which we love, as we're not traditional people. Since we live in the states and she's in Hawaii, we had lots of great email dialogue and a Skype session so we could get to know each other. I had the pleasure of meeting Jenna when I traveled to Oahu for vacation. I was also 24 weeks pregnant at the time of the trip, so I decided what better time to take maternity pictures! We met Jenna at 6AM, at a secluded beach in Waimanalo. The beach was serene and quiet.. the breeze was perfect, the sun in full force. I worked with Jenna for some business portraits and was very pleased with the results. She "got" the look I was going for and gave me some really valuable feedback on my makeup, clothing, and poses. With her help I think that the portraits turned out much better than I could have expected. Jenna became somewhat of a regular at the coffee shop I was working at downtown this past year. She would come in about three times a week before one of her classes so we became pretty good friends. So, when I became engaged she started offering to travel to shoot my wedding (since I would be moving away from Hawai'i when the school year ended). I just loved the idea and loved her. We were recently out in Oahu for a family vacation. Two weeks before heading out I realized that beyond newborn photos we had not done any other professional photos for our nearly 2 year old son. Realizing how little time we had before the vacation I called about 10 photographers listed on Yelp. Jenna was one of a few to actually answer my phone call. She was so helpful and professional over the phone. I could sense her enthusiasm for her job while talking to her (unlike some of the other photographers I spoke to). She was able to accomodate my short notice and made communication and payment very easy. On the day of our sunrise shoot she was at our place by 6 in the morning with fresh baked muffins!!!! She had already scouted out beautiful locations for our shoot. She connected with my son (who usually refuses to look at cameras) and she got the most amazing shots.
