We were served some delicious boysenberry pie and had an excellent night's sleep. Our room was upstairs (Garden Room) and had a private bathroom. I called in around 9am to make a reservation and Wendi (the Owner) gladly took us same day for a 12:30pm slot. I told her my boyfriend has some food restrictions like he doesn't like mayo so she was able to make some sandwiches without it. She asked if we want the Princess tea ($35 per head) or the Queen tea ($40 per head) so we chose the Princess set. An hour later we arrived to the The Painted Lady Tea house! Mostly street parking but it's not busy so it was easy to park in front the house. The house entrance had two doors but for some reason the first door you see is locked so you enter the right door side as their entrance. The ambiance of the place was super pretty like each section of the house had different themes. Wendi greeted us and said we can sit anywhere in the house. There was two other groups that was dining and noticed they were wearing cool hats so my boyfriend chose to wear a Jester hat and I chose to wear a frilly flower hat. I saw one group eating the Queen tea set so I asked Wendi if we can change our meal plan to that instead and she was able to make the last minute change. We chose to sit in the green room because it was very earthy, decorated with plants, and had small water fountains. Here is what's inside the modified Queen tea set meal: Appetizer -2x Ginger scone -2x Lemon scone -English Tea -Side of sugar cubes -Side of creamer Entree -Croissant sandwich (Ham, cheese, tomato, leafy greens, mustard, mayo) -Egg sandwich -Curry chicken salad sandwich -6x cucumber cream cheese sandwiches *no mayo* -2x crusted egg quiche -Green grapes -Chocolate dipped tangerines -2x Chocolate crunchy dipped strawberries -2x Chocolate drizzled strawberries Dessert -2x Strawberry ice cream cake -2x Oreo cheesecake My boyfriend got a whole Croissant sandwich since the other sandwiches contained mayo. He ended up not liking it because he didn't know there was mustard in it so he just wiped it off and didn't want to ask for a new one. Most tea places I've been don't usually add mustard into their sandwiches so maybe next time I should've said no sauces or all sauces on the side. Their website menu didn't have any details of the sandwiches, it was very vague. I'm kind of sad he wasn't able to enjoy the other sandwiches with me so I wish there was more no sauce sandwich options or self serve sauces in the future but that's what I get for dating a picky boyfriend lol. I really enjoyed everything and loved the decor of the house! But I felt like the menu had too many sweets. I would be fine with just the scones, dipped strawberries, grapes, and oreo cheesecake but the extra dipped tangerine and strawberry ice cream cake were too much. Maybe I suggest make the strawberry ice cream cake and oreo cheesecake to be bite sized. It would be nice if there was a good ratio of savory like maybe add chips, soup, cheese cubes, or other charcuterie board savory snacks. I still recommend this place! Jeanie and Russ, the owners of this 1913 home, are excellent hosts and great breakfast cooks. We had french toast with fresh berries, poached eggs and bacon one day and blueberry muffins, omelets and locally made sausage the second morning. We stayed in the Royal King Suite. It was a spacious room with comfortable sitting area, fireplace, jacuzzi tub and high quality bed. Both suites have private entrances. In addition to the two bed and breakfast suites, this property is also a wedding venue with a gazebo, tent for the reception, and even a vintage automobile. Jeanie has been a wedding coordinator for many years and adds her special expertise to the many weddings they have each year. We hope to return soon when we come to the Rogue Valley again.

Her breakfast surpassed every expectation we could've imagined. John does a magnificent job maintaining the ground and the gardens. The view from our bedroom deck was both majestic and serene of the mountains in the distance. And unlike most places we've stayed, the deck and the deck furniture were actually clean! You could sit out on them and enjoy the view. Fortunately, we had a large lunch on the way to The Manor. It is in a remote area, and unless you want to cook yourself, your only choice for dinner is a long drive back into town. The other factor to note, is that the air conditioning is central and turned off at night. Our room did not really cool down despite open windows. We are from a cool climate, and the heat was difficult. Overall, if you're looking for an out-of-the-way quiet bed and breakfast get-away, this is the place for you. If you're looking for state of the art lodging close to town activities and restaurants this would not be your best choice.
