Overall it's acceptable. The rooms are cool in that they give you a full kitchen with real appliances and even utensils/dishes. Parking was easy. Air conditioner worked well. They allowed my cat. River view was nice. But the room had some fairly remarkable inadequacies. For starters, my room, which was a pet friendly room, had some awful stench of animal feces/urine/fur which drove everyone crazy (including my cat). I know this is par for the course to some extent with pet friendly rooms but this was egregious. It really smelled bad. Also the freezer had some horrible gunk in it which I tried to clean (not my job to do this, but I was bored) and that is when I realized that this blue gunk is some inter-dimensional protomolecule that simply can not be removed. I seriously don't know what this is. I tried to wipe it down and it just absorbed my paper towel and made the mess even bigger. Someone else can slay this dragon. It's too big for this old country boy. read more

Right on the Rogue River. For 10 dollars more you can get a room with a river view and patio. Room was clean and had all the basics. Staff was kinda slow. When I called to make a reservation I had to repeat myself over and over. Then the same person met us at the front desk making check in like molasses. Without any breakfast due to C19 we had to drink the coffee in the room which was awful. It's definitely the best choice in Shady Cove. I just wish it was better. read more

I would highly recommend a stay at Edgewater Inn! The rooms are clean and spacious and if you book a river view room it feels like you're staying in a much more expensive hotel! I've read past reviews that said the rooms need updating, but I think they have been updated since those reviews as I don't agree with them. Also I've read that nobody is available at the front desk, however, they must have corrected this also as it's clearly stated at the front door what the hours are, and the front desk person also told us in detail about their hours and availability! We had a little mix up with our reservation and the manager was quite accommodating! We were very happy with our stay here, and would stay again! read more

The lobby has a cute log cabin feel but the rooms are pretty old school and stuffy. When we sat on the toilet the whole thing would shift slightly, seems it wasn't connected to the floor completely/properly! Wi-Fi did not work AT ALL in our room or our friends rooms on the other side of the hotel. We stayed here Christmas Eve. They called us to let us know that they would be closing early while we were driving down. They wanted to make sure we'd be there before closing so we could get in. Super sweet! We actually got there early, but they let us check in earlier than we were supposed to. It is a dog-friendly hotel!! They even gave our pup, Mango, a bag full of treats and a sheet for her to sleep on! The room was clean and comfortable. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We had no issues! The breakfast is nothing special...just a regular continental breakfast. However, they did have oatmeal with plenty of sides to make it super tasty! If you're headed out to Crater Lake and need a place to sleep, this is a great place to stay! It was also somewhat close to Medford for dinner and a movie. read more

We really enjoyed our stay at the Edgewater Inn and would recommend this hotel highly. Reasonable price, nice spacious comfortable rooms and a decent breakfast in the morning. The property is clean and offers a guest laundry, a swimming pool, hot tub and is right on the Rogue River. Perfect place to stay if you are boating or tubing in the area. The lobby area was inviting and the front desk staff was very helpful with making recommendations for places to dine in the area. Overall this was the best place we stayed while on a road trip in the area. I would highly recommend the Edgewater Inn for a good night's sleep at a really good rate. read more

At check in, in the evening, Tinea was very nice, friendly and welcoming. Also helpful with local information and minor needs. Sandy the day manager was also very nice and friendly. Heck we had a great chat. Even a room cleaning staff went out of her way to get local information for us. The location is next to the beautiful Rogue River. Totally clean rooms! Great place to stay if you are in the Shady Cove area. The staff were very friendly and helpful in recommending places to eat and hang out. The room was extremely clean and cozy! Nice soaps and shampoo in the bathroom. The inn offered rooms with views of the river and kitchenettes for a little extra. We went with a basic room which was nice. We were able to use our computer and the bed was very comfortable! There was a small continental breakfast available in the morning which was a great way to start the day. The Willard it is not. But, then again, you weren't expecting the Willard in Shady Cove, Oregon, were you? No. So, with expectations set, the Edgewater In exceeded them all. I had a second-floor, street-side room. It was spacious and well-furnished. The bed was comfortable. The room was quite clean and well-supplied. It was entirely comfortable. WiFi was very slow with some errors. But, keep in mind that you are in Shady Cove, Oregon which means two things: first, don't expect much internet. Second, forget about the virtual world and go outside to see the real world because you are in a very beautiful part of it. Besides, while it's nice to check your e-mail before heading out for the day, you didn't come to Shady Cove for the WiFi. I did not have a river-view room. But, there is a wonderful promenade along the river which is so pleasant to stroll down. Don't miss this. The hotel was quite at night. The staff were friendly and helpful. In all, this was a very good stay and I would not hesitate to suggest the Edgewater Inn in Shady Cove, Oregon. read more

Charity, the wonderful clerk who checked us in was amazing. Friendly, helpful and accommodating. It was my wife's birthday. We opted for the jacuzzi tub room (at a ridiculous $183 for a late Wednesday night check in). The tub produced a brown foam when the jets were turned on, leaving a brown, greasy ring in the tub. It also produced ANTS coming from the wall. Millions of piss ants. My wife refused to get in the tub. At checkout the next morning, we waited at the front desk for at least 20 minutes while the clerk finished one phone call, answered 3 more calls, and had a full 7 minute conversation with a worker who interrupted us trying to tell the clerk we were just here to check out, before we were asked, "Yes?" (I'm guessing she just forgot to say, "can I help you"???). We then related our ANTS experience to her, at first, mostly as a courtesy to just inform them that their expensive ($183) jacuzzi tub room was full of bugs. The clerk's response was, "ya. We've had trouble with ants for a LONG TIME. But ONLY on the 2nd floor". We produced a photo of the alleged ants from my cell, to which she replied,"I'll have my girls check it out ". Another 10-15 mins later, "the girls" verified #1-No, we didn't steal anything and #2- Yes. There were ants all over the tub and a trail of them going into the wall". Great. After a half assed and irritated "apology", she informed us she'd "take 10%off the bill". She stated, "Well, at least you could hear the river all night". Really. And the hwy bridge right above our room, too?! TEN %?? Our original room was exorbitant at $111 (and a view of the parking lot). We "UPGRADED (?)" for a jacuzzi tub we could not use, and she could only take $18 off the charges? Rude check out clerk, No continental breakfast, no vending machines other than drinks (supposedly due to COVID-19, but the pool and hot tub were open?), A 30+ minute wait to simply check out (& have the $300 deposit credited back to my card--which has still not been officially refunded to my card yet. The room charge & deposit were immediately on my card account, though), and their idea of making "it right" was a lousy $18 break on the room. Definitely will not return to this hotel and absolutely will not recommend this place to anyone. Charity is too good for that place and I hope she moves on as fast as she can. read more

I think it is time for them to realize that dialup Internet speed is not acceptable in 2018. WiFi is a total joke. Additionally, some receptionists are extremely rude (I am taking about the one who was there at night of August 1 - she didn't bother to introduce herself, naturally). Such people completely destroy the efforts of the other team members to make the stay at that hotel pleasant. Breakfast is very limited in selection. But the room was clean and well maintained. I stayed here with my family for a night last week en route to Crater Lake. The drive from Grants Pass was lovely, made lovelier when in a sudden panic about gasoline in this remote area I called the hotel and received confirmation a gas station is across the street from them - phew! Anyway, the hotel - we got a room on the river, a rare splurge for me, but for a $20 up charge a good deal (we were on the 2nd floor, which I'd recommend). You are essentially on top of the Rogue, looking at the bridge crossing you probably came from. It's a lovely sight. There is a general pavilion accessible to all guests, and you'll want to go there too for some fir action, but there's something about looking out the river from your room (maybe it's the pajama factor). Breakfast is apples and oranges, a few muffins and related, coffee, and a sizable variety of bagged teas. The lobby area is rustic - a pebble-lined hearth, antler chandeliers, that kind of thing. The receptionist was chatty and recommended the Rogue River Gorge in Prospect on the way up to the lake, a great suggestion that I took her up on. You can certainly spell The Edgewater Inn without C-H-A-R-M. But you can't think of it without it. read more

My boyfriend and I are first time travelers to Shady Cove, let alone Oregon. We needed a place to stay for a night so we could hit up some fly fishing locations along the Rogue. I found this hotel on hotels.com and though it was decently priced. However, upon checking in and seeing our room along with the view of the river I almost felt as is we were receiving a killer deal. The room was clean and the bathroom appeared to be upgraded with tile flooring and a nice shower. The entire staff was EXTREMELY friendly and personable at every encounter. We were so impressed by the hotel and fishing, we actually decided to stay an extra night. The hotel price matched hotels.com and were glad to do it. We took advantage of the continental breakfast, which consisted of oatmeal with an array of condiments, tilamook yogurt, a variety of bagels and drinks. All in all, we were VERY impressed with everything about this hotel. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting a relaxing experience and a room with a view! read more

What a great place! Found it online and wanted to be out of Medford. The price was right. The room was GREAT. Very very clean, great service, PET FRIENDLY, smoke free, comfy beds and THE most comfy recliner in the room ever! We were late to check in so the front desk called to make sure we were alright and to ask if we needed directions. While checking out, we got to meet the sweet lab Chloe who was sweet enough to bring her toy over to play with me. She is one happy puppy for 13 years old! Keep up the awesome work folks. From booking the rooms in the first place and receiving a moody unhelpful lady on the phone, to when we arrived for check in to find two rooms were lost since the reservation. This place is an absolute joke. Stayed there for a close by wedding recently, had to go to front desk several times during the day because my key cards would only work one time and then not work again. Came back from the wedding around 11pm to once again not be able to get into my room. All my belongings were in the room including my cellphone. There was a number on the now CLOSED front office to call for emergencies. I found another guest and borrowed a phone and called numerous times with no answer. Finally around 3 AM I had no choice but to call 911 to get a hold of someone to let me in my room. 20 minutes later a rude lady showed up and basically threw a card at me. In the morning I made a complaint and asked my room be comped as I was locked out until almost 4am. I was told to kick rocks and that I'm SOL. Basically screw this place and I highly recommend never staying there. read more

We were driving from Crater Lake and happened to be routed through Shady Cove due to the fire a few months ago. It was getting a bit late and we decided to find a place to stay. We stumbled upon this wonderful hotel and even though we intended to only stay for one night, we stayed three nights. Even though it was busy, the wonderful staff was so helpful in making it possible for us to stay on the bottom floor (river side). We did not mind changing rooms. The room was clean and exaclty what we needed. The grounds are very peaceful and my wife and kids and I thought it perfect. Resurants are close as well as a market if you want to buy food. There is so much to do around the area that one cant fit it all in.... We had such a great time, we just booked for our next visit.... ($144 per night, not bad!) Oh also, they have free breakfast every morning. Close to Metford and Jacksonville, its only about 30 min. We thought Jacksonville was great and they have a great tour of all the historical buildings. Want to go river rafting? Right accross the street from the hotel is a location that you can get a raft for cheap. In addition to that, they take you 10 miles up river and you float down. It is very relaxing. You see many deer and even can get into a water fight with other rafters. Hungry? There are many places that you can pull over and have a picnic lunch. We went to subway and got sandwiches for the trip. It was great! Up and down the river there are plenty of places to walk and stroll. With benches that are perfectly located to sit and watch the fish jump out of the river. If you want to fish the river is perfect for that. If you need equipment you can rent some form the local stores and go at it... I strongly reccomend this place for those who want to get away. Oh, BTW your cell phones will not work (YAY!) But that have Wifi for those who need to stay connected. (I am not one of them! LOL) read more

I came to this hotel a few years back in 2010, when I went to Crater Lake in the summer. When I was here three years ago, I had a very pleasant experience, so I came back to have another great time. This time, however, I was greeted by a rude lady at the front desk that treated me terribly, and didn't smile and looked like she didn't want to be there. I would ask her questions, and she would give me quick, short answers. She never once said "hello" or "welcome." She never said "thank you" either. It was a very unpleasant experience. Also, when I came here, the hotel was almost empty, with only a few cars in the lot. I asked if I could maybe get the room close to the river I had last time I was here. The answer was "No, I don't have the ability to do that, and next the you reserve a room, you should select the option for a 'view room'." That was very rude. If you're military, you probably shouldn't say that you are, because I get the vibe that they treat you terribly if you are a service member. This is too bad, because the last time I came here, a different lady helped me out, and she was very friendly and kind. The rooms though, are very nice and clean. The property itself is very well maintained. It's a good hotel in the area, but it is more expensive than I would like it to be. It was 89 dollars per night, and for that much money, I would expect the hotel to be a little more high end. The wifi is free, even though it goes down at random times, and whenever it does, it takes around 15 minutes for the staff to reset it. (Although it really honestly takes 5 minutes TOPS to reset a router.) They have a nice big parking lot, and the rooms on the river side are very nice and has great views. This time, however, I felt so un-welcomed that unless they change the staff, I won't be returning here again. This is unfortunate, because it's a good hotel, but the rude staff honestly isn't worth my time. read more

I rarely give five stars however this place and their staff was truly a special place to visit. We drove up from the Central Coast of California about a 10 hour drive and this place and it's beauty was so worth it. We got a room facing the river, I would open the door while my husband rested and watch the Rogue River rushing by, so relaxing. In the mornings I got up went to the office had coffee and visited with Sandy who is extremely nice. After that I would go for a walk around, I just loved this place. If this place was not so far away I would be coming back more often for get away's this place is so relaxing. Nice clean quiet motel We stayed here one night. The motel is right on the Rouge River and has rooms with river views. Although the motel was empty, we weren't given a river view because the clerk told us they don't provide "rooms with a view" to Travelocity. They have a small pool and a hot tub as well. The breakfast was disappointing. The only cooked dish was oatmeal. However Max's Diner down the street had an excellent breakfast. read more
