We have a pleasant nights stay at the Maple Leaf Inn. Our room looks just like the picture, it was well-equipped, clean, quiet and comfortable. Happy to see a comfortable sized bedroom & bathroom. We're always happy to see no carpeting. smoking nor pets. Enjoyed the organic bath products. We heard the lull of traffic noise, but it wasn't bad, surely not city noise. There were not car alarms, noisy motorcycles nor the slamming of car doors. Our only issue was the lighting, our room felt very dark. The back windows looked out on a trailer park and the front out onto the road and parking lot, so we couldn't open the blinds. read more

Tl;dr: Absolutely 100% recommend this motel. Perfect if you're on a road trip and planning to stop by Crater Lake. Very overdue review: We stayed here this past summer and had such a great impression of the place - The fact that I still remember that we wanted to share our experience 6 months later is a testament to how great it was! The room was spotless, very comfortable, and even had little amenities like packaged soaps and shampoos, which was way more than I was expecting given the very affordable price. It's a bit of a drive from Crater Lake if you're coming to visit that, but definitely worth it over the expensive, isolated hotels closer to the lake (which were all swarming with mosquitos!). To top everything off, we had some car trouble the morning we were supposed to leave and the owners were so nice and helpful throughout the entire stressful experience. They let us wait in our room as long as they could let us after our checkout time while roadside assistance came and told us we were welcome to snack on the cherries from their beautiful cherry tree they had out front. What ended up saving us was the fact that they're very conveniently right next to an auto parts store which had exactly the tools we needed (very long story, but roadside assistance didn't end up helping). My son and I headed out on a spontaneous trip to Crater Lake. I booked the least costly stay I could find relatively close to Crater Lake. Boy were we pleasantly surprised! The front desk was extremely welcoming and helpful, giving great tips on other activities and sights in the area. When I dropped the key in the drop box, she even took the time to step out of the office to see how our trip was and send us off. Our room was immaculate! I can honestly say I have never had a cheap motel be so clean. It was very clear the employees at this motel take pride in there work and care in their work and with their customers. read more

This is a good place to stay if you are rafting the Rogue or visiting Crater Lake National Park. It is decently maintained and the staff is courteous and prompt with any concerns. We would stay here again if In the area. The room had the usual items and nothing was amiss. This hotel is so cute and perfect in my mind. The check in desk was so informational. We asked about where to eat along the river and he recommended Macs Cafe for breakfast and Miguel's for dinner. Those two restaurants were amazing!! The beds were comfortable, there were ceiling fans, wooden floors, a big mirror in the room, great lighting, and a sweet little dog that welcomed us in the morning. The bathroom was roomy with lots of space to put your stuff on and a big mirror. We didn't utilize the BBQ area but thought that was pretty cool to have for guests. This is a fantastic Motel. The parking is easy and visible from your room. There is a shaded grassy area in front with benches and chairs to relax on. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The room I stayed in was freshly remodeled with all new beds and fixtures. The pillows are very nice and plentiful. One of the best attributes to the room Is how fast the hot water comes on in the shower. It is immediate. They also have a food truck on the premises and the food is delicious. I especially enjoyed the breakfast burritos. You can't go wrong staying here and highly recommend it. They are an excellent value. read more

Motels like these make me rethink my definitions of motels. This place is clean, quaint, and super friendly. It has all the necessities you need. We stayed here on our way to crater lake over thanksgiving. We wanted to stay not super close to crater lake because of the snow storm, but close enough to get in and out fairly easily. This is the perfect compromise. The place is clean- cleaner than many marriots and hiltons I've stayed. The room is large. Mac's diner is down the road and it's really awesome (another review to come). We would definitely stay here again when we pass by. read more

We were denied a room (asked to leave the room we had paid for) due to having a verified ADA animal present. "A person with a disability cannot be asked to remove his service animal from the premises unless: (1) the animal is out of control and the animal's owner does not take effective action to control it (for example, a dog that barks repeatedly during a movie) or (2) the animal poses a direct threat to the health or safety of others." Our service animal did not show any of these behaviors and we were asked to vacate our room, even with our 10 month old daughter asleep inside. Rigid, unhelpful, and actually illegal. I'm so sad that he was so inflexible and with paperwork in hand, denied us a place to stay. read more

Great little place! Looks perhaps like a no frills motel at first look but actually the place is lovingly run with nice little details like organic soaps I've seen at 4 star hotels and a little dining area with mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. And other little thoughtful touches like cute little decor and flowers made the room feel more home-y and less corporate. The staff was more than friendly and helpful and went out of there way to make our short stay a pleasant one. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family visiting the area. We were headed to crater lake on memorial day weekend and had not made reservations. Luckily one place referred us here. Even though we were making same day reservations they did not overcharge us. The rate was very reasonable and as it turns out was an amazing value. The motel was quiet and very clean. Each room comes with two beds so its ideal for families or those travelling with friends. It is also conveniently located on highway 62 near the rogue river. Best of all, the owner with his two small children runs the motel. read more

I don't like the idea of writing a negative review but I also want to ensure that no else experiences having their hotel reservation in a remote town cancelled. We showed up to the motel and we're told the reservation was never placed and that we probably called the wrong number and gave our credit card to a rando. Invalidating your guests is never good. We no longer had a place to stay. After showing the owner the proof that we did call and book the hotel in the night we said she sheepishly admitted that the reservation on their end was never saved. We needed the room for two nights and at this moment they only had one night available. Not having another acceptable option (we checked out the edge water but didn't feel good about that place) we booked for one night and found a hotel in Medford 30 mi away for the second night (which is super far from the wedding). I understand mistakes happen but there was a lack of ownership and accountability displayed that made the entire experience so off-putting. The rooms here were fine, they were clean with the exception of a dead spider hanging above the tub and dead spider above our bed. read more

My husband and I were visiting Crater Lake for the weekend. This place was only 1 hour away from there. It was pretty cheap and wasn't your typical "motel." It was clean, the beds were very soft, don't let the outside or area fool you. It's funny to see the review by Elsie c regarding this motel. She starts the review by saying Trip Advisor lies. As someone who has stayed in this motel many times I can vouch for how absolutely clean these rooms are. Not a speck of dust ANYWHERE. Not the baseboards, tables, corners. How can there be a build up of dust around the tv's as Elsie c says when this motel JUST replaced their televisions to BRAND NEW FLAT SCREENS? Also their bedding is BRAND NEW again, the third new set of bedding in less than two years! This motel prides itself on their service, being family oriented and keeping their motel, which is ALSO their home, clean and updated with quality decore and giving each room a homey feeling. This place is out in the country, if you don't want to find a flying bug in your room take a moment to close your door while unloading your car! If anyone can say nothing but negative in their review while hundreds of reviews are great - they are the liar, not trip advisor or every other reviewer leaving great reviews. Trip Advisor lies! We give it one star because the owners are nice and they have cherry trees out front. We stayed one night in a downstairs corner room. We walked into a room full of insects, flying and crawling. I went over all the surfaces with an alcohol-infused cotton pad and came away with much grime on commonly touched surfaces. There was layers of dust on the base rails, debris on the carpets and my husband said not to look at the ledge where the tv sat. We spent much of the time until we went out to dinner swatting flies and bugs. We continued in the morning before we left. It is the worst place we have stayed at. So sorry to be so negative but it was our experience. read more

This is a fantastic place to stay, fairly close to the Rim road. What makes it so great are the comfortable beds, quaint garden with big BBQ and good A/C. We had a family reunion here. We thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the garden. Watching the moon rise, eating our dinner and went hiking at Crater Lake. This is also close to the river for an afternoon dip. Booked a room here based mostly on positive Yelp reviews. I wish I hadn't. Walls are paper-thin, we listened to the kid in the next room throw a tantrum for like 3 hours in the middle of the night, the internet stopped working for the second half of our stay (and never got fixed), the room was fairly clean but had massive cobwebs in the corners. I stayed here with my boyfriend in the two queen room. The motel is simply decorated and cozy. The bathroom is good sized with simple decor. The bed was comfy. The only downfall was the air freshener that smelled like dried flowers. Some road noise. Great value read more

We had a chance to stay at this quaint little hotel on our trip to Crater Lake. It was very clean and quiet. Definitely a step back in time with using a room key as opposed to a key card but it was really just part of the charm! Came up here to Salmon fish and found this place on the internet. Looks like the Bates motel and was a little skeptical when pulling up. Nobody in the office at 3pm on a Friday. Had to ring the buzzer.. Guy buzzed us in with an infant on his lap. Attempted to check in but the guy said we will do it later as the child was crying.. Not real professional.. Went into the room and was surprised.. Room was clean and looked updated. AC unit didn't work great but after awhile it cooled it down somewhat.. It was 100 degrees that day. Laid on the bed and it was a little hard. Then tried to sleep on it..NOPE.. Tossed and turned all night. Had back pain when I woke. Went fishing at 4am. Came back after fishing at 2pm and was not wanting to sleep on that bed again. The guy came up as we were packing to leave. He was nice and we told him there is no way we could stay the 2nd night!! He told us to see the lady in the office and see if they could credit us for the second night. The lady in the office said there was nothing she could do.. I do understand but you could offer a discount or something.. I would not stay here again.. Others seem to love the beds.. It's my pleasure to write this review for our stay of Nov 3 & 4'18. We feel like we quite by accident found this little blessing of a place. We were initially going to stay in Rogue River but didn't care for the offerings there so we got on the internet and found the MAPLE LEAF MOTEL. Sonja answered and most pleasantly gave us the info needed but not knowing the area, we weren't sure if we could find our way in the dark to Shady Cove. .....Find our way we did and were kindly greeted by the owners though a bit late and subsequently stayed not one night as originally planned but two! This adorable motor lodge is family owned and operated by a sweet couple who truly care about their guests as their rooms prove. EVERYTHING is as neat as a pin!! You'll sleep soundly in a super comfortable bed as did we in peace and quiet. We love small motor lodges in lieu of big, impersonal motel/hotel chains. Down the highway about 1/4 mile you'll be well fed at Mac's Diner situated on the Rogue River....very beautiful! Next time you're in the area...check out and into MAPLE LEAF MOTEL. You'll be glad you did! read more
