My boyfriend and I had a wonderful overnight at Lady Geneva. We booked it a few days prior to our stay. Gloria and Cecil were AMAZING hosts. It was stormy the days of our arrival and departure. They were readily available via text and provided helpful weather updates as well as ensured we arrived home safely after our stay. The storm was so bad, I was also touched that they left lanterns in our room in case of a power outage (which never happened.) They also were extremely sweet, answered all our questions regarding the surrounding area and trivia about the really beautiful home's history. My boyfriend and I wore masks, and Gloria graciously offered to put them on as well (which we declined, but appreciated the offer). We stayed in Lady Florence room--has heating and tons of windows, which open. It is full of antiques (but still comfy and welcoming), had fresh flowers, a motorized bed that can adjust head/feet, a sizable soaking tub, and other unexpected amenities. Also it was EXTREMELY CLEAN. One of the only places I have stayed where I didn't think twice about walking barefoot in my room, or using my towel which fell on the floor. Breakfast was stellar--lots of tea options. The dining table was set for the two of us when we came out of bed; Gloria presented each dish to us (yogurt parfait with generous helping of fresh berries; avocado toast with goat cheese, poached egg, and truffle salt). Within walking distance to downtown (10ish minutes) was a really awesome Forage Cafe, which had some of the best coffee in my trip as well. I would come back in a heartbeat! I paid way more for cheap hotels and horrible air bnbs (on this trip alone!). This was clean, interesting, relaxing, and with a large/healthy breakfast. A great value. The place is full of love and history--treat it with respect, but allow yourself to feel at home. Thank you Gloria and Cecil for the great stay! Wish we stayed longer :)

This is the main area of the home. What you can't see is the sharing library and the beautiful dining room. Lovely B & B.

I called in around 9am to make a reservation and Wendi (the Owner) gladly took us same day for a 12:30pm slot. I told her my boyfriend has some food restrictions like he doesn't like mayo so she was able to make some sandwiches without it. She asked if we want the Princess tea ($35 per head) or the Queen tea ($40 per head) so we chose the Princess set. An hour later we arrived to the The Painted Lady Tea house! Mostly street parking but it's not busy so it was easy to park in front the house. The house entrance had two doors but for some reason the first door you see is locked so you enter the right door side as their entrance. The ambiance of the place was super pretty like each section of the house had different themes. Wendi greeted us and said we can sit anywhere in the house. There was two other groups that was dining and noticed they were wearing cool hats so my boyfriend chose to wear a Jester hat and I chose to wear a frilly flower hat. I saw one group eating the Queen tea set so I asked Wendi if we can change our meal plan to that instead and she was able to make the last minute change. We chose to sit in the green room because it was very earthy, decorated with plants, and had small water fountains. Here is what's inside the modified Queen tea set meal: Appetizer -2x Ginger scone -2x Lemon scone -English Tea -Side of sugar cubes -Side of creamer Entree -Croissant sandwich (Ham, cheese, tomato, leafy greens, mustard, mayo) -Egg sandwich -Curry chicken salad sandwich -6x cucumber cream cheese sandwiches *no mayo* -2x crusted egg quiche -Green grapes -Chocolate dipped tangerines -2x Chocolate crunchy dipped strawberries -2x Chocolate drizzled strawberries Dessert -2x Strawberry ice cream cake -2x Oreo cheesecake My boyfriend got a whole Croissant sandwich since the other sandwiches contained mayo. He ended up not liking it because he didn't know there was mustard in it so he just wiped it off and didn't want to ask for a new one. Most tea places I've been don't usually add mustard into their sandwiches so maybe next time I should've said no sauces or all sauces on the side. Their website menu didn't have any details of the sandwiches, it was very vague. I'm kind of sad he wasn't able to enjoy the other sandwiches with me so I wish there was more no sauce sandwich options or self serve sauces in the future but that's what I get for dating a picky boyfriend lol. I really enjoyed everything and loved the decor of the house! But I felt like the menu had too many sweets. I would be fine with just the scones, dipped strawberries, grapes, and oreo cheesecake but the extra dipped tangerine and strawberry ice cream cake were too much. Maybe I suggest make the strawberry ice cream cake and oreo cheesecake to be bite sized. It would be nice if there was a good ratio of savory like maybe add chips, soup, cheese cubes, or other charcuterie board savory snacks. I still recommend this place! Great place to bring your family and friends to enjoy for a fancy stop over from a long days road trip :)

I saw the many rave reviews and decided that this must be "the place". I'm going to be as objective…read moreas possible while setting the record straight- the staff were all good, and offering breakfast, appetizers and cookies/fire/s'mores in the evening was a really nice touch. As others have mentioned, the breakfast wasn't great, but we were travelling with little kids so having something to get the day started is really important (A for effort, C- for execution). They had a decent selection of beer and wine to order in the evenings (at reasonable prices for a hotel). The grounds were pretty nice. Things fall short of expectations when you get to the accommodations and location. Our cabin felt old and dilapidated, not "historic" in the sense of the Ahwahnee Lodge (Yosemite) or Lake MacDonald Lodge (Glacier). You walk in to a slightly damp environment that smells a bit like septic mixed with old camp fire. The couch, and carpet were pretty gross. Beds were mediocre, and although the sheets looked clean, the setup wasn't exactly confidence inspiring. Rooms are not cleaned daily, and since we have little people in diapers, we opted to just put the trash can outside. Perhaps the worst part was that we were put into the AFrame cabin with no possibility to change rooms (that's not what I booked). There's a steep ladder that leads to the second bed upstairs. This arrangement is not realistic or safe with toddlers. Overall, everything was just, kinda... shabby. "Historic" in the context of the Weasku is a euphemism for "run-down". As for location, if you think you're going to be right on the Rogue, you'd be mistaken. There's an irrigation ditch that runs directly behind the cabins, fed by a pump house about 100 yards away. If you do walk down to the river, be careful because this section is very dangerous/inhospitable. The river is really swift there, so it's not good for fishing (yes, no fishing spots there!), not good for kids, no beach stuff... but plenty of spiked berry brambles and poison oak if that's your thing. Road noise is constant and detracts from the vibe of peaceful seclusion. Interstate 5 is hidden by trees just on the other side of the river, so you'll hear that all night long. As for Grants Pass, unless you've got a reason to be there, you'd be better off somewhere like Ashland. The Weasku served our needs, and we all escaped without bedbugs or scabies. Would I stay again? Not if you paid me. Rating reflects great staff and nice grounds, with negative stars for accommodations.

I saw some very positive reviews for The Weasku Inn on the Rogue River, so I booked it. I am SO glad I did! The lodge is nostalgic of days gone by, built in 1924-- so quaint and lovely. On arrival, a warm staff met us and we checked in to a picturesque cabin facing the river. Perfect! King sized SUPER comfy bed stacked high with lovely quilts. The cabin featured a lovely mountain-style, working rock fireplace with a comfy couch facing the fireplace, looking out onto the trees with the river beyond. The cabin had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. The Weasku offers "appetizers" in the evening--which really is more like a meal. If you are still hungry after the appetizer hours, which we were not, restaurants for dinner are just a quick 5 minute drive away. There is a bar available to purchase wines, beer and ciders, if you wish, available all day long with complementary coffees and teas, as well. And the FULL breakfast is SO well done; not like those plastic, poorly done "breakfasts" served at many places--THIS is a proper, complete breakfast meal. There is a fire pit for evenings and complementary "s'more"kits are available for toasting on the fire. The Weasku staff were so warm and friendly and all seemed to be pleased to see us! We will most certainly return to this lovely spot. If what you want is a respite from the crazy, a quiet cozy place to relax and comfortable accommodations, you will love The Weasku. Amenities worth mentioning: Cabin includes: *TV *Hair dryer *Complimentary Wi-fi *Charging station for

From the early-morning coffee and scones to a delightful, filling breakfast, the seque to the afternoon tea, and the finish with sherry or port in the evening, you'll share Ashland, life, and Anne Hathaway's itself with the other guests and come away the better for it. We talked about plans and great finds in the city, discussed the plays, dissected the acting and directing styles, and agreed to disagree with a graciousness our legislators need to emulate. The staff was friendly and more-than-competent, echoing the owners' vibe that they were glad we were here. At breakfast, several young local students served. They were attentive without hovering and well-trained without seeming officious. The morning scones (ginger/apricot and cranberry/almond, truly awesome the two mornings we were there) and coffee or tea are available an hour before breakfast. You can grab the house copy of the NY Times or Wall Street Journal to catch up on what is happening in the non-Shakespeare world. Follow that with an excellent breakfast in the back-yard garden area. Breakfast started with a generous fruit course (fresh local berries were in season), accompanied by scones and coffee/tea/fresh-squeezed orange juice. Our first morning we enjoyed a frittata with oven-roasted potatoes and crispy bacon (turkey bacon was also available). Our second breakfast featured a layered berry French toast with a buttermilk syrup as well as chicken sausage. Both mornings the staff asked if we wished more! Would have loved it, but there was just no room. Tables for four or six facilitated getting to know the other guests well. If you want a copy of a recipe, just ask and it appears. I know it's a small thing, but I can't remember the last time we used the sterling silver at breakfast - at least until we got to this B and B. The four o'clock tea featured warm homemade chocolate chip or orange sugar cookies, cheeses and crackers, cashews, fresh fruit, and peanut butter pretzels. This treat can really take the edge off, so all you want is a light dinner. Iced tea and lemonade slaked our thirsts on the hot afternoons. When we got home after the shows, we'd enjoy a drink and revel in each other's company. We guests were strangers when we arrived at Anne Hathaway's. We weren't when we departed. Anne Hathaway's is a charming and beautifully maintained home. The front room has floor-to-ceiling bookshelves crammed with any reading material you might want. The rooms are cozy and comfortable and bursting with art. Make sure you find the red glass heart in the room and get your reward for it. We also appreciated the green, sustainable mindset of the owners and staff. My wife wasn't thrilled when I originally booked Anne Hathaway's instead of our customary B and B. Now we both can't wait to return.
