Besides the nice facility, good food, great staff, and friendly residents she especially enjoys all of the varied activities that she gets to do with the other residents. The Belmont provides many activities there for them and the staff also takes the residents out to other places for meals and for fun. My Mother is in the choral group, the Saturday night movie group, the Bingo group, the Sunday afternoon excursion group and several more. And they all say that she never misses Happy Hour! When my Mother reached her 90's, my husband and I visited every place in town, we felt that the Belmont would be the place my Mother would like the best. It was sunny, clean, well-designed, pet friendly, and welcoming. We are so glad when she often tells us how happy she is living there.

I found that no matter how many times I ask staff to please present food ready to eat, they still continued to just drop off food, sometimes at the counter and not cut into small bite size pieces and left still enclosed. (She can't use walker and carry her food to the table.) Had I not been there, she would not have been able to eat most of her food and would not have been able to drink at all because all drinks are sealed. Some of the staff was better than others at helping her and to chose from the menu. The place is a great place but I was reminded that it is an assisted living facility. Overall, Staff could use better training.

Additionally, the front door was left unlocked on the way out, leaving me in a dangerous and precarious position when I was least able to handle a situation like that. My pain medications were missing as well, unfortunately. When I contacted BrightStar about my experience, the owner/ manager could have cared less. Very indifferent to the care their organization provides. Do yourself a favor and avoid this business at all costs.

The director does not make the residents happy by planning activities they enjoy and love. The activities that are planned are for the convenience of the director only. There job was to work on getting her strength back with PT and OT. First of all this facility provides the absolute bare minimum rehabilitation times for patients on Medicare. She would receive less than one hour of therapy Monday thru Friday and on the weekends less than 20 mins. Her medicines were with held from her especially her lasix because they did not want to have to help her to the restroom (it makes you pee). They used every single one of her days provided by Medicare and then we paid for 10 extra days out of pocket. We ended up having to call 911 from the facility because she developed blood clots in her lungs and had severe pneumonia. She spent 10 days in the hospital and then we brought her home we have had care takers come to the house and she has drastically improved. My pros about this facility is that it is clean. My cons the nurses have no idea what is going on with care. The administration has no idea what is going on with care. They will try to suck every dime out of your insurance and your pocket. Stay AWAY!
