The traffic died down as night fell and the babbling river right next door covered any sound cars in the middle of the night might have made, at least from where we were camping. And there was no traffic at all in the early morning. The bathroom in the day use area, next to where we were camping, was spotless at all times. The camp host was friendly and laughed at all my jokes and had plenty of firewood. We loved it here, and would love to stay here again. Motorcyclists - i highly recommend spot #14! There is a lot of light - not the greatest place to star gaze. But still loved it. Not sure if everyone was quite during quiet hours because they cared or because the camp host is strict - either way, it was awesome.

What a pleasant surprise…read more As we were making our way down the Oregon Coast, we decided to stop here because it was extremely foggy. Foggy mornings equal great morning walks for me. What we didn't realize was that there was a large campground tucked behind the dunes, because in the dense fog, we couldn't see much of anything. We ended up walking the very secluded beach for several hours until the fog began to lift. The beach is open to everyone, even if you're not camping, and it stretches for miles in both directions with soft sand the entire way. Sometimes those random, unplanned stops end up being the best discoveries. If I ever decide to camp, this is absolutely a place I'd look into. The campground is literally right on the water. And if you're just exploring the beach, there's plenty of free parking all around and no admission fees required.
