He is one of the few doctors that will follow up with a phone call after lab tests, something that most doctors no longer do. The reception area is clean, the staff is pleasant and organized. It's impossible to get information, make or break an appointment, or talk to anyone who knows…read moreanything. Their automated AI phone system is worthless. When you finally get to the "operator," the only thing he can do is take a message. Then when the right person returns your call, you had better be waiting by the phone! Otherwise they leave you a message and you have to go through the whole ordeal all over again! As an example of how bad communication is within the office, I managed to reschedule my endoscopy and received email confirmation. Of the change. But the office then called to confirm my original appointment. The RN with whom I had my original consultation was worthless too. She could care less about me, didn't have the medical experience necessary to understand my medical concerns, and didn't try to understand them. The only reason I tried so hard to get an appointment there was to see Dr. Gill, because he had treated my brother. But I never got to see him, not even in prep for my procedure. I canceled the procedure after all of that. I decided that seeing a great doctor was not worth all of the aggravation, miscommunication, lack of communication, and the number inexperienced people required to get to him. Really too bad.

Even though I told him I had already seen my cardiologist and she had told me to not have the test done without receiving IV fluids. See I have POTS (Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome). The fluid loss would cause me to have multiple syncope spells as well as set my system up for multiple days staying in a hospital. He flat out refused..saying I could just drink enough water to stay hydrated. Not only is he uneducated on proper updated medical issues he was so unwilling to even listen to me. I left the office with a "our staff will call you to schedule your test". I called 2 weeks later and left a message with the scheduling department to please give me a call to talk about my issues and to hopefully schedule my test. Another week went by and I called and again and left another message. Nothing. I called my PCP and she game me another doctor to go see. I had my consult and I am scheduled for surgery already with them. Today, 8 weeks later this office finally called me to schedule with them. Had I tried to wait it out with them I would have had a rupture and needed emergency surgery. I definitely would not recommend this office or this doctor for your care. Please advocate for yourself and demand better treatment. This is not what our healthcare should be like.

I decided to get a second opinion. I went back to Dr Lewis' last week to schedule an appointment because I think I am going into a flare of the Crohn's and was told that because I went for a second opinion, I was no longer welcome in their office, per Dr Lewis. This is pretty poor care, in my opinion. It is a patients right to get a second opinion, in fact, some insurances require a second opinion. So now, I am in a flare, having symptoms and have to find another doctor, which there are no others in the area. I would not recommend this office to anyone. I am not sure why any provider would not encourage a patient to get a second opinion.
