Today I debated what I wanted for lunch/dinner but I knew I wanted something savory and closer to home, So I stopped by this place from a recommendation . I wanted Lamb once I seen it on the menu "Next Time Oxtails " so i placed the order and they had most of the food on display so I knew what sides I wanted but can't front when I got the lamb because they cook to order i picked my sides , Mac and Cheese and DjoN DjoN rice and plantains . I got home and sat at my kitchen table and began the tasting of the meal and I was completely satisfied with the taste the flavor . This is for us who enjoy a great flavorful meal with the great traditions of Haitian and New Orleans Culture . They have blended the 2 masterfully . I can't wait to go back for the third time because I been a second time as I wrote this review

The oxtail and salmon egg rolls were amazing! They were both full of meat and seasoned to perfection! On the weekends they have black rice and authentic Haitian food! Check them out

Ep. 103 of AntlantaEats This spot has been on my radar for months! Opened Summer 2021, today I finally stopped thru. What caught my attention is they OVER HERE SERVING OXTAIL & SALMON EGGROLLS! Sheesh! When I say the hype is real ! No disappoint on my end. I haven't even mentioned the Haitian Spaghetti yet! Plate is a great size (leftovers please!) Inside was flavorful mixed. I loved the seasoning on the shrimp & the sausage. Bonus + on adding the boiled egg. Note: They get very busy especially during the weekends so be patient or plan to arrive during the weekday

If you're looking for real authentic Haitian food like Miami, this isn't it. I repeat this not authentic Haitian food. Macaroni is not your traditional grati macaroni, and they don't serve griot. I suggest you call to see what they have, because they didnt have a lot when I got there at 1:00pm on a Saturday. I drove 45 minutes to try this place because of Instagram. Unfortunately I was disappointed. There are better authentic Haitian restaurants that have all of the famous Haitian dishes. I would rate this place 5/10.

the potion sizes are getting smaller and the prices are increaseing.. It is $12.00 for three egg rolls.. Not to long ago it was 3 egg rolls for $8.00. Today I got the Haitian Spaghetti, it doesn't taste the same anymore. They have definitely changed the recipe. It wasn't flavorful at all and was full of nothing but grease.

Jerk turkey wings over yellow rice, Mac and cheese, with stewed green beans. Chicken and shrimp jerk pasta.

Wow! Talk about bang for your buck! This place was amazing. The food was extremely flavorful and the amount of food they loaded onto the plate was enough for two people even though you won't want to share. The jerk turkey wings were falling off the bone and the rice was perfect. I cannot wait to go back for the jerk egg rolls and stewed string beans! The pasta was I little too spicy for me but overall it was delicious and piping hot.

I stood in line for an hour. The food was okay. The oxtails was falling off the bones. The cabbage was crunchy . The Mac n cheese had a Smokey taste to it . I really didn't care for it . I also had the peach cobbler Hennessy cake. I'm not a fan of liquor so I didn't care for the cake but the peach cobbler was amazing ! I would go again to try something different

Richard went above and beyond anything we could have asked for our wedding and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a full service caterer and staffing for your wedding and/or event. We initially reached out to Richard looking for a vendor to make appetizers for our wedding (we had different vendors for the other courses). He had a wide selection of foods choices, where we selected four appetizers, our personal favorite (and the one with rave reviews from our guests) was the Mediterranean Grilled Lamb Chops with Cilantro Mint Aioli. In addition to the food, Richard offered very competitive pricing on other services as well - servers, bartenders, linen rentals, silver wear, full bar package, and so on. He was very conscious of our budget and offered multiple alternatives for each decision, which was greatly appreciated. Since our reception was at a venue where we could bring our own food and alcohol, it also required us to take care of everything else. Having Richard to take care of so many items was such a huge blessing.

The servers were so helpful, friendly, and joyful during and before event. There were even three chefs, one of them a head chef, actually in attendance making food at the party. After the party, I found out that DeSilva even made a lot of custom orders for the party guests. Positive critique from the party attendees was that some of the food was cut too large to eat in one bite and they were not served with silverware such as the salmon shooters. The negatives: the owner missed her appointment to view our space, then showed up late to the reschedule appointment, and showed up at the start of the party. The owner's response was that she was bringing the hot food and wanted to show up as close to the party start as possible to keep the hot food hot. Showing up at the start of the party did not give us time to inform her of a few changes we made. We had purchased additional food to serve as sides to their passed hors d' oeuvres because there was lot of concern from our HQ the closer we got to the party about alcohol consumption, and concern from our employees about being full. We were going to put this out ourselves but the chefs from the caterer insisted that they would put the food out for us. I don't want to really go into it, but they put our food out so late and in such a small quantity that I feel like it was a power move by the chef to make sure their food received a spotlight. We should have served our sides ourselves as planned because our people love that type of stuff. There was a lot of waste. Part of our event package was pre-packaged to-go boxes for our guests which were to include cupcakes and macaroons. We received 150 cupcakes which received mixed reviews, some extremely good and some not, but no macaroons. We do appreciate the owner attempting to make it right by bringing fresh macaroons for our holiday lunch (arrived after the lunch) but we only received 47 boxes with two macaroons in each. Our headcount for the party was 150 people, the owner's response when asked if there were 150 macaroons was "I didn't know how many people you have". Also, one box of 2 was missing, and one box only had 1 macaroon in it. I don't think the desserts were worth $3k. The most aggravating issue was that we were charged $500 for cleanup and breakdown and the catering company did not clean up. They brought a grease fryer to cook the food and did not clean up the greasy floors that were caused by using the appliance, 10 over-full trash bags were left leaking all over the floor, the food that was dropped during preparation wasn't attempted to be picked up. They somehow used up all of our cleaning supplies without actually cleaning. The owner's response was that she was told (by someone who was not their point of contact) not to worry about cleaning and that we have a cleaning crew that would come clean the following day. They had been using this person as a point of contact instead of calling me because they "saw I was having a good time". I did not get to join the party until after 8pm, even then I was available to all of our vendors the entire time. She also said that she didn't know if there was a mop. Any of us could have provided this. The catering team was gone within an hour of the party ending. Leaving without telling me even though they did see me to ask me if I liked their cupcake. My team had to come in and clean the filthy nightmare that they left the next day. So in the end, would I recommend DeSilva's Kitchen? Yes, but with caution. The food and service was great, and your guests will enjoy them. However, you may be incredibly frustrated behind-the-scenes.

I made the initial contact with Figs and Honey to make sure they were available on our date and that they would be willing to travel to our obscure and out-of-the-way venue at a nature conservation center in Newton County. After confirming those two details, Mr. P. handled the rest of the planning. He reports that the lines of communication were always open and our event planner (Debbie) made everything very easy. Since we live in Denver, we weren't able to attend a tasting prior to making food selections. The menu is large and varied and everything sounded delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't have an unlimited budget, so we had to narrow things down and make smart choices. We wanted some passed apps while everyone waited for the happy couple to arrive, a few more passed apps after the vow renewal ceremony, and a buffet dinner. We supplied our own cake, which F&H kindly cut and served for us. Here was our menu: Apps: - Greek Skewers (Kalamata olive, grape tomato, artichoke and cucumber in feta vinaigrette} - Caprese Skewers (grape tomato, fresh mozzarella & Kalamata olive in basil pesto) - Bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with goat cheese - Crostini of barbecued chicken, queso fresco and cilantro slaw - Bruschetta with rosemary white bean hummus, caramelized onion, feta cheese and black olive Entrees: - Marinated Beef Tenderloin Au Pois - Lemon Artichoke Chicken Breast Sides: - Rosemary roasted potatoes - Grilled asparagus - Mixed greens salad We, and our guests, were extremely impressed with both the food and the service. Julia and her crew were on the ball! Anytime they had a question or concern, or anything we didn't even consider, she was quick to ask and come up with solutions. I feel like we really lucked out with excellent food and terrific service without having met anyone from Figs and Honey in person until just a couple of hours before our event began. The pricing was competitive compared to other area caterers, especially considering all the various menu options and the quality of the food. As Julia said to me, you hire a caterer so you can enjoy your party. Figs and Honey made everything run smoothly for us and we can't thank them enough for contributing in a big way to a memorable golden anniversary celebration.

The food was only set up when the event was already halfway over, which was extremely disappointing. While the food itself tasted good once served and the staff was courteous upon arrival, the complete lack of communication and reliability made the event stressful and unprofessional. Catering relies heavily on timing, and this experience fell far short of expectations for the price point. To this day, the owner, Clair, has never reached out to even communicate with me about what occurred. I would not recommend this caterer for time-sensitive events unless they improve their professionalism, punctuality, and client communication.
