I was visiting the place and had no idea where to find vegan brunch but yelp came to my rescue. I went this shop based on a review that mentioned they have vegan food and they did. I had vegan morning sandwich with vegan donut and vegan mocha latte and it was DELICIOUS. Please try it, if the line is long then it's worth the wait, go for it. Oh also, the location is so amazing that while waiting you can go for a good walk. read more

Smells so good the second you walk in! Cute little bakery right off the corner of 4th and Main. Frankfort has the cutest downtown ever and I'll argue with anyone about it. We came here by chance because Bella's kitchen was closed. Worked out wonderfully! They have a delicious display of pastries but I went straight for a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich. I also got a sausage one. The sandwiches came on the crispy, buttery, perfectly toasted sourdough bread, a light mayo, and the tastiest Asiago cheese blend. The breakfast sandwich was perfect! Held both my husband and I over until dinner. Definitely recommend stopping in! By luck, I missed a line, but don't be afraid to wait. I love the Crescent Bakery. I've been going here since forever. My favorite pastry is the cherry cheese croissant. Yum! Almond and chocolate croissants are not bad either. I think if they were a NYC pastry shop, they would figure out how to separate coffee only people, from food orders and speed things up. But it's ok. I also wish they were open more. But it's ok. Am just happy they are still there on Main St. read more

Crescent Bakery & Cafe is a cute little cafe that has a wide selection of desserts and sandwiches. Since Frankfort is of course a small town the place gets really busy. I visited early in the morning closer to when they opened and it was still a handful of people getting serviced. When I walked past later in the day they had a line of people. I tried one of the breakfast sandwiches and ordered a few pastries. Hopefully, I don't think they place would be as popular if there wasn't small selection of places that open early. Everything was mid at best. The breakfast sandwich was beyond bland. I couldn't even finish it because it tasted like I was eating nothing. Maybe if I had salt and pepper I could've finished it. I rarely see a place that would make you choose Dunkin Donuts over them. I have been spoiled with assuming a mom and pop style place would have a higher quality of food. Great doughnuts and baked goods, plus sandwiches for breakfast or lunch. Lovely pressed tin ceiling, wonderful collection of cookie jars, and nice place to sit and people watch along the street. I got the chicken pecan sandwich, which comes on a pretzel bun. Delicious sandwich; just the right size; but $11.75. Giving this place 5 stars and have only ordered their huge, buttery pretzels. They are delicious and fluffy with a good bite to them. My aunt recommended them to us when we visited back in Nov 2020 and had to order them again this summer. Oh so good donuts! You would think this place needs to rename their cafe the Crescent Bakery and DONUT cafe by the love they give this fried treat. We were driving back home after a trip near Traverse City and I had a huge craving for donuts. We unfortunately didn't get a chance to stop by one of my favorite places Peace Love and Donuts (they have such cute mini donuts) but I digress as fate makes it own course sometimes.... By still indulging in my search for a great donut it brought forth amazingly tasty and big donuts at Crescent Bakery. They had glazed, cinnamon, Boston creme, maple glazed bacon, and others. I picked my two faves of glazed and Boston cream. The donuts were soft, fluffy, and delicious. Everything you would want in a donut. The staff was friendly and patient as I stared at all their lovely donuts. The place is small and there were other baked goods there too, like bread but my eyes were only on the prize that day... Thank you Crescent Bakery you made me believe there are still amazing donuts in the world. You rock! read more

I moved to the area a year ago and have been looking for a great local bakery/coffee spot to frequent. Crescent's hours are great, opening up at 7am, and their doughnuts are tasty. Breakfast sandwiches are good, not great. I went yesterday around 11am to grab a sweet treat and a coffee, and the coffee was lukewarm and in my opinion too strong. I have worked in the restaurant service industry for years and I know the ins and outs of hospitality. In my opinion, whoever is working should be constantly sampling the coffee throughout the day, and if it is sub-par you should pull it and brew a fresh pot. Or, keep track of the time it was brewed, and every hour refresh it. These are easy way to ensure your costumers are getting a quality product. I'm kind of a stickler for these kinds of things, as well as excellent customer service. In my opinion, the customer service hasn't stuck out as extremely friendly in my experiences. This place has such potential to be GREAT! But it's just not there right now. However, it's the only bakery around. And therefore, probably won't change its ways due to not having competition. read more

Legit, fresh, to-go breakfast in Frankfort! Saturday morning on a holiday weekend meant there was a small line out the door, customers waiting to grab their favorite doughnuts or breakfast sandwiches. The staff remained incredibly friendly despite the crowd. Really kind folks here at Crescent Bakery. My egg & cheese panini featured freshly baked sourdough and was perfectly seasoned, simple and delicious. Their brewed coffee is brewed from Leelanau Coffee which is only okay. Their espresso drinks might be better? Would totally return to this little gem. A great small-town bakery making quality products! read more

What a pleasant surprise! Came to sightsee and do some shopping during our vacation to Manistee -came up the shore for the day to this delightful little site! The recommendations from the staff, the smiles, and the service was an exemplary sample of the Michigan hospitality we have come to love our annual vacation! The coffee bar is well stocked - Both with variety and service! The barista was well equipped with suggestions and smiles! The bakery held delicious unique deserts (cherry fitters!) as well as the well lived traditional delights. The menu again held a variety of choices - satisfying both the young with its safe & familiar kid's menu while offering the more mature patrons with savory combinations (Applejack stack & shrimp & corn chowder soup). Seating can get a bit tight during peak hours, but it's no wonder with such a great establishment as this! read more

If you survive the wait this place is worth it. I had to wait about 20 minutes to place my order as the line was very long. Once inside the line moved pretty quickly. The doughnuts were some of the best I've ever had. I suggest the Maple Bacon doughnuts, they look weird but are delicious! read more

Mike's pastry shop was established at this location in the 1950s. It transformed to Crescent Bakery in 2001. The name comes from our famous crescent shaped doughnuts available in both glazed and nutty. In June of 2008, the bakery was the setting for scenes in the movie "Youth in Revolt".
