Tucked away in a beach neighborhood is this "Vista Point." There is signage to eliminate proposals or fancy picnics. I was disappointed to see trash at the half circle concrete benches since there was a trash can only 2 feet away. The residence or city keeps the seating stones and statues in clean, good condition. Beautiful park overlooking the ocean. Grassy area. Stone benches. Natal plum plants (with long THORNS) are abundant. I am told by residents that the sunsets are beautiful from here. "Natal plum (Carissa macrocarpa or C. grandifolia) blooms mainly in summer, and sporadically all year long so that throughout most of the year you'll have both flowers and pretty little red fruit present on the shrub. The star-like flowers are about 2 inches (5 cm.) in diameter and have thick, waxy petals. The edible, bright red, plum-shaped fruit tastes like cranberries, and you can use it to make jam or jelly....all parts of the plant, except the fully ripe berries, are poisonous." read more

This is a small and amazing spot if you want to picnic outside, or just hang out. It's located in an area full of houses though, so parking can be difficult on busy days - Good luck! There is a small grass area where you can lay out towels, chairs, and umbrellas. Then there are benches closer to the edges of the cliff where you can sit and relax while enjoying the ocean sounds and watching the beachgoers below. What's nice is that the benches have their own little "nook" which means that you will probably get people who will stop by and take a look at the scenery, but they won't stay for very long unless they like being awkward. There's also an area where you can stand and look out towards the side of the cliffs for a nice photo opp. This is a great area and I would definitely come back with a good book! read more

So when I rolled up, I was surprised that the only parking available was on an unoccupied curb, and that it was a super tiny park, with super spectacular views! You can bring a tripod, but you dont have to, as there are railings all around for you to stabilize your arms on, while you get that great phone photo. BTW: To get here, you'll most likely be on a toll road, so don't forget to pay your tolls at https://www.thetollroads.com/ ... because you only get a 5 day before/after your visit to pay for your tolls on their website. Beautiful tiny park nestled away just off the Coast Highway on a bluff overlooking the ocean. Located a bit south of Crystal Cove. While driving into Laguna Beach I noticed a sign indicating a "vista point" and my curiosity led me to investigate. While the little park and its colorful floral garden is lovely, the view is amazing. I stood for half an hour watching dolphins play in the waters below and a whale briefly surface and blow out its spout in the near distance. People were swimming in the waters of Crescent Bay Beach and a handful of scuba divers were having underwater adventures. Children were exploring tidepools in the rocky terrain below and a seal or two would occasionally pop their heads out of the water not too far from shore. I watched a couple get engagement photos taken here. I thought this would be a perfect place to propose marriage or even to get married. Reading other reviews, apparently this is a popular spot for those wanting a small wedding with one of the most gorgeous views along the coast as the backdrop. Sometimes we need to stop our busy lives for a few minutes and enjoy a moment at a place like this. read more

Although I've been coming to this spot for almost 20 years, I never thought of checking in until recently. My friends and I hike in North Laguna off the Dartmoor trailhead and almost always stop by this park to end the hike. Over the years I've seen everything from Dolphins, to sharks to whales swimming by off Seal Rock. On a few more adventurous outings I've even some nude photo shoots on the rocks below. I've been here during weddings, birthday parties, prom pictures, anniversaries and wedding proposals. It may sound like it's busy, but it never really is crowded and you can always get a shot of the view you want. This location is absolutely beautiful at all times of the day and you can find it easy to just hang out here for hours if you don't have anything else planned. Man what a fabulous, peaceful and gorgeous place to picnic, rest & enjoy the view. We've been here twice now and both times were definitely tons of fun! First off, it's great to make the drive to escape from the 120 dry global warming degree weather to 80 chill cool breeze beach degree weather. We set up our Costco mats/tent for the babies, allowed them to run around in the grass area & brought them to enjoy the beach/ocean view. Now, there isn't a playground or toys or anything like that so this place is meant for peace and relaxation. A lot of local residents loved bringing their dogs around too, and they're all so friendly! We ordered Dominos Pizza which was perfect! There was a nearby convenient store so we picked up some sodas & water & appreciated the view and weather. The ONLY thing that's pretty annoying is the parking. Because this is a small area around a somewhat small neighborhood, people are constantly driving around to find parking. Not only is this place great for small gatherings to picnic and enjoy, it's great for photo shoots. Whether it's for weddings or normal occasions, this place has great backgrounds & lighting! So you'll definitely get more benefits from it. Definitely will come back, especially if another heat wave hits! read more

Small public park with great ocean view! Can get pretty busy on weekends with different events and parking can be a hassle. Some residents are nice, a few can be questioning and don't understand it's a public park. We were quiet and respectful of people enjoying their leisurely walk at the park and the residents nearby. I don't know why that particular resident kept on bugging us. One event planner was asking us to leave stating they rented the ENTIRE park for the wedding. There was a mariachi band playing so loud on the grass area. Nope, we didn't leave and enjoyed the area until sunset. Don't pay attention to narrow-minded and feeling entitled people as long as you are being respectful. No public restroom so do your business before going. read more

My husband and I were looking for a place in the OC to hang out on a sunny Saturday, and I found this place on yelp.com! I convinced my husband to check out this park and we're so glad we did! While I've been to Laguna Beach numerous times in the past, I've never been to this hidden gem. :) This park is relatively small, you can walk through it in less than 20 minutes -- however, don't be deterred by the small-ness of it! This park is nestled in a cliff-side neighborhood, and the views from the park are absolutely gorgeous! It reminded me of Hawaii to some extent, but without the sea turtles, haha.... You can see cliffs (with expensive / ritzy houses on them - overlooking the ocean) and waves crashing against rocks in the ocean. My husband even spotted a sea lion! What a treat for a weekend stroll! :) There are plenty of benches in this park for you to sit and enjoy a picnic or people-watching, if you so desire. This place is absolutely stunning beautiful view or should I say near perfect view. Not far of a drive from West Covina parking is limited on the street. We found parking fast so really didn't look for anything or see any parking lot. There is a flight of stairs you must go down so not wheel chair or anything wheeled friendly. Very clean also not crowded everyone has there space so made everything easier for us to get a good spot and a wonderful view. This hidden gem is so cute!! Definitely a good date spot for any couple or even a place to hang out with friends and family. There's a grassy area right before the lookout point where you can hang out and maybe even have a picnic! The lookout point itself has a lot of seating areas, so you'll be able to enjoy the sunset and the views. I never even knew this was here until December '12, when my now bf insisted we take a little cruise after a dinner date and we ended up in this hidden little spot. I've been to Emerald Bay and Shaw's Cove many times, it was where I did one of my open water dives in my scuba course..but never even realized this cute little park was nestled away on the bluff, overlooking the ocean. Stunning views, especially at night, a great place to take a date that's for sure(^_~). The park is up the road off of Coast Hwy, tucked into the housing area in the back. They actually have a nice little area, big enough for a few small groups(4-6 people) to congregate without being on top of each other which is nice. Since then, we've coming back at various points of the day. The sunrise is gorgeous, especially after its just rained and the sky is completely clear. During the morning and early afternoon you can watch dolphins frolicking in the waves below, or enjoy a picnic lunch and be visited by a family of little white bunnies that are park residents! In the evening, the sky paints a lovely picture that is never the same, but always beautiful. I love the bluish, purpley, sort of pink evening sky, and this view rarely disappoints. Come visit late night and you'll be treated to a stunning view of the stars, and moons reflection playing across the waves which look inky black. It's pretty cool. Take a jacket depending on the weather, it gets pretty cool up here! If you've never been, go. Take someone, or go alone. Either way, you will be rewarded with one of the most amazing views nature has to offer. Beautiful. I'm from flat-Florida so I'm totally blown away by the west coast. Crescent Bay is small cove with sandy beaches and plenty of rocks to climb on, over and around. Seal Rock is a stones-throw from the shore and while we didn't see any seals, we saw lots of birds, little fish, crabs and sea anemone in the tide pools. Walking paths are available to give you a birds eye view if you aren't interested in getting sandy or climbing on rocks. read more

( I hope) This is the best kept secret in the Laguna Beach area... I like to call it the Moment of Truth Spot... cos if you don't get a rise from your significant other here afterwards, you'll find out these 2 truths: 1... That person is not into you and 2... Gotta find someone else to bring here until that happens (repeat as many times as needed) This is also a MakeOut point during sunset. times... It is absolutely GORGEOUS here... Your significant other will LOVE the scenery and perhaps might fizzle up some feelings towards you, but all the elements are there.. nature is on your side with this... so don't mess it up down the stretch... Parking is free and if you like to walk about 5 to 10 minutes down the slopes to the right, you'll hit a secluded beach and you can play with more sand.... Literally the most beautiful place on earth! The view from The Point is extremely breath taking! You are able to see down the coast, all the way to Dana Point! I can't imagine a person writing a bad review about this place! The only negative I can think about, is the hike to get there (only if you walk, if you drive then there is no hike). This place has an amazing view and is normally not crowded. You can enjoy the company of rabbits in the grass and birds flying around. This location is also well known for getting married! We had our wedding ceremony here! It was a perfectly affordable little gem for an intimate ceremony. With a wedding permit thru the city of Laguna Beach, you're allowed a total of 50 people (including your officiant, photographer, etc) for a 2 hour block. I wanted a beach ceremony but I knew my MIL and Grandma would have trouble navigating the sand. With the park up high on the bluff overlooking the Pacific, I still got the amazing backdrop I was looking for. We took photos on the grassy area. A few park visitors showed up but were respectful of our ceremony and stayed back until it was over. It's a public park so obviously I knew that was a possibility but I didn't mind. One of my favorite psych professors claimed this place to be "one of the most romantic places in Laguna." Apparently, sometimes you can see dolphins playing out in the distance and makes for a beautiful sunrise/sunset. Naturally, I brought one of my friends here! Hah. This is more of a viewpoint than an actual park to me. The grass area was a bit small for a park, but when you walk past it, you get quite a view. It overlooks Crescent Bay beach on the left and to the right you see towering cliffs. When you look at the ocean you can see for miles. No dolphins, but I saw a sea lion on one of the lonely rocks out at sea. I guess that this miiight be romantic, but obviously at the right time and with the right person. Problem? How do I get down to the beach? You can't! Or at least I think you can't. While there I tried to go down but with no luck. Keep in mind that this park is also inside a residential area, if you walk into it, you won't be going anywhere because there's no beach access. I wouldn't mind having a picnic here. Hands down my favorite view and beach in OC.. I took my family about a year ago when I discovered it and we've been coming ever since. The water is crystal clear and looks as though you're in a beach in Cancun on sunny days. You even see people snorkeling. I also like the fact that it's a smaller beach and is more private. The view from the park is beautiful and you can get the best pics from the park. In the summer it does get pretty crowded though so plan on coming earlier if you're planning a beach day .. read more
