I've been coming to Inspiration Point for many years, and I still enjoy it every time I visit. I usually bring my dog here for a walk so She can enjoy the ocean breeze and watch the sunset with me. Sometimes I bring a blanket, sit on the grass, and bring some food to have a little picnic. It's a simple thing, but I always enjoy spending time here with the ocean view and the sound of the waves. I also like that they have bags available the area in case you need to clean up after your dog. I noticed there is a one of stations near the end of the street where you can grab them. From here, you can walk down toward little Corona del Mar and get closer to the beach. You can also walk on the sand, but personally I prefer staying up here because it feels cleaner and more convenient when I don't need to go down to the beach. Street parking is available nearby, but you may need to drive around a little to find a spot for parallel parking. read more

This is a truly beautiful place to stop by. We came here on a Friday closer to sunset and we had luck finding parking near by. From the main lookout, there's a downhill path that leads you to another scenic viewpoint. It's a great place to slow down and enjoy nature. read more

How could Inspiration Point be anything else besides five stars? One of the most scenic spots in Orange County. I love catching the sunset from here, especially when the clouds are just right. With daylight savings time back in effect, it's convenient to enjoy a beautiful beach sunset. Parking was a little difficult to find with the narrow residential roads. However, it's definitely worth the drive to take in the views. The coastal bluff has a walkway that takes you down to the beach. From the viewpoints on top of the bluff, you can see boats sailing back to Newport Harbor during sunset. There's little lamplight once it gets dark, so most people leave the area then. Inspiration Point has become one of my favorite spots to take pictures of ocean views and hang out with friends. read more

Truly a serene surprise in Newport Beach. I stumbled upon this beautiful overlook unexpectedly while walking toward the beach and I'm so glad I did. The area is well-kept with a tiny park and with a safe path that leads right up to a point where you can stand and watch the waves crash against the cliffs below. I arrived just as the sun was beginning to set, and the view was absolutely stunning. Despite it being a popular spot, especially in the summertime. there was a calm, respectful atmosphere. People took turns soaking in the view, which made the experience feel even more special. There's also a small path leading down to the beach where people were playing and enjoying the sand. It's a peaceful place to pause and take in the moment and admiring the beachfront homes. I came here alone, as did many others, but it's also the kind of spot that would be perfect for a romantic outing or a quiet family visit to admire the ocean. Parking in the area seemed a bit limited, but I had parked near the restaurant I was heading to for dinner and simply walked over. It was well worth the detour and I can't wait to come back someday with my loved one and share this beautiful spot together. Highly recommended for anyone whose in the area. read more

This is a beautiful and busy viewpoint in CDM. Make a right off of PCH, through the residential area, and towards the shore. Hopefully you can find some street parking! It has a small grass lawn with a sign of its name. It is filled with folks taking in the view, picnicking, reading, napping, etc. Take a steep walk down, and there are some benches. There you will continue to find a beautiful viewpoint. read more

On a quest to find the best sunrises in Orange County, Inspiration Point came up as the top search. The parking is ample and free in a beautiful Corona Del Mar neighborhood. Nestled along the bluffs, the park itself is quite small with an upper and lower view points. I was mesmerized by the tranquil sounds of the waves crashing onto the beach. What a fantastic place to get back in touch with yourself after the hustle and bustle of daily life. Weekday mornings aren't so crowded for sunrise. I came on a Sunday for sunset and there were tons of people to close the weekend and start a new week. It seemed that both the sidewalks and the grassy areas were filled, and this is barely the beginning of spring. I can't even imagine what it's like during the summer! lol Inspiration Point is serene, beautiful place and like a postcard to write home, but it is right in our own backyard. If you asked me to describe this place in one word: "Idyllic." I had only been here once prior about 15 years ago when I was lucky enough to stay in the neighborhood at a friend's place for the weekend. This beach and its surrounding real estate is like no other-- from the beach front property and the sheer feeling of wealth that this place exudes. Walking around, you immediately get the feel that some of these properties could easily be showcased on a show like "Selling Sunset." Had it not been for friends that had a house in this exclusive Corona Del Mar neighborhood, I would not have have known about it. I always told myself that I needed to go back and I finally had the opportunity to this past Sunday (4/14/24). We had some time to kill before catching our flight from Anaheim (John Wayne airport) and this place was easily a 15-20 minute drive from it. Parking was plentiful on Ocean Avenue-- Just be careful when opening your door up against the curb that is closest to the oceanside. The curb is high and you'll scrape the underside of your doors when opening them. We learned the hard way with our mini SUV. The first thing that strikes you about this place is how clean and well groomed it is. The walkways down to Inspiration point had landscaping that was absolutely immaculate. Getting down to Inspiration Point was a short walk and the views are incredible. Like other Yelpers said, there are several benches for you to sit on and enjoy. With sweeping views of the ocean behind you, there are so many picture taking opportunities. For the Gram, if you will. We only had about 30 minutes before we needed to head out to the airport but it was time well spent. Definitely need to go back this summer! read more

No matter how sad I am--the minute I get out of my car with my Domino's Pizza from the store on PCH in Corona Del Mar, I am immediately happy! Others bring tables and chairs and elaborate dinner picnics. I eat some pizza, get some tunes going on my phone radio, and walk along the street with everyone else before sunset. Stunning views. Surprised my husband here with a Gallos sandwich for lunch. Peaceful and a perfect respite after surfing in the morning and then playing nine holes of golf. April 2023 I can see why this location name was an inspiration point. Located near a beachside community with ample street parking. There was a small park perfect for a dog relief area. Near the entrance, there are tables for sitting and enjoying the view. Once you pass the sign the walk down is steep so wear comfortable flat shoes. Once down the hill, there is a viewing area where you can sit down and enjoy some lunch or take photos or a great area for celebrating. Inspiration Point is a wonderful place to relax, soak up some rays and decompress. There are several of these along the California coast, each with it's own special attraction. This one, is just south along PCH from Fashion Island. It is not however very handicape accessible, since there are several stairs you need to navigate and a steep walkway to get to the beach. But the views from the top are impressive. This particular OC location has appeared on several HGTV background shots, so it might look familiar (see photos). Down below, there are coves with caves that you can enter during low tide (photos). If you have young children who are in need of a science project of marine life, then you're in luck. Walking along the beach gives you many opportunities to take pictures of sea urchins, but please do not disturb them. read more

Observation Point with panoramic ocean views It was a beautiful day when we stopped by Newport Beach, the sunny weather brought all kinds of people outdoors... people walking their dogs (Inspiration Point is a pet friendly park), strolling, jogging, folks kicking back and admiring the views of the ocean beach from the benches. It is a popular spot to see the Pacific Ocean in all its glory. Beautiful views of Corona Del Mar State Beach can be seen from here. Wow! to the gazillion dollar homes that lined Ocean Blvd and the even more expensive beach front houses and condos. I can only dream as I ogled at the homes with staircases that led down the landscape of the beach. Enjoy your time here... there are three different levels. There are benches on top of the bluff and a steep concrete path down to another set of benches about half way down and then the path continues to the beach. My favorite place. Especially on the weekdays. My go to spot to study or chill during my undergrad days. Recently went here and realized just how happy I am in life and fulfilled. It was so peaceful being able to just chill by myself, journal, and read. Two lil decks upper and lower and then further down you have beach access. Street parking. After my Blaze pizza hunger I came here for some "Perspective Point" because I was told to go there. Parked the car on Ocean Blvd, walked to the views and I see the "Perspective" but at the wrong point. Why didn't he corrected me this is called Inspiration Point until I saw the sign haha. Anyway, going down 1 level was very beautiful 180 view of ocean top to bottom. Then went down another level again to the beach, turned to left....omg...a hidden small clean cave! Camera..camera!! I was upset at many shots my bf took of me...gosh he's such a bad photographer lol. I felt like a kid playing on a big aqua lake full of sea orchids and mussels. Playing hide n go seek in the cave...looking up at the rock to admired their age and revolution they've been thru....awww such beauties and wonders going thru my mind. This is a beautiful place to take in the sunset. Overlooking big Corona Del Mar beach to the north and little corona del mar to the south. The view can be breathtaking. The sunset on the horizon and the homes on the periphery with the beach below. It certainly looks to be the good life. The homes that line the street are all so very beautiful. You almost forget because the sunset views are just breathtaking at times. We even saw a marriage proposal down below at big Corona when we were there this Summer. Inspiration Point, indeed. Street parking only. Definitely read the signs. Certainly show courtesy to those that live in the neighborhood. Summertime crowds can make the roads very crowded and finding parking a tough task. This spot is ok. I've definitely seen much better areas. It was super crowded and uncomfortable for my taste. I got there right before sunset and judging by the crowds I would've had to be hours early to find a nice viewpoint. I did manage to squeeze to the front of an area but it was underwhelming. read more
