Because we are allegedly one day getting Luigi's in Owasso, we decided to try out the Skiatook location. The vibe is a dark, romantic spot which kind of reminds me of the old Tucci's on Cherry Street. Our server was nice but seemed a bit scattered. We had the small side salad, the Luigi's Special and the Viva Italia. The salads were good with olives and peppers and tomatoes. I had the Viva Italia and would order it again. The sauce was great. More mushrooms would have been appreciated but there were lots of slices of sausage and maybe fewer chicken slices. The bread is delicious and the basket is often refilled. The dipping sauce of olive oil, fresh garlic and dried herbs is also addictive. I totally over eat on the bread and take over half my meal home. Luigi's in Tulsa is a very nice Italian restaurant. Visiting Tulsa, from the northeast where 5 star Italian restaurants are plentiful, I was unsure what we would get there in the Midwest. Well I was very pleasantly surprised. We were a group of 6, and it was maybe an hour before closing. There were only a couple tables occupied so we were seated promptly. We were immediately served some nice bread which we devoured and received more. I had their Viva Italia entree which was portabello mushrooms, chicken, and sausage, in a creamy sherry and marsala sauce served over penne. It was a generous portion and absolutely delicious. Most others in the group equally enjoyed their entrees, including one who is 100% Italian. Was it the best I've ever had? No. But again, I come from a region where there are many outstanding Italian restaurants. That said Luigi's is solid. Our server was fantastic. I'm so sorry I didn't catch his name. He truly helped make for a very enjoyable late dinner. He was attentive, very sociable, and funny. I was so impressed with his serving that on the way out I told the manager or maybe owner, the server should be given a raise. We tipped him very nicely. read more

The wife and I had our 39th anniversary dinner at Luigi's in Skiatook tonight. We'd been there some years before and had a thoroughly subpar meal. I'd seen a lot of goof press lately, so we opted to try again, and we're glad we did. Started with bruschetta, which along with the bread and oil was a great start. The bread was well done, light and airy with a decent amount of chew. The oil was great, if not a tad garlicky. The bruchetta was on point. Fresh tomatos with the right amount of acidity. I would have preferred a tad more basil, but that's just me. The wife had the pomodoro, which she said was quite good. I'm not a big fan of a ziti noodle but the bite I had of her dish was quite good. The chicken parm was also well executed. Light breading with a good flavor over a properly cooked chicken breast cutlet. The star of the plate though was the spaghetti. I don't know what's in their sauce, but that flavor was off the hook good. I plan on traveling back over for a big plate of spaghetti and meatballs. Service was timely and non-intrusive. My wife and I tried this Luigi's when they first opened several years ago. At that time we were far from impressed. The food was bland, the Alfredo sauce was watery and the service was lacking. This time we were actually going next door to the Crescent Cafe. However they had closed at 2:00. We had heard good reports about Luigi's. And decided to give them another try The restaurant was very busy at 3:00. The waiter brought us the menu and some fresh complimentary rolls with olive oil dip. They were very good. My wife ordered the chicken broccoli. I ordered the spaghetti works with meatball, sausage and meat sauce. Everything was very tasty. We I'll come back again. The only reasons for the four stars is the servers were not as attentive as they should have been. And at least one waitress was seen tucking her hand towel down the back of her pants. read more

I ordered Chicken parm and my Uncle ordered Italian sausage pasta There was no fresh parmesan. The garlic bread was super soft and tasty rolls served with olive oil garlic oregano plates. My chicken was tasty, but only one piece of chicken. The spaghetti was over cooled and soft. Guess customers like that. Over all not a bad place to try. Came in with a large group. Called ahead so they had a table ready for us. Overall it was a good experience. Wait staff seemed a bit annoyed but they appeared that way to everyone not just our group so maybe it's part of the charm. The decor was nice and the whole place felt like a good vibe. I've been several times and have had various levels of service. I usually go alone when I'm in the area but I waited more than 15 minutes for a table while I watched the hosts seat several groups or people before me even though they all arrived after me. I finally asked and they forgot about me since I was by myself. I ended up seating myself at the bar since no one was paying attention. The manager eventually called out the hosts for this. On a different visit, I was seated immediately in a booth and had great service! Their food is 3.5/5 stars and bonus points are for the fresh bread and panna sauce (red cream sauce). Fantastic dinner with my wife tonight for the first time at this upscale Italian restaurant. Chicken piccata was flavorful and delicious. She had the spinach ravioli but substituted Alfredo sauce and it was incredible. And the homemade rolls would certainly have made a fine meal all by themselves! Would give five stars for the service, but I can't separate service from food so I'm left giving two stars overall. I guess if you're not used to authentic Italian food, this is the place for you. Frozen cheese sticks (same as you could buy at Walmart) were served as the fried mozzarella cheese. Bruschetta looked as if an Italian loaf was sliced in half, long ways, then into thirds, toasted too long, then topped with canned diced tomatoes, not good. Wow! I must say, when I hear people rave about a restaurant, I am usually pretty skeptical. Tonight, I took my husband and son to Luigi's to see if the raves were true. Long story short, this place is AWESOME! I left stuffed and very impressed. To start, they bring out hot fresh bread to dip in an olive oil, garlic, and herbs mixture...yum! Then, our calamari appetizer arrived. It was perfectly cooked to a light golden brown; it was so tender. We could have used more marinara though. There definitely was not enough of that for three people. To top it off, my linguini and clams was spectacular! I could have dipped bread in that sauce all night!! The best I have had outside of Italy!! I didn't have room for dessert, but I will definitely be returning for some tiramisu or lemoncello cake soon!! read more

We had a little stay-cation at the casino in Skiatook, so based on the reviews here, I encouraged the family to try Luigi's. First time ever. It was cool that they have two entries. One is from the back, and one is from the street. Initially, I went to the back one, which is a door on a side alley, and I kind of felt like I was headed to a mafia meeting...lol. Inside, the restaurant was clean, yet dimly lit. It looked fancy, but there were people there dressed in their Sunday clothes from church, as well as people casually dressed. They had a ton of selections. I wish I had done my review closer to when we went so that I could share what I noticed on the menu. I got a sampler type meal, and its photo is in the photos. It was delicious. The sauce was light, but hearty in terms of tomato flavor. The bread served complimentarily was hot and fresh, and they offered some olive oil to dip it into. My husband was the odd man out, getting an alfredo dish, and he said it would be 4 out of 5 stars. He said it was perfectly fine, he just wished they would have had a heavier hand seasoning the sauce or the chicken, either one. The server was a male, and he was clean in appearance and courteous to us, even with all of the first timer questions we had. Overall, I would not travel specifically to go there (I live in Sapulpa). BUT, if I were in Skiatook, I would certainly go again. read more

The fresh bread with olive oil and vinegar is scrumptious. I love the fact you can order take out and not have to worry about the meals being small . The portions throughout the whole meal is perfect. Want to say one more thing about the lead waitress she's always busy wiping down tables cleaning and making sure everybody is happy with their mail. From the outside the place looks like a typical small town Oklahoma, old down town building. On the inside the place is huge. It is nicely decorated and white table cloths. My first visit with my Wife. She had lasagna and I had the chicken pomodoro. Both dishes were very good. The pomodoro had a silky, somewhat sweet, olive oil marinara sauce. Excellent! It's served with penne pasta. The lasagna was also outstanding. It's not your chef boy ar dee! It had a little tang, and the texture and taste all worked to make it a great dish. I recommend it! We'll visit again soon, as I'm anxious to try more dishes. read more
