Crescent Physical Therapy was there for me during a very tough year. Prior to my time there, I had been through an awful, grueling process, trying to find out what was wrong with my knee. After an MRI revealed that I had a patellar subluxation (a partially dislocated kneecap), I checked into Crescent, and they knew exactly how to help! I work multiple jobs, so finding time to go to any doctor is tricky, but Crescent Physical Therapy has very flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and they were always incredibly accommodating with my hectic schedule. Additionally, my insurance has caused a lot of stress for me this past year, but Crescent was extremely helpful in this department. They really went to bat for me, and they made sure that my garbage insurance issues didn't prevent me from receiving the care that I needed. All of the staff members are friendly and lovely, and they work together as a huge team, so that if I came on a day that had a slightly different staff than the last time, they were all in the loop about my situation and needs, and were able to pick up right where the previous session left off. Their fearless leader, Khurram Khan, truly is the glue that holds everything together. Not only is he in charge, but he is a physical therapist himself, so he interacted and worked on exercises with me, as well as the other patients. Khan is great, because he's hilarious and easy to talk to, but he is also not afraid to be completely honest about your injury, and what you need to do to in order to have a proper recovery. I am pleased to say that after working through this injury at Crescent Physical Therapy, my knee is feeling much better! I was given very specific exercises and stretches to do, both inside and outside of physical therapy, and these progressed as time went on. I have been going to Crescent Physical Therapy for many years for various injuries: back, neck, shoulder, and knee. There are many PT practices closer to home, but I choose the inconvenience of traveling to them for several reasons: 1) Scheduling is very easy. Back pain with pins and needles down one leg improved very fast (within 2 days) and heals very well! This is my second round of PT sessions at this place, which speaks for itself. Returning patient is a happy patient! 6 months ago, I consulted for the first time because of lower back pain with neurological symptoms, I improved quickly and was able to resume my previous lifestyle by 1 month. Unfortunately, I recently made a wrong move while moving furniture and hurt my back again, so same scary symptoms (back pain, could hardly walk, pins and needles and all kinds of weird neurological sensations down one leg) so I re-consulted. They took extra care of me, taking into consideration certain restrictions I have due to other comorbidities! I entered limping, after the first session I felt already better and after 2 days I could walk normally, no weird sensations down my leg! I was so grateful for that, thank you Dr Khan and rest of the team! The progression of exercises (stretching and strengthening) seems logical and in combination with the wide array of techniques they use at the clinic apart from massage, eg. electrostimulation, has allowed me to heal very nicely both times. It is a very busy place, but I do not feel that this has compromised my care (of course, one should always remain an active participant in their own health care). Front desk people are polite and precise (no errors in billing/health insurance), always making sure that follow-up appointments are scheduled according to treatment plan. Overall, given my excellent (and quick) results on both occasions, I feel confidence in the quality of the rehabilitation plans Dr Khan designs and plan to return for future PT sessions! I gave them a great review, however I was being premature. After 2 weeks I really have to say that it seems this place has changed from how it was 2 years ago. I guess it's all about the money because Khan used to be more pleasant towards his clients. He stares he is not there to coffee shop but to work. The owner, Kahn, is a bully to his staff. He creates a toxic environment in which he belittles his staff, they look extremely uncomfortable all the time, and that creates a toxic space to get physical therapy for patients. On more than one occasion, when he isnt in, the assistants have confided in me that they are so relieved. They also have terrible therapy, they leave you in a room by yourself, and check in every so often. Often times the pt assistants dont even know what exercise you should do next and they just tell you at random do this or that, its pretty awful. After months of coming here I was seen by Kahn maybe twice, so in reliaty he isnt overseeing your therapy but the assistants and their guesswork is. Kahn is like a used car salesman, just full of bs. Also, look at his lashing out at people on yelp. What kind of business man does that. Zero accountability and lies. I remember on my first day there I read a review in the waiting room,, that said they waited 30 mins to be seen with an appointment, Kahn lashed at that reviewer on yelp and called them a liar, which was funny to me because I had already been waiting 50 minutes with an appointment. This place is the worst, Astoria has so many options, literally any random place will be better than here. read more

I walked in my first day of physical therapy terrified. I had never had a significant injury and had thoughts that I would never be the same. The moment I met Dr. Khan though, my doubts were quelled. He assured me everything was going to be ok and even broke down my injury (something my doctor didn't do). Dr. Khan is professional, knowledgeable, and best of all, direct. I started going to PT here for pain in my left shoulder and arm from an accident I had. When I first got there everything seemed very nice. The lobby was nice, people seemed nice and the place seemed clean. I sat down with the doctor and he did an evaluation of my injury. He was detailed and went over everything with me. The first 2 weeks things were going pretty well. I was seeing some slight improvements. I was going there 3 days a week for an hour each session. PT is extremely time consuming and annoying; it gets old quickly. I was getting fed up and tired of going. As soon I started feeling this way they randomly changed my doctor without any notice. He was on vacation and I understand that but I should have been notified about that before I made appointments. A different doctor came in the room with no knowledge of my injury or treatment. She started working on me and I don't think she knew what she was doing. She may have made my injury worse. This whole week was officially a waste. I figured that my Doctor will be back next week and things will go back to normal. The doctor did return from vacation but for some reason he stopped working on me. He was there and said nothing to me. The 2nd doctor was working on me now and she just made things worse and worse. I was not happy about this. At this moment I started to realize more things I disliked about this place. I realized that the place is pretty filthy. The carpets weren't vacuumed. There was a cigarette butt stuck to the exercise bike the entire time I was going there. I would look at it and say "MARLBORO" to myself. The tables didn't look very clean. The place is busy as hell and is way too small. When you are doing exercises you are standing directly on top of someone. The staff and assistants are not very pleasant. There was one girl with glasses and black hair that was very nice. The rest of them seemed stressed out, overworked and didn't want to be there. The place had a weird and bad smell. Every time I was getting my shoulder worked on there would be terrible odors. The front bathroom was dirty and always smelled. One thing I always noticed that was odd was the girls at the front desk were EXTREMELY aggressive in booking my next appointment. Upon arrival before I even got in to see the doctor, "SO MR EH UH AH-MED, WHEN IS YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT? WE NEED TO BOOK ONE..." #1 the name Emmett is very easy to pronounce. I don't know why they couldn't handle it. They always called me AHMED, EMED, AMIT. I don't get it. #2 I already had an appointment for the following day. At this point I was obviously fed up and didn't want to go anymore. I wasn't getting results and was not happy. The PT was getting paid thru a No Fault Claim. I had a Medical Exam that would determine whether or not I would continue to get coverage. My last appointment the girl at the front desk says "MR. AHMED WE NEED TO LIKE OMG BOOK YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT! WHEN DO YOU WANT TO COME IN?!" I replied with I have a "Doctors appointment next week that will determine if I can come in but please do not book me. I don't want to come back and I am done." She was dumbfounded and didn't know what to say. This was on 10/18/13. Since that day they have called me 5-7 times a week, EVERY SINGLE DAY, Looking to book an appointment and leaving voicemails. They would call from different phone numbers to try and get me to answer to book an appointment. I finally answered the phone call yesterday and told the girl at the front desk. "I TOLD YOU THAT DAY IN THE LOBBY I DON'T WANT TO COME BACK. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU? STOP CALLING ME. DON'T YOU THINK IF I WANTED TO COME BACK I WOULD HAVE CALLED YOU? PLEASE STOP CALLING ME AND LEAVE ME ALONE." She had nothing to say and hung up lol. I would not recommend coming here unless you want to be harassed, get no results, waste your time and be in a dirty place. read more

I went to Crescent Physical Therapy one time recently for a knee injury. It was easy to get an appointment, and the front desk staff was polite and friendly. However, I was HIGHLY displeased with the overall service and atmosphere for the rest of my visit. The treatment area was dark and had a skeevy feel to it. The carpeted floors were kind of gross, and I didn't feel comfortable walking around barefoot when I was asked to do so. The head of the center (Dr. Khan, I'm guessing?) was so RUDE to ALL of his staff, especially the females. I was horrified at the nasty and condescending manner in which he spoke to the therapists and secretaries. It was embarrassing to be around. Furthermore, I was introduced to one physical therapist, who said she was going to be working with me. She made me feel like an idiot when I was in pain and kept saying, "No crying!" even though I wasn't but was clearly in pain. After she performed one part of my treatment, she left the room, and three different therapists proceeded to come in the room at different times to do different treatments (massage, heating pads, etc.) However, they didn't explain anything about what was going to happen, and they lacked empathy or compassion when I was obviously in pain and confused about what they wanted me to do. Several times, I was left sitting in the treatment room or standing in the middle of the equipment room with no idea of what I was supposed to do next. I will NOT be returning here. The service was really crappy, the physical environment was shady, and it was a terrible experience overall. read more

The team at Crescent Physical Therapy is awesome! I had a total of 24 therapy sessions with them after my foot surgery. My foot is totally healed now. They gave me a lot of great exercises to strengthen my foot and legs to recover after my surgery. They used electric stimulation, heat, cold and massage to help my foot heal quickly and completely. My foot surgeon was very pleased and impressed with how the physical therapy helped me so quickly. Crescent Physical Therapy is located right in Astoria, near the 30th Avenue subway stop. Hi my name is Tenzing and I've been having tendonitis on both of my knees for almost 3 years. After seeing my first therapist in Woodside ave for 5 months I did not see much difference except the money out my pocket until I was referred to see Dr.Khan and man was that the best decision I've made in my life. I'm dealing with a physical condition (which I'm not discussing) and Crescent has been instrumental in my recovery. They accept practically all insurances. The owner, who speaks in a fake American accent, is a jovial and funny guy. He often works with the patients one-on-one. The primary physical therapist is a black guy with dreadlocks who kinda looks like Latrell Sprewell. There are a few other male and female physical therapists. I find it funny how they talk on walkie talkies, like they're secret agents. They have a quite a few exercise machines and equipment, including arm bikes and an elliptical bike. The exercises are intense. However, I can't really complain about that. If they were easy then they wouldn't be effective. My only complaint about Crescent is that the exercise room is small and cramped. You're almost always bumping into someone due to the limited space. Nevertheless, I encourage people with physical ailments to come here for treatment. Crescent is located in Astoria, which is a nice area full of many restaurants and mom and pop shops. It's about a 10 minute walk from the 30th Avenue station on the N and Q lines. It's only a 20 minute ride from Manhattan. read more

I came in this place because it was close to my home. but at the beginning I had doubts about this place. when I start physical therapy all my doubts gone. they are very organized and very professional on their work and they know what they have to do to make your injury go away. I had sprain ankle and after few visits my ankle was strong again and finally could go back to my activities. All the staff here and the therapists are very kind and very friendly and try to do their best to make you feel comfortable. The Physical Therapists that work here are great and they do an excellent job but it's the front desk people that you need to be weary of. There's some light skinned Spanish looking guy that works in the front desk right now that I am convinced just has no idea what the definition of having manners is. When you walk in to this place and immediately check in he says to you in a very loud voice,"Sit down!" in the most rude way ever as if you are some kind of second class citizen. If you try to check him & correct him on his tone towards you then he tries his best to play stupid & ignores you & acts as if he can't understand English. He just doesn't understand that you can't talk to people like that. He should understand that this is a Physical Therapy place where people are coming in for medical treatment and not his own home where speaking to people like that might be tolerable read more

Where do I begin with how amazing this place is? I had shoulder pain which is gone now (12 visits later). I was carefully taken care of and have seen most of the therapists there. They are all very kind, attentive and professional. Dr Khan has been treating me lately. He is very busy but down to earth and easy to talk to. Any concerns you have, he'll listen and take care of. He knows what he is doing. His team is fun, friendly and kind. They always check up on me and make sure I'm doing OK. Unlike most places, at Crescent Physical Therapy all the therapists see you individually and spend time with you in each visit to massage and treat the affected area. Every therapist has a different approach. The problem with this place is that they don't give individual care. Too many cook-therapists, aides, helping people do things but they do not help you correct the postures and methods necessarily. Weeks can pass by before someone notices. They are very courteous and nice otherwise. You will have to manage your care that is if you know enough. I thought I did, but it didn't work. I went for lower back pain and would not recommend going there. read more

I am very thankful to Crescent Physical Therapy for literally getting me back on my feet again. I cold called a few PT offices in the neighborhood from a list my doctor gave me and was immediately impressed by the professional receptionist here and scheduled my first appointment. They also have early morning appointments which was a big plus for me. I saw Jeremy as my therapist for mostly all of my appointments here and he's great. All of the employees who walk you through your exercises on the floor and attentive and encouraging. Dr. Kahn seems to keep a close eye on the way his office is run and that really shows. I was recovering from a broken foot and sprained ankle and hit every milestone of my recovery in this office from going to to one crutch, to walking, being able to step correctly down stairs and finally walking normally again. I had foot surgery in September 2019 and begin PT with Khan at Thanksgiving. I arrived in wheelchair and after three months of intense therapy,I am almost back to normal walking! Actually better than before surgery, as I am now not in pain . The staff at Crescent are polite,helpful,and knowledgeable; and relentless, they do not allow backsliding and helped me reach my goals. They work as a unit. It is obvious that were very concerned for my well-being, as they are with all of their patients. Khan, my therapist, not only does the required and expected therapy, but anticipated that I needed to work on the balance issues that resulted from the realignment of the bones in my foot. I thank all of them for their devotion and care! I will recommend them and their office to anyone in need of PT; but know you will work hard because that is how to reach success! I've had physical therapy done in the past but nothing like this. Dr. Greg and his assistant G are simply amazing at what they do. Dr. G takes a whole body approach to healing it being based on eastern medicine I know that beyond that I don't know much and prior to this I knew about it but I was skeptical after three sessions I am simply amazed at how much difference it has made my body. His approach not only affects your body physically and also mentally I cannot say enough good things about his approach except to say to go and experience it for yourself it will definitely change your opinion on how a doctor should treat a patient healing from an injury. I would not go here. Something is very wrong with this practice. My wife went here for 3 dates of service following a fracture of her foot. We required a copy of the records for a settlement case and we have been requesting our records on behalf of our attorney. Our first request was in November. It is now February. We do not understand why a simple request like this has not been responded too. It is highly unprofessional. Additionally, while in the waiting room we witnessed the therapist come out and yell at his front office staff because his appointment book was not filled. We got the impression that this practice was primarily centered on seeing as many patients as possible to maximize the insurance billing revenue. It didn't see to prioritize patient care at all. The therapist does not return calls or emails. Sorry to say. This was a bad experience. read more

My only regret is that I did not come here sooner. I had ACL knee reconstruction surgery and was referred to go to another PT facility by Ditmars that had horrible service and incompetent therapists. I switched to Crescent Physical Therapy and my progress has dramatically increased. I highly recommend Khan and his staff to anyone looking for physical therapy treatment. He has an incredible staff that is knowledgeable, well organized, and friendly. The workouts are challenging and I always leave the facility feeling better. Actually the therapist are good but the owner is a big fat scam, I went there for a checkup, we ask if they accept our insurance, I was told by the kharam or whoever he is that yes and I would only pay 100$ for 1st four visit and then I could go back with paying anymore co pay. Guess what after that I received a collection notice saying I have to pay more than the co pay . How did that happened?
