ProMet is an amazing physical therapy facility that has contributed tremendously to my healing process. I came to ProMet after a hip labral tear repair and debridement surgery. I was greeted warmly by all staff and felt welcomed from my very first visit. I was checked in right away. For all my appointments to follow, there was always zero wait time. All staff gets to know you on a first name basis and goes above and beyond to make you feel comfortable and welcomed. Ryan (practice owner) takes his time to individually get to know patients, listen to concerns and, celebrate progress. At ProMet you are treated like family. Mike (physical therapist) worked with me to not only rehabilitate my hip after surgery, but also to provide me with an arsenal of knowledge and techniques to get me stronger and make serious improvements. He is extremely intelligent, patient, warm, empathetic, professional, and talented at his craft. He is passionate in what he does and cares about implementing a plan of action that is personalized for the individual's needs. He explains everything, listens to concerns, and answers all questions. Mike noted details about my specific lifestyle/ physical fitness interests, and with step by step rehabilitation, I was eventually able to do all the exercises I loved using ProMet's state of the art equipment. He took many factors into account during my rehabilitation. Not only was the goal to rehabilitate my hip, but also correct all the surrounding areas/ issues that contributed to the injury in the first place. He is constantly updating his arsenal-along with all the other wonderful physical therapists at ProMet. Some techniques that Mike had implemented to supplement the healing processes were cupping, postural restoration techniques, and instrument assisted soft Tissue mobilization (Graston Technique), just to name a few. During each session at ProMet I was pushed to exceed my potential. I was supported and cheered on by everyone. 5 months post- op, I am feeling great, and returning back to doing all the activities I love (but with new knowledge and techniques that will enhance my training/ lifestyle). I was referred to ProMet by an Orthopedic surgeon after months of lower back pain and an increasing inability to perform simple tasks. Six months of chiropractic treatment had done nothing to improve my condition, and I was completely frustrated (the Chiropractor I had been seeing all that time had actually said that he wasn't sure was wrong with my back, and that there was nothing more he could do for me). After describing my situation to Ryan he explained what he believed the problem was, and assured me that he could help me. He said that he would do this by helping me "to help myself", and immediately started me on some stretching exercises. I was nervous and skeptical, because even the slightest use of these muscles had seemed to exacerbate my condition. To my surprise, I not only didn't feel pain, but felt some relief. I went home and told my wife "If I can get out of bed in the morning they might be on to something." They were! Ryan and the staff at ProMet have continued to help me to help myself, and quite frankly, they've given me my life back. I'm able to carry and play with my grandchildren again (something I was afraid I wouldn't be able to do), and do other things that I thought were no longer possible. Ryan and his staff are courteous, knowledgeable and sensitive to one's personal situation, and exercises are added, removed, or modified as necessary. There is ongoing monitoring, questioning, and feedback. Nothing is forced - everyone's needs are constantly being observed and re-evaluated as applicable. No cookie-cutter mold process here! I have complete faith and confidence in Ryan and the staff at ProMet, and have recommended them to others requiring their services. I've been struggling with reoccurring Achilles Tendonitis for about 2 years and I began to think that it was just a fact of life. I had been playing soccer for many years on local club and travel teams and played through the injury for a while but it was finally starting to get bad enough that I had to stop for the second time. My orthopedic surgeon had me take a break for over a month and then recommended ProMet Physical Therapy. I had already undergone physical therapy once for the injury but the pain came back shortly after because all they did at my previous therapist was hook me up to a machine and do some stretching. I was pleasantly surprised from my first day at ProMet when my physical therapist, Ryan, carefully explained everything that was wrong and explained problems he saw with my gait and muscle imbalances. He explained what his plans for physical therapy were and had me seeing him three days a week. The major difference between ProMet and my previous PT was that at ProMet I received around 2 hours of personal attention each time and they kept in mind that I was an athlete and wanted to be back in game-ready shape by the end of the PT session. Ryan does not rely on machinery and artificial pain relief but rather focuses on strengthening the body to deal with the injury in the long-term and heal effectively. I can happily say that I've been feeling immensely better and am currently playing club soccer in college which I never would have expected just a few months ago. Ryan made sure to push me to my limits before letting me finish PT and it has made all the difference. His sense of humor and effective communication made me feel very welcome and well taken care of. ProMet has consistently provided exceptional customer service. The entire staff (including the administrative team) is professional, attentive, knowledgeable and personable with all of their patients. I have visited Ryan + Co for two seperate injuries, which is unfortunate, but i wouldn't go anywhere else! Ryan worked with me hands on after a shoulder surgery and after a neck injury. Both times I left his facility after my rehab feeling brand new. Not only does the team treat the area, they help strengthen supporting areas while making sure you learn exercises, stretches and habits to ensure the prevention of future injury. The facility had all the equipment needed to get the job done - even a water cooler after Ryan showed me how out of shape I actually am! I started physical therapy with Mike in October 2017 with a right quad strain from running. I was and still am a runner on a track team. I couldn't run at the time because of this injury, and Mike got me back into running shape in just about a month with 2 sessions per week. I could not be happier with the results. I was able to run again so soon, however continued to see Mike with little tweaks as well as for other things to just make me into a better athlete. Him, as well as the other therapists know what they are doing to a great degree and only want the best for their patients. I'm currently running track at Adelphi University and can definitely attribute my success to Mike's help. Highly recommend for anyone with any sort of physical therapy needs. As both a patient and a volunteer worker at ProMet, a common theme I have found is intimacy. Ryan and his staff are not only friendly and caring, but they also tailor each rehabilitation program to the individual patient. ProMet is a physically therapy office that covers a wide range of patients at different activity levels and injuries. I received treatment with Ryan and his staff following Tommy John surgery. In a couple of weeks, I was at full range of motion, way ahead of what my surgeon's program suggested, and never once did I feel I was pushed too far. Today I was able to get the knees off the ground and shift most of my body weight onto the shoulders in a bear crawl position, tightening the core while doing breathing exercises. This may sound like a simple exercise to some but coming off shoulder surgery its not so simple anymore. This is 2 months after surgery, I'm seeing progress everyday! I highly recommend ProMet as the place to go for physical therapy. In 2013 l broke my ankle and had surgery to place a metal plate and 6 screws. My surgeon said the surgery went well, but it's all up to the physical therapy I receive which will determine how back to normal I will be. A friend recommended ProMet and l went 2-3 times a week for 6 months and worked with several of the PTs and I made a wonderfully full recovery. My legs is back to normal and has never bothered me again. Last year my sister has a stroke which left her partially paralyzed and they have been working with her and she too is very happy with them. I've had such a great experience at ProMet in Glendale. I went for hip and shoulder pain and after 8 weeks the hip pain is totally gone and the shoulder is greatly improved.
