If the letter or bill gives estimates of repair costs, but not actual repair costs, your landlord failed to notify you correctly under the law even if your landlord gave you those estimates within 21 days. The court case that says estimates are not good enough is Goodeill v. Madison Real Estate, 191 Wash.App. 88 (2015). So I'm entitled to my entire security deposit and I have yet to receive it. What's worse is that when sharing the law and case information to NRB, the response I got was "This is how we've always done it." Way to tell me that you've been breaking the law for a LONG time. So as a result, all of my friends who are moving to tacoma, I steer them far away from NRB. so why two stars instead of one? Well, while we were there, things seemed fine. They were generally very responsive when we needed them to be, although I wasn't a fan of the occasional need to have inspections done. That was weird and the first time I've encountered it as a renter since college.
