The fields are spacious and well-maintained, parking is convenient, and the park feels clean, safe, and very family-friendly. There are shaded areas for parents, restrooms nearby, and plenty of space for kids to play between games. The mountain views are a great bonus too. Starting March 8, 2026, i9 Sports will be playing here for the Spring season, and it's an ideal location for organized youth sports. This is a nice walk in the park, every two days out of the week I'd walk down from my home and cross this beautiful dog park to stroll down from Verdugo through Montrose. My furthest walk was to GCC from Tujunga. I plan to walk here every day at some point of time. read more

I went to a kid birthday party at the Crescenta Valley Regional Park play area, which is apparently just a small part of this very large, very nice park. It was a great place, with easy street parking and a ton of space for parties and frolicking children. We took our toddler and our baby, and while our baby doesn't appreciate parks quite yet, our almost-three-year-old had a blast. He enjoyed the party, for a three-year-old friend, which included lots of snacks and activities spread out across a couple of the park's picnic tables. He also loved the playground, which seemed like it was on the toddler-friendly side. He made me go down the little slide with him about a thousand times. I don't live particularly close to La Crescenta, but I'd be happy to go back to this park. I'm sure I'd depend on it if I lived in the neighborhood. read more

I found this park by looking at the map for some green near by. I didn't know it was going to be such a big park. You can enter by Dunsmore or New York Ave. This park is HUGE!!! I Didn't even realize until coming back a few times. They have a skate park, youth activities and a dog park. My favorite part about this park is the little hiking trail in back of the park. Just beware these is poison oak everywhere. This park is amazing and so tranquil. I come everyday since it's very close to my home. I also love that it's so shady. read more

This is a great spacious park with many different amenities include a dog park, skatepark, basketball courts, baseball fields, picnic tables, multi-purpose rooms and event some hiking trails if you explore the backcountry portion of the park. I think what's nice about this park is because it's so large, there are several different little environments to explore. Part of the park is wooded and shady for when you are feeling contemplated. Part of the park has a running path for when you feel like practicing your fitness. Part of the back has some interesting hiking paths for small little hikes where you can move through chaparral and scurry up rocks. Part of the park is for dogs for when you want to have a "Yappy Hour" with your favorite human and four legged friends. this park can be some many different things for different people. read more

A very large city park, this park includes a skate park, a basketball court, large grassy open area, picnic tables, restrooms, and a large playground. The playground is on the far eastern side of the park (New York Ave) and it has: - a pre-toddler play pen (20' wide hexagon) - a covered toddler area with two slides , a bridge, monkey bars, gears game, rock climb, and spinning maze toy. -an area for bigger kids (3.5+ is my guess) with lots of rope obstacles, and a fairly difficult balance course A Great time for all, minus one star for the freeway noise. read more

Came here for a birthday party. LARGE park! We had a hard time finding out which part of the park the party was being held at so if you ever plan on doing a party here, please be specific as to the location. Several tables near the jungle gym. My cousin set up before 10:00 am and there was another family using the other tables. Probably a good idea to set up before 10:00am!! We explored the park while waiting for the pizza to arrive. Found a map for 3 jogging paths. Bathroom under construction, but found another one further away from the tables. One part of the park had lot parking, but our section of the park where the party was held had handicap parking. There is street parking. Tree near our table for a piñata. read more

Crescenta Valley Park is home to the St. Francis Golden Knights Cross Country Team. While I've been to this park on numerous occasions for the school, it wasn't until I moved into the town of Montrose, and this was the closest place to get my run and hike on, that led me to explore and discover the great trails to hike/run/walk here. Good park overall. There is a lot of space for the kids to go run around on. They recently upgraded the kids play area with big shades that will keep the kiddos nice and safe from those harsh valley sun rays. It also has several bbq pits, a small basketball court and 2 baseball diamonds in case you're feeling like Babe Ruth for the day. On the other side of the park is a really nice dog park and a rock climber for the kids. As of why the rock climber is way over on the other side of the park instead of being near the kids play area is beyond me. Maybe they have Amy Poehler designing this place? The negatives (the reason for the 3 stars) for me is that the area near where the kids can play is nothing but dirt! Where is the grass?! This place also seems to attract some parents that are either just not watching they're kids or could care less on correcting poor behavior. Cheers! read more

I love Crescenta Valley Park and Recreation Center. It's a hidden gem in North Glendale/Western La Crescenta that has just about everything for everyone. For one thing it's beautiful, with it's mature trees, oaks and sycamores, and huge open areas for picnics and events. There is a new playground for the kiddies, an outdoor kitchen and a rec center, and an off-leash dog park on the Dunsmore side of the park, which just had it's first anniversary celebration a few weeks ago. I first found out about the park last spring, when they had their Crescenta Valley Park Country Faire. Our dog training group, LARPBO (https://www.facebook.com/LARPBO?fref=ts) was invited to come and have a booth there. I was so impressed at how nice the park was, and really wanted to return on my own. As it turns out that was sooner rather than later, as LARPBO was asked to come and start training classes at the park! We have now been conducting classes every Saturday afternoon at 2PM in the "Hindenberg" area of the park since last summer! It's the perfect place to conduct our classes, with all the open space and shade trees. We recently celebrated "National Pit Bull Appreciation Day" there on October the 26th with a picnic and the unveiling of our new agility equipment (Our agility classes are held at our Sherman Oaks location for now). My dog loves coming to this park. For one thing he gets to see all his buddies from LARPBO, and meet the new dogs that come to classes, and for another thing he loves climbing on the rocks and boulders (and trees! Yes, he's a tree dog :) There are hiking trails that we haven't tried yet, but that's another perk the park has that's on our list to experience. I'll give you an update as soon as we accomplish that! I highly recommend the Crescenta Valley Park to everyone! read more

What's there not to like? Simple, quiet, and well maintained. Maybe one of the hidden jewels here in the Crescenta Valley. Plenty of equipment for kids to use. Old trees that took years to grow provide ample canopy shade on the west end of the park. Well kept baseball and softball fields popular for leagues. Most of the parking is on the west side of the park. I saw plenty of dog walkers in the area and I saw everyone picking up after their dog. Graffiti? I didn't see any. This dog park is great! I take my little one there on the weekends and she loves going. I love that it has a big dog and small dog area so that the big dogs don't chew up the little dogs! The park itself is really nice and has a back area that you can hike. I went there with a friend and had we more time, we would have explored more of the area. The park is lovely and quite serene considering it is very close to the 210 freeway! read more

So I rented the area by the playground for my son's 1st birthday party. I was told that they would have the area secured letting others know that is was reserved. I was to meet a park ranger at 3pm and they weren't there. I got there at 3 there was no park ranger, there were no signs of the area reserved, and there were people in my rented location. I basically paid 163 bucks for absolutely nothing. Then a little while later another family shows up and sets up a party right next to me in my area I paid 163 bucks for. Of course I felt bad to tell them to leave so I didn't. But I will never again rent this park they rip you off. But my son had a blast and that's what mattered. read more

This is a nice large park for picnics and has baseball diamonds and a new skatepark. There are good hiking trails towards the rear of the park, but be careful to look out for rattlesnakes on the paths. I have even seen a rattlesnake near the bathrooms. read more
