This is POISON OAK. It's all over the trail. Not a big deal but be mindful so you don't get a rash.

I found this park by looking at the map for some green near by. I didn't know it was going to be such a big park. You can enter by Dunsmore or New York Ave. This park is HUGE!!! I Didn't even realize until coming back a few times. They have a skate park, youth activities and a dog park. My favorite part about this park is the little hiking trail in back of the park. Just beware these is poison oak everywhere. This park is amazing and so tranquil. I come everyday since it's very close to my home. I also love that it's so shady.

A very large city park, this park includes a skate park, a basketball court, large grassy open area, picnic tables, restrooms, and a large playground. The playground is on the far eastern side of the park (New York Ave) and it has: - a pre-toddler play pen (20' wide hexagon) - a covered toddler area with two slides , a bridge, monkey bars, gears game, rock climb, and spinning maze toy. -an area for bigger kids (3.5+ is my guess) with lots of rope obstacles, and a fairly difficult balance course A Great time for all, minus one star for the freeway noise.

Came here for a birthday party. LARGE park! We had a hard time finding out which part of the park the party was being held at so if you ever plan on doing a party here, please be specific as to the location. Several tables near the jungle gym. My cousin set up before 10:00 am and there was another family using the other tables. Probably a good idea to set up before 10:00am!! We explored the park while waiting for the pizza to arrive. Found a map for 3 jogging paths. Bathroom under construction, but found another one further away from the tables. One part of the park had lot parking, but our section of the park where the party was held had handicap parking. There is street parking. Tree near our table for a piñata.

Crescenta Valley Park is home to the St. Francis Golden Knights Cross Country Team. While I've been to this park on numerous occasions for the school, it wasn't until I moved into the town of Montrose, and this was the closest place to get my run and hike on, that led me to explore and discover the great trails to hike/run/walk here. I recommend it to beginners as well as the seasoned runners because the park has many different terrains to offer all users...

    Kids play area

Good park overall. There is a lot of space for the kids to go run around on. They recently upgraded the kids play area with big shades that will keep the kiddos nice and safe from those harsh valley sun rays. It also has several bbq pits, a small basketball court and 2 baseball diamonds in case you're feeling like Babe Ruth for the day. On the other side of the park is a really nice dog park and a rock climber for the kids. As of why the rock climber is way over on the other side of the park instead of being near the kids play area is beyond me. Maybe they have Amy Poehler designing this place? The negatives (the reason for the 3 stars) for me is that the area near where the kids can play is nothing but dirt! Where is the grass?! This place also seems to attract some parents that are either just not watching they're kids or could care less on correcting poor behavior. Cheers!

    Lovely oaks.

Beautifully maintained park with a nice stand of native oak trees. Great place for picnics, hikes and playing Frisbee with the kids.

What's there not to like? Simple, quiet, and well maintained. Maybe one of the hidden jewels here in the Crescenta Valley. Plenty of equipment for kids to use. Old trees that took years to grow provide ample canopy shade on the west end of the park. Well kept baseball and softball fields popular for leagues. Most of the parking is on the west side of the park. I saw plenty of dog walkers in the area and I saw everyone picking up after their dog. Graffiti? I didn't see any. Let's keep this place clean and safe forever.

Fun cramped up fancy small skate park, literally made for scooter kids & skateboarders. Shaded section and bleachers for non skate parents & family spectators. Restrooms close by & a large dog park as well.

Beautiful trees here! Reminded me of a place in Florida I love!

When we visited there wasn't a lot of people, but they have a tennis court, a basketball court and a small little playground for kids. They had a few tables around the park. There's not a lot of traffic around the park so it seems safe for your kids if you plan to bring them to play. If you're from around the area and need to take a breather and time to walk, this is a good place to walk around. I saw a few joggers, but it was mostly quiet and hardly anyone around. Since COVID19 a lot of restaurants are not allowing you to dine-in, so this is a good little place to picnic with your friends or family. We ended up staying in the car and parked right by the park. We were in a rush since we came around the holidays, so we could not stay to enjoy it. If I'm ever in the area and need a place to go for a picnic and Eagle Rock isn't allowing dine-in, then I would definitely come back. It's not crowded, it's clean, it looks safe and there's a few benches to hangout. I did not get a chance to check the restrooms, but it did not look bad from the outside view. The grass and trees around the park look well taken care of by the city.

I then told him that she's a service animal and he asked what task she performs as is customary. But once I said her task, he laughed at me and said he had never heard of a dog who "does that". I told him I have a disability that requires her and he eventually let me in. But he had an overall negative rude condescending demeanor and didn't seem to like working there. This was highly triggering for me and actually triggered my CPTSD because it never feels great to have your disability or needs not taken seriously. Not everyone's disability is visible and for it to be laughed at felt very insensitive. It makes me not wanna go there that much in the future now because I know it's always gonna be triggering for me if that worker is there. I couldn't relax the whole time I was there cause I felt so distressed by this.

Parking was easy, in a lot right near the playground. There were a few parties going on but the park was small enough that we had no trouble finding the right one. The park was great, well kept and inviting. Even the bathroom wasn't bad--I generally avoid park bathrooms but had to attend Leo, and this one wasn't disgusting. The playground was nice and our four-year-old Leo B. enjoyed himself running around the play structure. I liked that the party was set up at tables close to the playground, so we didn't have to spend the whole party fighting our child's desire to run and climb. He also liked being at the party, especially when the piñata came out. Our toddler had a good time, too, and took a little nap in his stroller after a walk on the smooth concrete path winding through the park grounds. We live pretty far from La Crescenta, so we won't be spending too much time here, but I really liked Dunsmore Park. It worked well as a party venue and was just an all-around pleasant place for a weekend family outing. We'd make good use of it if we were in the neighborhood.
