Pretty view of the Verdugo Mountains. I'd say bring a picnic here before sunset.

This is a really nice park with tennis courts, baseball field, soccer field, lots of trees and plenty of picnic tables. They play structure is very nice for young kids and there's a nice concrete bench that surrounds it so you can catch up with your mommy or daddy friends while watching the kids. I like to walk my dog there when it's hot because there's plenty of mature trees, so it's easier to get out of the sun and have grass to walk on. The only downside is it appears to be a hangout and party spot for the high school kids. Glendale Police Department needs to swing by more often it seems.

    RRRUUUNNNN!!! Daddy's coming!!! lol!

I love this park. It was only minutes away from where I used to live. Having 'Community' is the name is actually perfect cause it is really a small little community park. It has two jungle gyms, one for children 2-5, and then another for children 5+. It has a gorgeous grass area for you to picnic or if you want to have a gathering, whatever you want. It also has two baseball fields which is usually being used, but hey you never know it might be open. Overall, this is one of the best parks around that area. Its privately tucked away and typically not crowded at all. I SHOULD be telling you that this is a horrible park so you dont go there, but I'm feeling really nice today... so take advantage of it while you can LOL

    Bathroom in montrose park

The picnic / play area was clean but the public restrooms are the worst restroom in all the parks I've been too . Located in a RICH neighborhood , I expected more . This is a Dirty and unacceptable smelly rest area . I hope glendale city will turn their attention to this beautiful park.

SOFTBALL Field review. Totally liked the scene up at the Montrose Park softball field. When you play the outfield, you're looking at the nice Angeles Crest mountain range in the background (imagine playing in the winter when they're slightly snowcapped). The softball field/park is nicely tucked in behind the busy Verdugo street. There's plenty of parking right be the fields and up top by the bball and tennis courts. When you're playing at Montrose, it feels un-LA like. Nice play to play some softball at. Cons: Far bathrooms, outfield grass was SUPER DUPER thick which killed any hard ground balls into the OF. Cut the grass please! I'd take Montrose over Gloretta field anytime!!!

    we love this playground!

My son and I love coming here for picnics or just a bit of play time before visiting the farmers market on Sundays. The park is very well maintained (the bathroom is one of the cleanest I've seen at a park) there's a lot for the kids to do and explore, and there are even tennis courts and a basketball hoop! I highly recommend this park, and will continue to enjoy it with my family.

This is my 3 year olds favorite park. She loves the rock climbing part of the playground, she loves it so much that I have instant heart attacks watching her reach the top. Super big and fun slides, lots of swings, lots of park benches and places to sit where you can easily watch your little ones play. I love that there's lots of green grass, places to explore, and pretty flowers. My only complaint is that the wood chips in playground is such a pain in the butt. They are not flip flop friendly, I had several slivers get stuck in my flip flops, thus cutting through to my skin. If this playground had sand it would be my personal favorite.

Thats just horrible, i hope someone from glendale city is going to read this review and do something about it. montrose park has 2 public tennis courts for everyone who wants to play tennis and enjoy those courts. but guess what, its "public just on words. scheduled for private lessons most of the time. all seven days a week reserved for private lessons and every time you will try to use the "public" court for public use its available before 2pm or after 8pm. check the pictures below. city of glendale has more opportunities to make money somewhere else and leave courts for regular families who would love to enjoy this beautiful game - tennis. look attached photos for schedules and don't waist your time to drive all the way for tennis courts. i think it's not city's last resort to make theirs budget by collecting the money from renting those courts. ON WEEKENDS EVEN WORSE. MORNING TIME IS ALWAYS RESERVED. THIS MUST BE FIXED. Or change the name from Public Community Park to Private and Greedy City of Glendale Park!

Party crasher #1 being told what's up by a no-nonsense mama. Dog in the background came with an invited guest, thankyouverymuch.

Perfect place to bring your little ones for a romp in the playground or a run-around the ample but contained grass area. Sometimes parking gets a tad crowded when there's a baseball game going on but it's no big whoop. My nephew celebrated his third birthday there this weekend and he had the best time ever. He's 3, though, so just being alive is the best time ever. The grown-ups at the party had a few bizarre encounters with some uninvited kids, though. First, there were these two tween girls. We had canopies and a piñata set up that clearly marked our party area and these girls weaved in and out, freely touching and checking things out. Weird, but they're kids so whatevs ... But then they came up to my sister and went, "Hey, can we leave our dog here while we go and play?" and my sister was all, "Um, this is a public park so you can leave your dog wherever you want but I'm not gonna watch it for you." Then these walking/talking Bratz dolls were like, "Oh," and walked off. Then, there were these 3 boys around 7 to 9 years of age. All of a sudden, I see them playing with my nephew's stomp rocket junior. Hello, it's called "junior" because it's for 3-year-olds! They were stomping on it way too hard and shooting rockets into each others' butts, making a huge ruckus. Hilarious and age-appropriate. At THEIR party. Some other time. I was like, "Boys, you had your turn, let the birthday boy and his friends play with it." I didn't get mad and even asked if they were had fun, which they clearly did. Then I saw them playing with it again, right under my nose, and got one of the rockets stuck in a tree. What the hell? But there was no time to scratch my head because it was piñata time. All our little guests took turns pulling strings until they found the secret string tied to the trap door (that's how my nephew rolls). Candy flung everywhere. Tots got busy scooping up loot. I got busy with my camera. Then I heard one of our grown-up guests shout, "Randoms! Randoms!" and my first thought was "what a disconcerting nickname for his children" until I spotted those party crashers through the viewfinder. They were squatting amidst the spoils and grabbing goodies right along with my nephew. What the hell two times! One of the moms finally had to tell them the candy was for the birthday boy and his friends! They finally went away to do their thing but the kicker is that their moms were a mere 30 feet away, witnessing everything. The mamas just be chillin' and sayin', "We brought em but you deal wit em, suckas!" There was plenty of candy leftover and even some cake but we were too thrown by it all to feel like offering them anything. Anyway. The point is: nice park, good size for little ones and my nephew had a great birthday. The end.

Very cool. A doggie water fountain.

Wow, never know this adorable park was here. A friend took me here for a walk on beautiful day. It is way bigger than it appears. They have tennis courts, baseball diamonds, picnic areas (with BBQs), a playground and I especially loved the doggie water fountain. Who knew? - well apparently my friend did and now I do too. Definitely will go back. Great place for a nice quiet picnic for two.

Picnic tables and grilles. Bring the charcoal, the beef, and then Fam!
    Steven G.

This place is quiet, clean, well maintained and had lots of trees for shade. The playground is perfect for kids and is clean and well maintained. There is a Basketball court with only one hoop. There is a large facility with clean public restrooms. The park has several large picnic tables and public grilles. We will definitely come back here again.

There is a grassy area for picnics.

There's not a lot of traffic around the park so it seems safe for your kids if you plan to bring them to play. If you're from around the area and need to take a breather and time to walk, this is a good place to walk around. I saw a few joggers, but it was mostly quiet and hardly anyone around. Since COVID19 a lot of restaurants are not allowing you to dine-in, so this is a good little place to picnic with your friends or family. We ended up staying in the car and parked right by the park. We were in a rush since we came around the holidays, so we could not stay to enjoy it. If I'm ever in the area and need a place to go for a picnic and Eagle Rock isn't allowing dine-in, then I would definitely come back.
