Nice hotel, great location looking out over the water. Staff are professional, easy going and courteous. Rooms are typical Northern Canadian town, dated, little noisy, tired, carpet worn, noisy heating but they are clean. Stayed here twice for work. The first time was pleasant the second time was not so pleasant. They put me in 246 and there's no AC in the room - only a fan and windows. I assumed that for a $$$ hotel, they would have came up with a solution. If possible, ask to not be put in 246. Other then that, my stay was uneventful. There are limited number of hotels in Prince Rupert. Crest would be considered a high end hotel in PR. I had a very long stay here. My hotel was billed directly to my client. They offer corporate rates for businesses. Service was pretty good. I enjoyed my stay. I did find that they are somewhat short staffed. I had issues with my toilet on my first night. My toilet was leaking and the staff downstairs said she can only take a look at it after her colleagues come back from break. Another time, the cleaner forgot to give me more toilet paper and again, I had to wait till someone comes back from break. Problems do get fixed. The bed I slept in was very comfy. Also good lighting in the room. The hotel decor is somewhat old style but the hotel is pretty clean. I can tell that they vacuum the floor everyday. In the suite there is a fridge. It is very convenient for someone who likes cold drinks. Another plus thing about this hotel is that it is also a pokemon gym (if you play Pokemon Go). It was perfect for me. Also, free long distance to call home (selected locations only). Only time the hotel is completely booked full is during the First Nation Basketball tournament. read more

I spent the last two nights at the Crest Hotel. When I checked in on Monday evening, I was pleased to discover that I'd been upgraded to a suite. Sweet! The bed is king-sized. The bathroom has a window that opens into bedroom. It was has a soaker tub (which I used both nights) and a glassed-in shower. There is a desk and fake gas fireplace. There is a balcony that overlooks the harbour. There is a mini fridge and the stuff isn't overpriced like a lot of places ... $2 for a can of pop, $6 for a beer, $2 for a bottle of water, etc. There are two restaurants in the hotel. I ate at both. The food was good and the servers very friendly. In fact, everyone in the hotel from the front desk to the maids are friendly. The hotel is next to a bingo hall/slots (I didn't check it out). There is a mall about a five minute walk away. Cow Bay, which is a cute area for shopping and restaurants, is a ten minute walk north. I flew in and the bus that takes you across the ferry to Prince Rupert lets you off at a hotel about a ten minute walk away (or a $5 cab ride). My only complaint (and this knocks my rating from a five star to a four star) is the Internet. It's included in the cost of the room and you need a password to get in which is provided when you check in. I got connected no problem. But every page I tried to go to directed me back to Crest's homepage to accept the rules, etc. I would hit "agree" and then get an error page. I did this about ten times trying IE and FireFox. I called the front desk who gave me the number for technical assistance. I got cut off both times when I was talking to him. The guy was nice enough to call me back after getting cut off the second time but by then I was tired (it was after midnight my time and I'd been travelling for 12 hours). I used my Bell Internet stick instead. I was here on business so being able to use the Internet was essential. read more

This hotel is very nice! I've stayed at innumerable places on this continent, good hotels are just that! What makes the difference are the people! The standout people make the business STAND OUT! The front desk staff have been EXCEPTIONAL! Great job! Titan is THE MAN! The night auditor was very 'by the book', however, made things happen! Awesome on her part, sorry her(your) name escapes me. Staying in the hotel. Didn't feel like venturing out. Gorgeous views of the water. Nice menu featuring local fare. Locals on tap, as well as a nice wine selection. Clam chowder is very tasty. We were too stuffed to get desert. Will definitely eat here again. read more

Great hotel. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of this hotel. The rooms are clean and have up to date bathrooms.. the rooms have a feeling of being in a different time. A 1920-30,s wall and floor decor. My room was a harbour view, they supply binoculars to enhance your viewing pleasure. The TV was a bit old for a flat screen, picture quality was minimal. The only complaint I have was the lack of Air conditioning.. the room did have a portable fan but it didn't cut it. I ordered eggs Benedict for breakfast and was a little disappointed with the lack of hollandaise sauce. It was really dry.. I highly recommend this accommodation. read more

The view was enjoyable but the food wasn't... Prices for the breakfasts were not okay and the breakfast was ass. Dry French toast, very gross chewing feeling in the mouth Eggs Benedict were prepared poorly, presentation of the food looked dull and unexciting, eggs were poached terribly and hollandaise was runny just a waste of eggs. This is the highest end restaurant in town. Beautiful restaurant with a nice atmosphere perched high above the harbor with a fantastic view. I had fisherman's spaghetti which is a nice twist on an old favorite with various seafoods rather than meatballs. The food and service were both very good. But, the view and ambiance are what push my rating to the top for this place. Pretty much every other place in town has a casual ambiance. This place has a high end atmosphere. So let's be clear, this should really be a 3.5 but on a Prince Rupert scale...likely closer to 4 stars for sure. The main issue I had was with the noise level. The walls are very thin which kind of surprised me in a not so pleasant way. I was kept up by neighbors upstairs at night and then woken up by neghbors next door in the morning. made restful sleep challenging. But it's an old hotel that was clearly reno'd so i get it. One more thing is the bathroom is very modern but had no bathtub which was a disappointment. I like my hotel baths! and the lack of door fro the shower meant that the floor was getting really wet. Having said all this, it's the best place to stay in Rupert by far. And the bar/restaurant downstairs is a huge plus. Godo quality food and room service is speedy. read more

The Waterfront restaurant at the Crest Hotel is a very reliable place to eat. The service is always prompt. Always courteous and always friendly. The menu consists of a lot of options: local, gluten free options, salads, burgers, seafood etc... Almost everything I tried has always been excellent, but especially the seafood. Plates that deserves a mention: calamari fritti (starter), fishermen's spaghetti, fettucine al salmon (!!!!!!), cowgirl salad, jambalaya penne. The steaks and burgers are also all pretty good. One thing I would like to add, and the only thing I could complain about, is that the "shrimp martini" starter was a little boring. The shrimps were good but the sauce felt too much like ketchup and not enough like a " fiery cocktail sauce". A bigger kick to the sauce would go a long way... Hotel is older but well maintained. It is very classy and situated right on the waterfront. The rooms are nice and mine had a window seat that overlooked the harbour. The restaurant food is very good with a nice lounge and outdoor seating on nice days. There are numerous indoor tables with beautiful views as the restaurant is lined with floor to ceiling windows. They are very accommodating and the hotel is close to many shops and cafes. A must for anyone visit Prince Rupert. read more

The Crest is just OK. It's the nicest hotel in Prince Rupert, but still just OK. I've never stayed in a regular room -- we usually get one of the suites, which have amazing views and king sized beds. The Treat Suite is the best one as it has a hot tub in the huge bathroom, but the bathroom fixtures in the Treat Suite are very 90s. Also, they used to have free porn channels but they don't anymore, so it's less of a "treat"... and the channels on the main TV aren't the same as the channels in the bathroom TV (yes, there's a bathroom tv) so basically you can sit in the hot tub and watch Say Yes to The Dress or Tosh.0 with your glass of wine when you'd rather be watching whatever movie is on in the next room... I also have a beef with the hotel gym. There's a steam room sauna type thing that is immediately adjacent to the workout room, and it's all glass so the people in the room have nothing to do but watch you work out. The steam room people (old dudes in towels) would just randomly wander out of the steam room and sit on the weight benches I wanted to use, talking to each other, leaving the steam room door OPEN so steam would flood into the workout room and make everything moist. Apparently this has been happening a lot over the past 20 years since every single piece of workout equipment is rusty. All of the cables and machines are pretty much inoperable. If you are checking in and intending to get a workout in during your trip to PR, either investigate other gyms, or stick to free weights and hope there is no naked old man in a towel there to thwart you. There is also an outdoor hot tub, which has never been occupied any of the times we've gone. We usually go in the morning but we stopped because we heard certain stories of unsanitary conditions. read more

Amaaaazing restaurant. I don't wanna build up expectations too much, but it's crazy good. Peppercorn burger...amazing. "KFC" chicken...(appetizer) amazing. Chicken penne with mushrooms...amazing. For breakfast my favourite is their spicy chicken omolette. Everything on the menu is seriously top notch. The decor is great and the view is unbelievable. This was the worst experience I have had in a restaurant in a long time. It started off fine received drinks and appies promptly but after that it was a downward spiral. An hour and a half wait for food that arrived under cook, dry or cold. Luckily for them a different server came over and took off all the food due to the fact that we didn't eat it and made at least our ending bare able. One other table walked out cause it took too long and another complained about the same problem as us. Will not go again!!! read more

Wonderful local seafood. For breakfast the "North Coast Beni" is to die for. Smoked BC salmon in the Benedict style. For dinner the salmon "Tataki" which is fresh BC salmon prepared medium rare with soy sauce, ginger and wasabi makes you think you have died and gone to heaven. read more

I have chosen to stay at the Crest three out of the last four times I have come to Prince Rupert. I love the location and the rooms are very nice but this visit the service was atrocious. The only exception was the fellow at the front desk who checked us in. Every time I have stayed here in the past, I have loved the food and service. Unfortunately, this time I feel the restaurant was ridiculously overpriced considering the poor quality of the food and service we received. I am more than happy to pay for good food and service, and I rarely feel compelled to complain. At breakfast, I had to chase down servers even though the restaurant was less than half full, and I got the impression that serving my basic requests for coffee and water were an extreme inconvenience. I was asked how I wanted my eggs, but they were delivered in the opposite state. When paying 16 dollars for one small piece of halibut on an English muffin, one would expect to receive the poached egg as requested. So disappointed. I could go on and on, but I won't. The other issue is the noise. Paper thin walls. I was asleep, but the snoring on one side, the after the bar crowd on the other side have kept me up for over an hour.
