And what a booming town this little hamlet used to be. And that is why you should tour Redstone Castle. You need to buy your tour ticket in town. Give yourself another 10 minutes to drive up to the castle, park, and get over to the castle. But it isn't really a castle. No moat. No drawbridge. No turrets or towers. It's just a big house. And considering I live in Boston Metrowest - I have friends who live in larger, more ornate, tackier houses. Most of the first floor of the house has been kept in "original" condition. But since the castle has been operated as a bed and breakfast or inn by previous owners, all of the bedrooms have been updated. No telling if there is any resemblance to the original. Also, most of the furniture is NOT the original stuff, so again not sure if any of the stuff is even period pieces. It is still cool to walk around. And imagine living there 100 years ago. It's really about the coal, not the castle.

Debbie and I had a…read moreverbal agreement for my wife and I to rent her condo in Aspen for 30 days this upcoming ski season. She confirmed, removed the listing from Airbnb, and asked me if we could send her the rental agreement we've used while renting our house in LA. My wife happily sent it over to Debbie and her attorney husband Peter Jagel after a seemingly great call Debbie and I had together. Well, over the course of 3 weeks they would make small changes to the agreement and send it back over to us and make clear that everything was good and we had an agreement in place. Then, right before signing while we were negotiating security deposit, right before Thanksgiving, Peter wrote us an email saying that they found a better offer and "sorry for the confusion." Ha! Confusion? And then Debbie had Jordan on her team at Whitman reach out to me with other options that were 2x as expensive! And now the other condos we were considering before choosing Debbie's condo are all gone. Worst of all, she won't call/email or text me back, just leaving my wife and I hanging. Horrible, low-integrity individual that exhibits spineless behavior. I would never, ever use Debbie or her husband Peter or any company they're affiliated with. And to think she's a professional real estate agent. Insane.

Great experience for our first ever ski trip!! Very comfortable and perfectly located right at the…read moreslopes. Friendly staff, easy parking; easy and scenic 10 minute drive into town. There's a cozy coffee shop on site and a small market across the street. 1-BR King suite was much bigger than expected. Nice bathrooms and kitchen. Loved the gas fireplace. The gym is fine (average hotel gym) and we enjoyed the indoor-outdoor pool as well as the outdoor hot tub. Would definitely stay here again in Crested Butte!

All I had was a bed and a dresser. No chair. Our air-conditioning was broke and the room look like a hospital room. We brought all of this to the front desk attention and they said there was nothing they could do because it was booked. They did end up having maintenance come up look at the AC and then decide to bring in a mobile air-conditioning venting it outside the window. The maintenance gentleman was awesome and the only person at the hotel that seemed to care. We will never stay here again.

The condo was fantastic, full kitchen, great location. If you are fortunate enough to stay here during winter the proximity to Ajax mountain gondola is ridiculous! You get room service and a concierge just like you would at the main hotel, but it seemed a little less crowded/busy. We used the concierge to book a bunch of activities ahead of our trip and as you can see by my reviews everything went off without a hitch. Mornings they provide a complimentary light breakfast spread and afternoons they put out drinks and snacks (though they didn't do a perfect job refreshing it). Would return without a second thought!

We rented a room for three days but I could have stayed much longer. There's an in room fridge for drinks, the tv cable system is the best I've ever seen in a hotel, and the quality of the bath products/robes is fabulous. They have thought of everything. It's the little touches like having extra bathrobes/towels in a heated sauna box by the pool for cool days that really show their attention to detail. The double sinks in the bathroom each have their own toothbrush holder, glasses, tissues, etc. It seems lie a small thing, but it is really a lovely touch.

He brings a sandwich spread to build your own that is incredible . Most guides provide you a store bought sandwich . Most of our trips have been very productive. Lots of fish and tall tales .

Very nearly ski-in, ski-out, depending on your ability level and comfort-level cutting through a few backyards.
