Despite being on the small side, it's loaded with amenities including bikes to borrow, hot tub, sauna, complimentary warm drinks (coffee, tea), wine and cookies in the lobby. Breakfast was small, but lots of fresh options including an orange juice press. Convenient location and easy walking to Elk Ave. Rooms are on the small side and are a little tired, but are clean and cheerful. All of the rooms have noise cancelling machines to help combat the lack of insulation in the walls. While not loud, you will hear everything going on around you. read more

Great location within walking distance of many restaurants and businesses. The rooms are fairly basic, but there is ample seating in the common areas, and the guests have access to a small fridge. Coffee, tea and hot cocoa is also available throughout the day. I think what sets this place apart is its cozy atmosphere and extra little touches such as freshly baked cookies daily at 4pm, and complimentary red wine served from 4 to 5pm. The staff is also very friendly. The heated ski storage is incredibly convenient during the ski season, and the shuttle to the slopes is just a few steps away. While breakfast was good, the space is not set up for it and it can get crowded quickly. I wish they'd open earlier than 7:30 during ski season. The warm savory and sweet pastries were delicious, and there is yogurt, fruits, boiled eggs, toast, oatmeal and cereals. Enough for us to start the day off right! I love staying here when we're in CB! My friends and I hiked West Maroon Pass and the four of us stayed in one room together with a queen and full (it was two couples). The beds were super comfy. I love the proximity of the place from downtown - walkable to everything Downtown. We got a six pack of beer from the liquor store down the street after dinner and sat on the second floor balcony which was super relaxing. I've stayed here three times now and still need to utilize the bikes they have our front, as well as the sauna and hot tub. I also love how they always put fresh cookies out at 4. One of the more affordable places to stay downtown for sure! read more

Wonderful little boutique hotel! It's not fancy, but it is a real find! The room is fairly basic however, there are lots of cozy common areas to sit and read. The hot tub is open until 10 o'clock at night. I love that I can make fresh coffee in the Keurig in the lobby for myself at any time. This is really nice for me because of the times I'm up too early for a fresh coffee with most hotels. The the staff at the front desk are friendly and helpful. Did a summer gettaway with the hubby to Crested Butte for some amazing mountain biking. We booked a queen bed room and we were pleasantly surprised by the quality we got out of the booking - especially when you look at the price point! The room itself was small, but I loved the small touches everywhere - had small tictacs and chocolates in the room. I also found the small open closet handy to put my carry on suitcase and hang clothes above it. There's electical outlets next to your head at bedside, though the USB port wasn't working for me. They have a guest refrigerator for you to borrow in the lobby (small, think dorm room size) if you have leftover and ofc a microwave in the lobby to heat it up. The room was clean and yes there was some noise, but we got a good night's rest as well. The star was honestly the amenities that the lodge offered. The continental breakfast was amazing - Why? Because you could feel the homey touch in everything! From the newly prepared blueberry parfaits, eggs, bowl of fresh cut up fruit, to the bread and spreads options (toaster around the corner!) and fresh squeezed orange juice machine. They also offered some oatmeal options and other milk options as well. We stayed a Friday and Saturday night and they switched up the fresh baked pastry selection. First day was amazing honey cinnamon buns and cheese/ham croissants while the second day was small chocolate croissants and an either egg/ham or cheese/ham danish selection. They have a great deck area upstairs that you can sit and enjoy the sun in. Afternoons were amazing because of the fresh baked cookies - they had four different kinds that you could chose from! I think I met one of the owners Hannah there who was so kind-hearted and answered all my questions. Overall, we found their bike storage room secure though we advise other travelers to bring their own locks just in case. The bike washing stations out front were super helpful. They also have umbrellas and bikes out front that you can borrow as well. We didn't use their sauna, but they have free towels in the front that you can use. Location-wise it was prime - they are right next to the main street so we could just strolled out and grab breakfast burritos for mountain biking and easily find restaurants to eat at night. Definitely would come back again and stay here if I got a chance! read more

To be honest, I feel like I got a bit took when I paid $170 for one of the smallest rooms I have ever stayed in. Folks, this room was TINY. Nevertheless, this place has a certain charm not offered by your typical chain hotels, free breakfast, gourmet coffee, plus a working hot tub (which my wife and I just happened to utilize all alone). I've been coming to CB since the mid 1980s and never stayed here. Now I'll never stay anywhere else. No robes in the closets. The rooms are small. The doors are creaky and I can hear the guy up stairs. BUT, there are fresh baked cookies daily. It's super clean and a very friendly staff. I met new people in the common living areas and napped in the sun on the balcony. AND they liked my dog who had his own fenced in yard. read more

What a wonderful stay for a little getaway! Christiana Guesthaus was the perfect place to stay and enjoy all that Crested Butte has to offer. The bed and breakfast had a welcoming feel as you enter into a rustic living area with large fireplace. This became a popular spot to warm by the fire in the morning while enjoying a continental breakfast. The fact that at the price point it was (during the crazy Christmas holiday) being so reasonable and including such an offering was a deal you can't beat. The room itself was very comfortable with all the necessary items needed. As to enhance the bed and breakfast experience there is no tv or mini fridge in the room, encouraging you to walk out to sitting areas and meet fellow travelers. I will say the walls are not too thick and you can hear people chatting about in the morning. With additional offerings of hot tub, sauna, friendly staff, Nordic ski/ Crested Butte lift ticket discounts, and a walk out the door to the main street, there is truly no other place I would want to stay. read more

I want to start this review saying this is a very affordable and awesome location hotel to stay! Though this is not a safe and secure place to stay as a young female. At 0800 while I was changing and getting ready for the morning and a man entered my room with a key, saw me, and then promptly left. There was no knock on my door and it was not housekeeping. Not sure who this person was and did not see them again as I promptly checked out. A secondary lock should be installed in all the rooms and staff should not be entering guests rooms without knocking and announcing they are coming in. Also having no employee staff available to talk about this encounter left me feeling even stranger about it. read more

Crying babies and screaming screeching toddlers. This place has clean rooms and the European style common area. Very pleasant conversation with my fellow travelers was interrupted by cries and shrieks of infants and toddlers that apparently belonged to the staff. This is worth mentioning as these children apparently belong to the employees and will be there for enjoyment or lack thereof, a future travelers. This is a perfect place to stay to enjoy the great skiing Crested Butte offers as well as the great character of the town of Crested Butte. The value provided is exceptional. Rates are very reasonable. The rooms are clean though perhaps a wee bit small, but hey you should be out having fun not sitting in the room !! The location is great, maybe 100 yards from the Town Shuttle stop. This free shuttle gets you to the ski area in less than 10 minutes. You are also right at the end of Elk St and a short walk to all the restaurants & shops. Continental breakfast every morning is tasty and filling to fur you for the slopes. The rooms are cute, clean, and the staff is very helpful. What is completely out of touch with modern hotel standards is that this place has a 2 week cancellation policy which is not stated anywhere on their web site. Caveat Emptor...if you are rolling in for a one night stay, no problem. If you book even a couple nights ahead have to alter your plans in any way, the best they will do is to "try to resell" your room. I won't be back until this policy is changed. read more

This place is adorable and well priced. Highlights include: - The main area has comfy couches and a large fireplace with free coffee/tea/hot chocolate 24/7 & lots of reading material if you forgot yours at home. - The hot tob is fantastic with a great view of the mountain - The breakfast is sooo good. Freshly made scones with butter and jam, croissants, fresh fruit salad, granola and yogurt - A room to put your skis and gear in that's heated (so you won't have cold boots when you ski!) and it's locked at night - Location: 100 feet from the shuttle that goes to the mountain yes, the rooms are small- so if that's going bother you, this may not be your place. I was there with my boyfriend and all of our ski/snowshoe gear, and while it would have been nice to have a bit more room, it didn't bother us and was worth it. Highly recommend it! read more

Seemed like a nice enough place but their pet friendly policy is interesting. They won't let pets stay in the rooms alone while their owners are away for dinner or skiing. Why have pet friendly rooms if you can't leave your pets in them. They did refund us our money but it took a call to the owner. Owner is great but Heidi wasn't much help at the front desk. Like I said, it seems like a nice enough spot but the per policy is a deterrent. We may give it a shot next time if we don't have the dog. read more

We stayed two nights at Cristiana Guesthaus in Crested Butte last week. First, the minuses: 1. Gutters are needed on the front porch to eliminate the run off from the balcony into small ponds next to the front entrance. 2. The battered front door mat needs replacement. 3. The front porch ramp needs white outlines. It is painted the same color as the front poach. It is difficult to notice even in daylight and thus easy to stumble into a pond (see #1 above). 4. Although the lobby space is limited, more tables are needed for the breakfast buffet. 5. The afternoon wine beverage is limited to red wine. Is it that costly to include a box of white wine too? 6. The squeaky floors in the bathroom are noticeable. 7. Good heavens, fix the guest rooms windows! Don't make the desk clerk into a carpenter making custom sawed 2x2's to hold the upper window open. When we noticed this defect and requested a different room, the response was "all the rooms have the same windows." ALL?! Next the positives: 1. Small clean rooms at a reasonable price 2. Comfortable bed 3. Tasty cookies in the afternoon 4. Great location - walking distance to downtown A separate note - we enjoyed staying in the town of Crested Butte rather than at the ski area as the town had many more shops and restaurants, and we avoided the excessive taxes and fees added to the ski village lodging costs. read more

We really enjoyed this quaint "GuestHaus"! The room was clean, but basic. No TV or frills, just simple no fuss, bed, full bathroom and 2 chairs. There was a TV in a communal area, and a fireplace where you could sit and have a cookie and/or wine in the afternoon (cookies about 4 & wine an hour later). I loved the friendly, cabin feel that encouraged guests to get to know each other. The continental breakfast was delicious, with homemade apple cinnamon bread and fresh squeezed-yes!-oj. Tip--the room has no thermostat, so ask for a fan if you get hot at night. The staff is kind and friendly! read more

I recently returned from a Crested Butte trip that went sour (as in major altitude sickness with some strep throat for good measure), and the Cristiana Guesthause was by far the best part of that trip (which is saying a lot--Crested Butte is AMAZING!). The rooms are small, but cozy, and the perfect place to tune out for a while and take in the gorgeous mountain views from your window without tvs to distract you. Upon arrival I was still pretty healthy and got to enjoy a dip in the guestaus's outdoor hot tub, which was almost surreal with our 360 degree views of mountain paradise. The sweet and thoughtful British couple that owns the bed and breakfast are around all day to converse and assist you with planning a good hike. They prepare a great breakfast of pastries, fruit and cereal, and you have access to tea and hot chocolate all day long! The location is also a plus--it's perfectly situated next to the main street in town and all stores and restaurants are within a ten minute walk. And the prices are GREAT. We stayed right before their busy summer season (before June 15th), and rooms were only $89 a night with breakfast included. When I started coming down with different symptoms for altitude sickness (nausea, head aches, etc.--I don't mean to be gross, it's a very real part of visiting high altitude locations like Crested Butte and I wasn't ready for it), the owner was very concerned and provided me with some medicine and advice on doctors. Long story short, I ended up in the ER in nearby Gunnison a few days into the trip because my symptoms were getting worse and worse, and the doctor recommended we check out of the Cristiana and instead move to lower altitude Gunnison. I was nervous that we'd end up paying for two hotel rooms as a result, but the owners at Cristiana Guesthause were so understanding that they let us check out of our room a day early, and at 5pm. I hope the owners know how much this meant to me! Crested Butte is an adorable mountain town with access to great hiking, mountain biking, river rafting and great dining--I wish I could have taken advantage of all the town has to offer! Love everything about this place. Beds are comfy, Hannah is so nice and welcoming, cookies are delicious, red wine and water with lemon in the evening is a nice touch. Breakfast is soo yummy. The 2 types of home made granola, fruit, homemade oatmeal so good. I love the orange juice maker!! The location is amazing to grab ski shuttle. The Cristiana was recommended to me by a friend who has stayed there quite a few times. It was exactly as described...very low key, comfortable place to enjoy Crested Butte. I was there in the low season and it was quiet during the week and busy during the weekend. The owners are great and pointed me towards a few local trails that I wouldn't have found on my own. Wow, this was just enough character for what Crested Butte seemed to represent. They were friendly, the room we had had two beds. The mountain view was amazing. The place also has a sauna and a hot tub which is totally nice after a long day. We stayed from Christmas for two days. I think they have something of a three day minimum stay but they overrided that since we had to move on to other places during our vacation stay. I would love to visit during the summer when they have so many activities and wildflowers. This place is virtually at the end of the main street in town. The bus stop is right in front so you can take the bus to the ski slopes. I wouldn't stay anywhere else now that I've come here. read more

Great hotel at a good price for CB. Our room was tiny, but had everything we needed. Very clean, nice linens and comfy bed. The breakfast is good. It's continental breakfast, but high quality food with delicious baked goods and yummy fresh fruit. The staff are very nice and helpful. The hot tub was clean and hot and felt great after mtn biking. The lobby fireplace lounge is inviting and very comfortable. There are extra tables upstairs on the balcony where you eat and hang out. Also there a big deck on the south side that looked like it would be great on sunny days. We had a rainy weekend, so didn't get to enjoy it. We stayed here during the holidays, Xmas to New Years, and at a time when things are really busy, Cristianas was a warm cozy place to come back to. Great breakfast, and really nice staff. This is the place! Look no further. Cristiana Guesthaus is where you want to stay in Crested Butte. Our company rented the inn for a retreat, and everyone was very pleased with our experience. The guesthaus is charming and quirky in all the best ways. The lobby area feels very much like a home away from home. The rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. There's a small kitchen area attached to the lobby with a small fridge with freezer compartment, microwave, filtered water (hot and cold). There's a hot tub AND a sauna! The staff is exceptionally friendly and accommodating. Hannah, one of the owners, is an absolute delight to be around and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Nothing beats eating dinner on that 2nd floor deck surrounded by mountains and trees! It's also within walking distance (5 minutes) to the the cutest little shops and restaurants, spas, and bars. read more

We found our room to be roomy, extremely comfortable and cleaned perfectly every day. The staff/hosts treated us like family and we REALLY enjoyed their truly delicious meals. There are positives and negatives about this place. On neutral ground it's a guesthouse for older people 50+. The positives are, it's clean, it's fairly quiet, it's well located (off the main drag but walking distance to everything), and the breakfast is excellent (a cold breakfast but fresh). The negatives are it's very dilapidated and in need of repairs. Rooms are small, doors don't fully close, lights don't work, and windows won't stay open. No TV, FYI. read more

The owners at the Cristiana Guesthaus made us feel exceptionally welcome and comfortable. Both were very friendly and knowledgeable and helped with hiking and dining suggestions. I loved this place. My wife & daughter liked it even more. It is comfortable and homey. I liked the fact that there was no TV in the room. Breakfast was really nice and we enjoyed the hot tub every day after hiking. We also sat on the balcony/deck and enjoyed a glass of wine at the end of the day. The location is perfect and easily in walking distance of historic Crested Butte shops and restaurants. Super cute place. Just changed hands and the family that runs it, with their 2 kids and 2 dogs are just lovely people. Rooms are smallish and you might hear stuff going on in the lobby but it's not that bad. We were here before the busy season kicked in. Breakfast was yummy. They had a fresh on demand orange juicer! Hot coco and tea is available through the day. You might time it right in the afternoon when the fresh cookies and wine comes out. Sauna and hot tub were nice. There is a great 2nd floor deck and a communal TV (no TV's in the room..at least not ours). All the little touches made our stay amazing. They have a few dog friendly rooms and our pup loved the backyard and the owners dogs. This place is in a great location. I've stayed at the base of the mountain before which is full of your typical hotels. If you want that personal touch then you should stay here! read more
