We didn't like the 1st room offered, so we moved 2 another room. The pool has a wine & appetizer party every Friday afternoon. There are 2 hot tubs, a beautiful waterfall at the pool, a fitness center & of course, towel service. I would definitely recommend this hotel all year round, but for the best rates, visit the off-season during the spring.

The hot tub was a nice bonus and the quiet courtyard area was perfect for relaxing after a long day on the trails. We enjoyed the great location, right near town but far enough off the bus route so as not to hear them passing by at all hours of the night. The actual room (one bedroom) was spacious with full kitchenette, utensils/cooking items, coffeemaker and coffee, full sized fridge. Television, iron, hairdryer, clock radio/alarm, free wifi, toiletries in the bathroom. Much more than I was expecting at their reasonable prices. There is a hot tub on property as well as a garden area with lounge chairs and seating area for guest use. Free parking. I would definitely stay here again.

It's included in the price, reinforcing what a steal this place is. Andrew gave excellent recommendations on gear and local attractions. The man cooks a mean f**kin' pancake too! On Sundays they have unlimited pancakes and they've got chocolate chip pancakes. It's like Denny's without the drama. The bathroom is emasculate, has a little light in there too. The campsites are tidy and well maintained. It's just a short drive to crested butte or gunnison, which makes this place perfect as a base camp. It's close to the road but the river is literally across the street. This place is best used if you want an easy morning, go for a hike or head into town, but if you like seclusion, this place is not quite secluded. I hate saying something negative because they are all so awesome, but it is true.

We stayed at the Gamekeeper's Cottage during our recent 4 day visit to Redstone to celebrate our…read moreone year wedding anniversary. We were seeking quiet, cozy surroundings to get away from the hustle and bustle of our busy days in DFW, and what we found was a gem of a town that will be a retreat for us year after year. The Cottage has all the comforts of home...and them some. (We don't have a wood burning fireplace in our home, so that was a treat for us and we used it every day of our stay.) We were able to cook if we wanted to (kitchen was stocked with dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker and french press, condiments, utensils, etc.), or hop in our Jeep for a quick ride up to the Inn. Janette was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed, and everyone in Redstone was about as sweet as they come (and everyone knows everyone). Also provided: TV, DVD collection (great choices, too), cozy master, furnished master bath with heated floors, and a jacuzzi that served as the perfect place to take in the breathtaking view of the stars at night. (The photos and description seen here are faithful to the property.) Redstone itself is within a two minute drive of the cottage, and I imagine it's an easy walk as well (we had our rental so we just used it). This was the perfect home base for our Colorado getaway (we also spent a little time in Carbondale, which was great, and Aspen, which we'd pass on again). Whether you're seeking a romantic trip to the mountains with your love--complete with robes (provided), a warm fire (tools provided), hot tub (provided), and champagne (grab a bottle at the G Store, though don't be surprised if J&J leave you a little something)--or you want to reconnect with family and friends (dive into the board games, cards, DVDs, or head outside to play horseshoes or enjoy some coffee in the adirondack chairs strewn about the lovely lawn), this cottage is the perfect place to make memories that you will treasure for years to come. Just read through all of the sweet memories captured in the Guest Book over the years. You'll understand quickly why those who have had the pleasure of staying at GC don't ever want to leave, and can't wait to go back! It's My Favorite of the 4 mountains in Aspen for sure. ----------------------------------- As far as Aspen as a Whole, everyone knows Aspen is 5-Stars...the town, the restaurants, the nightlife, the people, all 4 mountains. It's all Top Notch, and the best Ski Resort Town in the Americas (both North and South), in my opinion. Even skiers in Europe, South America and Japan know Aspen. Most skiers rate ski resorts on just the mountain (extreme level) and snow. I'm different. I rate ski resorts as an Overall Package...the mountains, snow, amenities (lifts, rentals, food on mountain), apres ski, crowds and what the people are like, nice restaurants, bars/clubs/nightlife, higher-end lodging with outdoor hot tubs, etc. I'll admit, I don't go skiing just to ski, I go for the food and nightlife too, and well, I'd be lying if I said I didn't like to be pampered while I'm at it, lol. Going up and down the mountain to just ski, packing my own lunch, and just having a few beers back at the room while smoking pot is not my thing, as it is with most skiers, especially ski bums, lol. So, given that, for me, the Best Ski Resorts in the World are: 1. Verbier, Switzerland 2. Aspen, Colorado 3. Chamonix, France 4. St. Anton/Lech, Austria 5. Cortina, Italy 6. Zermatt, Switzerland 7. Ischgl, Austria 8. Whistler, Canada 9. Bariloche, Argentina 10. Niseko, Japan And Yes, I've been to almost every major ski resort in the World - 22 West Coast, 17 East Coast, 9 in Europe, 6 in Canada, 4 in South America and 2 in Japan. So, as you can see, I love Aspen! And if there's any place you should ski at least once in your lifetime, it should be here! Just my opinion.

I recommend that everybody goes up to Aspen Highlands and rides the tram all the way up or whatever…read morethey call it. Try to get on the red one as it has Bluetooth capabilities and you can play music all the way up to 16 minutes to the top of the mountain. The ride is smooth even when it's windy. When you get to the top I recommend trying the food at the restaurant it's fresh and the service is spot on.

Stayed at San Moritz Condominiums-International building over Presidents Weekend. We booked the…read more1st floor thinking it was easy access to get into the building. Please note that 104 does not mean first floor. You literally are on the bottom floor and have to climb the three flights every trip (in addition to the flight of stairs to the parking lot). Our space was sufficient for what we needed. It was pet friendly for our daughter's puppy. She had indicated that they were bringing the puppy but apparently it did not get into the notes or on the booking. Either way, the maid service did not come but once and never came again when they realized that the puppy was in her crate. The water in the kitchen never got warm for washing dishes. The beds were adequate for a condominium. I always pull back the bedding when I arrive to a location. The sheets had apparently been washed with something that had black lint in it. There was black balls of lint all over the bedding. You can imagine the concern we had until examination closer. The yellow warning tapes were on the deck due to the snow that was accumulated on deck. Going up and down steps outside the building were difficult. View from the room was good, but so much snow piled up that you had to go outside to really see the mountains. The biggest plus to the San Moritz was the shuttle service to town. It was only a phone call away. We did not have to wait more than 15-minutes. If they were going to be longer than the time needed, they would tell you to call back.
