I have been to many studios and have worked with many teachers. I love Big Bear Pilates and Siri D. First of all Big Bear Pilates is the best studio I have ever worked in. Bright, open, and with a terrific selection of top quality equipment. Siri D deserves credit for having the cleanest studio I have ever seen. . I love it!! Siri is a terrific teacher. She is very knowledgeable about Pilates. Something that I find very unique about her is that she has an instinct for how hard to push you in a workout. My biggest objection to other teachers has been that their workouts were either too easy or too hard. Siri pays attention, and pushes you as hard as you need to go at that moment, as opposed to running you through a generic series of exercises. A great Pilates Studio!!

The instructors are each wonderful and unique, bringing a variety of yogi backgrounds making each class a bit different for us students and ultimately an exciting and fun challenge. I personally love mixing up my week alternating Vinyasa 1-2 with Gentle Flow or Restorative. Candlelight Flow is another favorite! Pilates and Beginner Yoga are also offered each week, and amazing Soundbath classes. Another brilliant 'plus' about MYC is the option to take classes virtually (Zoom). Almost every class in-studio is also offered online! Super convenient on work & travel days. This review is long overdue because I have been training with Megan since the Spring 2018 (about 7…read moremonths now) and since the very beginning I have been so happy that she is by my side- helping me, challenging me but also supporting me -as I work towards my health and fitness goals (which were to reduce body fat/tone, increase muscle and endurance). Since training with Megan 2-3 x week, I have gained muscle (hello glutes, triceps, quads!), strength (especially my core which previously was my weak spot due to an abdominal surgery and having 2 kids) and more definition. Overall I also feel healthier and have more energy. She has truly helped me make exercise a part of my lifestyle with long term results! (No "quick-fix" gimmicks here) Clearly Megan is very knowledgeable and experienced-I appreciated that she took the time to understand my goals, body structure, & lifestyle- to design a workout plan specific to me. I like how they have alternatives if you want to further your stretch. The downfall is that the space is very small and you can comfortably fit 6-8, but this place is so popular they'll max out at 12-14. However, no matter how large or small the class is you still get a great session overall. I recommend showing up 20-30 mins prior to get a good spot.
