The instructors are each wonderful and unique, bringing a variety of yogi backgrounds making each class a bit different for us students and ultimately an exciting and fun challenge. I personally love mixing up my week alternating Vinyasa 1-2 with Gentle Flow or Restorative. Candlelight Flow is another favorite! This place is awesome! Visiting from out of town and was looking for a morning yoga class but could only make 11am for Dana's 'beginner yoga'. I was concerned it was going to be too slow and introductory but it turned out to be the BEST yoga class I've had in years. Dana is the kind of instructor that could guide you with your eyes closed and that's not easy to find! Not to mention she gives great direction on proper positioning and technique. The class was a perfect mix of stretching, breathing, and mild flow. As an athlete that uses yoga primarily for cross training/stretching, finding peace amongst a fast-paced lifestyle, and staying limber and strong, this was the perfect class. Was visiting with my family for a few days and found this little Gem and also got to meet the very sweet and lovely Dana. It was my very first experience but my daughters is more a regular yoga attendee. I really enjoyed the easiness of a beginners class and my daughter (who joined me) was very pleased with the peaceful environment and exercises. If I lived here I would be here daily!! I enjoyed the Sunday Vinyasa Yoga class with Dana. There is a great vibe here. The room is comfortable, light and clean, and just the right size so that you can really stretch out your poses without having to be mindful not to kick your neighbor. They have mats to loan if you forgot yours. This is a great place to continue your practice while vacationing here. Dana is expert with demonstrations and clear directions to adjust alignment and options to progress to more advanced poses and movements. Childs pose always an option. She allows sufficient time for Shavasana. I will be back. read more

I can not say enough about how much I enjoy going to this studio. Dana teaches in an uncomplicated, easy to follow way, with modifications if you need them at any point. I always leave feeling energized and centered. Plus, I know my posture has improved and the body awareness I have gained allows me to constantly be aware of how I move and stand. I've seen locals and regulars in the classes, as well as PCT hikers and visitors so its a nice mix of people who are all doing their own practice - its a good energy. There's mats and blocks and blankets if you need them and the studio is serene with simple decoration designed to help you focus. Its the best way to start my day! read more

I took Dana's 1/2 vinyasa flow class and Stefanie's gentle yoga class while visiting Big Bear for the Christmas holidays. The vibe in the studio was candlelit and welcoming, with plenty of natural light. The Gentle Yoga class was a perfect way to start the day and warm up after our heavy meals the night before. Plenty of modifications were given and we walked out with warm blissful muscles after a well rounded hour of hip and chest openers and plenty of yummy yin/restorative postures. The next day, the vinyasa yoga class with Dana was one of the best yoga classes I have taken in recent memory! A nearly perfect pairing of strong flow sequences to build heat and some sweat, as well as deep detoxifying twists and poses that challenged the abs and booty. A beginner would do fine here as she offered modifications. Well balanced and energizing is a good descriptor for our visit. I'm so glad I dropped in before the long traffic-filled drive home to Northern California. Very glad I found this place! read more

I took a chance and fully submerged myself into yoga. Luckily, I came across mountain yoga. So when I first walked into a class I decided to just buy a class. I took a beginner class with Alicia. By the end of the class I decided to change it to a buy 5 get 1 class free for $50. She changed it with no problem. The next day I went to Colin's candlelight flow class and by the time I finished that class I changed my 5 classes get 1 free to an unlimited month for $75. Might I add that they just let me pay the difference it was to change to each different package I did! I finally had a chance to have a class with Dana whom is the owner of this amazing yoga studio and that's when I totally fell in love with the whole place. Each individual teacher has a different flow that can be inviting to any individual. They help you with every move and gives you pointers at the end of class! I am new to yoga so I like to make sure I am doing the right thing. Oh! And they have workshops that I had the privilege to go to that cost me $25 for 3 hours of detailed information about different positions and background information as well. This review is for the restorative yoga class only. My husband and I, who practice yoga several times a week, were in the area for a getaway and loved the sound of a gentle yoga class so the restorative yoga sounded great. Unfortunately this class should be labeled as a meditation class, not an actual yoga class. There was no stretching and no actual poses except for a bit of cat/cow. As a meditation class it isn't bad, but make sure you arrive with the proper expectations. As we were expecting to engage in some actual yoga the class was an expensive disappointment to us. read more
