Outside of my veggie-heavy CSA haul, here's what ends up in my tote bags: -FRUIT: West Michigan is the fruit belt after all. The season starts with strawberries; peaks with peaches, apricots, nectarines, watermelon, cherries, raspberries, tomatoes, and BLUEBERRIES; and winds down with apples and pumpkins. -MORE VEG: Basically, you name it, and you'll find it at the market. -Maple syrup: you're very lucky if you can get your hands on the varieties infused with whiskey as well as elderberry. -Blank cards: go see Marguerite, she's a talented artist, and she also makes delicious jams. -Cheese: the Cheese People of Grand Rapids know their stuff. -Sourdough loaves -And during blueberry season: blueberry muffins from Bowermans...or blueberry donuts...or blueberry handpies. You can't go wrong. That's about all I can fit (and afford) on a weekly basis, and know that there's so much more deliciousness...and plants. There's a lot of those too! The market is also market-ing on Saturdays. That's when it's a full house in terms of vendors. If there's one vendor you can't pass by, it's Rudy at Fantabulous Fudge. He's been slinging *the best* fudge in the area for years, and in the fall, he makes some bomb caramel apples using orchard apples. Lastly, I recommend coming in the spring, summer, and fall if you can swing it, as there are certain vendors that only make appearances during certain parts of the season.

I especially like that we can buy a half pie. We did just that today. We now go one or two days a week and enjoy our treats at the picnic tables outside. We've also begun buying a few produce items here such as lettuce and tomatoes. Even though Heidi's is a little out of the way, the trip is worth it even with $4.00 gas.

There is a whole wall of baked goods like pies and danishes. But the star of the show are the donuts. Homemade and fresh. A dozen of these beauties are less than $14. I'm writing a separate section on the cinnamon rolls. I happen to be a cinnamon roll Connoisseur. They are handmade, stuffed with cinnamon, not too sweet, with just a drizzle of icing on top. Perfection. There was a separate nursery with plants over on the other side of the building. We did not go over there, but it looked very intriguing. When we're in the area will definitely be back.

This was our first time here - but it will NOT be our last. I loved everything from the moment we set foot on the property. It is genuinely rustic, not artificially so. Everyone we encountered that works here was friendly and seemed to like their jobs! We didn't know before we got here but it is Blueberry Festival this weekend and there were blueberry themed drinks and food. They had free samples of blueberry soda, blueberry lemonade, blueberry jam and blueberry buckle and fresh blueberries! We tied all of it and it was all delicious! The lemonade was one of my favorites. We wandered the store for a bit and I think I'll end up taking one of everything I saw. I think I said "oh! I want that!" to AT LEAST 15 things. We had the 2 blueberry special drinks - blueberry lemonade mimosa and the blueberry frosé, we really enjoyed both. To eat we shared the BTB - which was another blueberry special. Brie, turkey and fresh blueberries on sourdough. I really liked it! I wish the blueberries had either been jam or some other sort of spread/compote instead of the whole blueberries. They kept rolling out of the sandwich haha. But the flavor combination was wonderful. The turkey and the sourdough were both grilled, which I made me real happy. Oh! The sandwich came with kettle chips that were the best kettle chips I've ever had - Which reminds me I was going to grab a bag to go and I totally forgot! We also had the Farmer's Daughter pizza which was awesome. Crispy crust on the bottom, but fluffy and light on top. Just the right amount of sauce and the toppings were great. We had the Oreo shake as well, also tasty! It melted quick! It was a pretty toasty day without much breeze. We ordered some donuts and a cinnamon roll to go, I'll have to review those later when we eat them - I'm too full right now! They have a pickle fest coming up next weekend and I want to go back! There was no cost to enter on weekdays, making it a more accessible and fun activity. There is a large area with food, drinks, doughnuts, and other food and accessories. There were all sorts of options for people of any age and palate. I didn't end up picking any fruit but we did get to visit the animals and walk around. I had no idea that they had a variety of animals like cows, goats, and more. The staff were incredibly warm and friendly and there was a lot of available parking. I definitely think this is a fun place to bring a family or go on a date.

Also, no alcohol is served in this open area. Hubby got the Cuban hash and devoured it. I got the Cuban meal and couldn't finish it - even though I wanted to! Our boys each got hotdogs and they both looked really good! We also got a hot pretzel... HIGHLY recommend that! All in all, food was hot, fresh and came out pretty quickly. We brought a couple of our younger kiddos to Ronnie Mack's to pass the time while we waited for our older kids to finish up some weekend business they had outside of town. We had never been here before, but the great reviews drew us in. I got a cuban sandwich and my husband got a hash. My cuban was incredible, but when I got a bite of my husband's hash, I was blown away. My kids got standard dogs (they don't know how to venture into the great unknown with trying new foods yet), and they were pleased. While we were eating, Ronnie called us over for a surprise bonus to our meal and asked us to give him some feedback on new flavors he was trying out. I don't want to give away the surprise, but once again, I don't know how many times I can express being "blown away". His knowledge and expertise with flavor profiles and balance is superior to most of what I have had. And I am well traveled! Ronnie, thank you for your generosity and kindness. We loved this orchard SO much!…read more I couldn't believe the amount of fun, free entertainment packed into this farm. We ended up spending nearly three hours bopping our way between activities and snacking. We enjoyed cider, a variety of donuts (including apple cider and pumpkin with cream cheese icing), a big ole bag of "seconds" apples that were in great condition, paid for the four wheeler/train ride through the peaches and much more. The kids especially loved the goats, slide, tractor ride through the property and corn "Sand box". Bathrooms and snack stands were plentiful and clean throughout the front portion of the farm. The staff was all very engaged and friendly as well. I loved that this spot didn't feel cheesy or over commercialized like some orchards can become. It was truly perfect. Can't recommend it enough.

While they have someone guiding you most of the time, people visiting are not always the most mindful and don't let you out to give up your spot. There is only one entrance/exit for cars, so I think they need to be a little bit more upfront with the flow of traffic and constantly have someone guiding everyone to ensure that parking isn't backed up. There are pumpkins, tracker rides, a little parade car for kids (and adults can fit too) and a play area for the kids. I think it's the perfect place to grab donuts, cider, pick some apples and grab your pumpkin. Just be warned that some areas may be more hectic than others, but that's what you get with a sunny October weekend!
