Kingma's is a locally-owned market and home and garden center that's been around for 80 years. They carry a wide selection of local and Michigan-made products in this small but mighty store. I love going in and just browsing because there's so much to see. Check out the local produce, bulk snacks and treats, large deli case, meat counter, greenhouse, and more! There are always deals and sales, and I often will just pop by without a list, which is dangerous but fun. (I lead a thrilling life, I tell you what. lol) The last time Nate and I were at Kingma's, I got a pork shoulder and some delicious local Little Rooster hamburger buns to make pulled pork. The meat counter employees were helpful and friendly. We also got a beautiful potted mum from the greenhouse - they had tons of different colors and sizes, perfect for fall decor. Kingma's also houses Sparrow Coffee, a cute little coffee counter tucked away on the side of the building. There is ample parking in their designated lot, but you'll see plenty of area neighbors walking to and from Kingma's. The aisles can be a little cramped, but I think it adds to the charm. Love having this local gem near our house!

Had a great visit to Kingma's today! I have always enjoyed going but they recently had a renovation that makes the store so much easier to get around! They focus on Local West Michigan and Michigan items which is very fun. I love their deli counter. Their deli meat is top-of-the-line, and their premade salads and sandwiches are awesome. Their meat counter is large and you'll definitely find something you like and their specialty items are fantastic! It's always a fun trip to go! I took home some loaded potato soup that you can get at the deli counter and I might be going back weekly to have it. It was so good!

Kingma's Market focuses on local products and specialty items. One of our favorite reasons to visit Kingma's is the candy wall. Behold. Every kind of candy your heart could ever desire. You can't miss it. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Check out their extensive collection of kombucha, barbecue sauce, cheese and locally roasted coffee! Yes, we know, that's quite an odd list, but trust me when I say that they have a great selection of all of these things among hundreds of other local goodies (like bread from Wealthy Street Bakery!) ⁣⁣⁣

Kingmas is our go-to local market. Great place to go grab a couple of things when you're in a rush and a large selection for the size of the store. A+ for beer, wine and candy selection and also a great place to find a huge variety of local products and plants. We normally stop in a couple of times a week but now that they added a Sparrows coffee we will definitely frequent more often!

Very cool little grocery store and surprisingly great selection of plants and flowers in the summer months! I bought an indoor plant that was great quality and very affordable! Not the most friendly workers so that is why I gave it a 4 store but I can get over that as the selection of unique foods and drinks was worth it! My girlfriend bought a kombucha and was amazed at the brands and variety they carried!

Everyone should have a place like this in the neighborhood! Fresh produce, hand cut meats from real butchers, a quality cheese shop with knowledgable staff to answer questions, fresh flowers, a huge imported beer selection and (best yet) loads of wine. Kingma's is a gem! i stop by most evenings on my way home and cook fresh from what looks interesting. If they had a seafood counter you would never need to go anywhere else. Dave's meat counter has homemade bacon and sausage and when in season don't pass by the Soulvaki. Everyone should have a place like this in the neighborhood but not everyone is as lucky as I am!

As long as I have lived in this neighborhood I have enjoyed shopping here. The atmosphere is very clean and classy. While the prices may be a little higher than a Meijer the reason is because of the quality of product. The produce is always fresh and fully ripe. The variety of cheeses and mixed olives has always been a big hit with my family. They also have a very large selection of craft beer and wines. I must admit that I have never used the meat counter, but it is something I plan on using this summer for steaks.

I'll keep this simple... when I'm paying top dollar for steaks... the last thing I want to see is…read morethe butcher coming in from smoking a Ciggy and handling my meat without washing up. Pretty gross.

I saw some posts from Dokl's on Facebook recently and was intrigued. It's a small restaurant…read moreattached to a butcher shop/meat counter and they only serve lunch and breakfast. Breakfast is served anytime they're open, which is cool since it's my favorite meal. Nate and I were in the area running an errand a few months ago, so we stopped in for lunch. We got the bratwurst sandwich to split. It was quite hefty, with two thick bratwurst patties, sauerkraut, and stone ground mustard on a pretzel bun. It's served with fries that are seasoned and almost beer battered. I think I was expecting it to be amazing with how awesome it looked, so I was a bit disappointed when it fell a little flat. It was just really lacking in flavor for me. The patties were juicy and cooked nicely, they just didn't have a lot of flavor. Then even the sauerkraut seemed like it was almost just braised cabbage, not a lot of that zingy sour flavor I like. I'd like to try a burger next time, or maybe breakfast - I saw a photo of the corned beef hash that looked so good! The two employees working were super friendly and kind, and one came out and checked on us as we were eating. If I lived closer I'd definitely go back soon to try something else. It might be a bit before I get back to Dokl's but I'd love to try the Cajun blue cheeseburger!
