Kingma's is a locally-owned market and home and garden center that's been around for 80 years. They carry a wide selection of local and Michigan-made products in this small but mighty store. I love going in and just browsing because there's so much to see. Check out the local produce, bulk snacks and treats, large deli case, meat counter, greenhouse, and more! There are always deals and sales, and I often will just pop by without a list, which is dangerous but fun. (I lead a thrilling life, I tell you what. lol) The last time Nate and I were at Kingma's, I got a pork shoulder and some delicious local Little Rooster hamburger buns to make pulled pork. The meat counter employees were helpful and friendly. We also got a beautiful potted mum from the greenhouse - they had tons of different colors and sizes, perfect for fall decor. Kingma's also houses Sparrow Coffee, a cute little coffee counter tucked away on the side of the building. There is ample parking in their designated lot, but you'll see plenty of area neighbors walking to and from Kingma's. The aisles can be a little cramped, but I think it adds to the charm. Love having this local gem near our house!

Had a great visit to Kingma's today! I have always enjoyed going but they recently had a renovation that makes the store so much easier to get around! They focus on Local West Michigan and Michigan items which is very fun. I love their deli counter. Their deli meat is top-of-the-line, and their premade salads and sandwiches are awesome. Their meat counter is large and you'll definitely find something you like and their specialty items are fantastic! It's always a fun trip to go! I took home some loaded potato soup that you can get at the deli counter and I might be going back weekly to have it. It was so good!

Kingma's Market focuses on local products and specialty items. One of our favorite reasons to visit Kingma's is the candy wall. Behold. Every kind of candy your heart could ever desire. You can't miss it. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Check out their extensive collection of kombucha, barbecue sauce, cheese and locally roasted coffee! Yes, we know, that's quite an odd list, but trust me when I say that they have a great selection of all of these things among hundreds of other local goodies (like bread from Wealthy Street Bakery!) ⁣⁣⁣

Kingmas is our go-to local market. Great place to go grab a couple of things when you're in a rush and a large selection for the size of the store. A+ for beer, wine and candy selection and also a great place to find a huge variety of local products and plants. We normally stop in a couple of times a week but now that they added a Sparrows coffee we will definitely frequent more often!

Very cool little grocery store and surprisingly great selection of plants and flowers in the summer months! I bought an indoor plant that was great quality and very affordable! Not the most friendly workers so that is why I gave it a 4 store but I can get over that as the selection of unique foods and drinks was worth it! My girlfriend bought a kombucha and was amazed at the brands and variety they carried!

Everyone should have a place like this in the neighborhood! Fresh produce, hand cut meats from real butchers, a quality cheese shop with knowledgable staff to answer questions, fresh flowers, a huge imported beer selection and (best yet) loads of wine. Kingma's is a gem! i stop by most evenings on my way home and cook fresh from what looks interesting. If they had a seafood counter you would never need to go anywhere else. Dave's meat counter has homemade bacon and sausage and when in season don't pass by the Soulvaki. Everyone should have a place like this in the neighborhood but not everyone is as lucky as I am!

As long as I have lived in this neighborhood I have enjoyed shopping here. The atmosphere is very clean and classy. While the prices may be a little higher than a Meijer the reason is because of the quality of product. The produce is always fresh and fully ripe. The variety of cheeses and mixed olives has always been a big hit with my family. They also have a very large selection of craft beer and wines. I must admit that I have never used the meat counter, but it is something I plan on using this summer for steaks.

There is a lot of foot-traffic in the market, but ordering has never been difficult and the service is typically decent. Over the years, I've been back to Carver's multiple times and they have upped their game since my first visit. The burgers have been great and the fries are particularly good. Their menu changes with their inventory, but there are always burgers and good sandwiches. The French Dip, Pulled Pork and Reubens have been standouts. This is now my go-to for lunch when the family stops at the Downtown Market.

Carvers has an actual kids menu. I don't think any other food stall in the market has a kids menu, so that's a bonus. The kids' menu includes the standard kid fare: chicken tenders, grilled cheese, a hot dog, a cheeseburger. That was enough variety for my children, who picked a grilled cheese and cheeseburger. All of the kids' meals are served with fries. We also got steak fries, which I was told were "very good." OK! The steak fries were what you'd imagine them to be: fries topped with chopped pieces of steak, topped with white cheese sauce. I was impressed by Carvers ready-to-eat offerings in their refrigerated case. They had stuffed baked potatoes, ready-to-grill asparagus, cole slaw, egg rolls, and even elote salad (which is labeled as street corn salad). Lots of delicious-looking foods ready to take with you.

This comes with 4 meats, 4 sides, and 4 pieces of Cornbread. I got Pulled Pork, Brisket, Smoked Wings, and Ribs ($8 upcharge) for my meats. For the sides I got Mac N Cheese, Bbq Pit Beans, Mashed Potatoes, and Spicy Creamed Corn. Overall everything was good and well cooked. From best to least it was Ribs, Brisket, Smoked Wings, and then the Pulled Pork. I would get the ribs and brisket again, but probably pass on the wings and pulled pork. The Bbq beans were only okay, oddly enough as cold leftovers they were much better. The Mac N Cheese was okay, but I wouldn't get it again. The Mashed Potatoes were very good. The spicy Cream Corn was excellent, they weren't lying it has a spicy kick! Funny enough the best thing was the Cornbread. It was fantastic, some of the best I've had. The worst thing? The sauces. They all were not good at all. The most tolerable one is their regular sauce, still a c minus. The service was good, but I was asked how I was doing about a hundred times. Still everyone was friendly. Overall a 4 star review. Would I return? If I was in Lansing then Yes. It is quality bbq cooked by someone with skill. I just might bring my own bbq sauce.

It's was the end of the day but Kramer didn't mind. He welcomed us all with a big smile and how can I help attitude. Affordable organic, grass-fed, and pastured products with an emphasis on made-in-Michigan. Besides custom cuts and a full display cases they have a fully stocked deli and offer many grocery items. It was about $20 per pound, which is certainly better than any restaurant pricing so I was happy. I don't buy a ton of meat so I'm not sure if that pricing is in line with other stores, but I wanted to support this local shop right in my own neighborhood. They had a large selection of other cuts of meat, chicken, and packaged items like crackers, sauces, dips, gifts, and more. I'm definitely coming back to Grand Butchers the next time I need a more special cut of meat. Love the large parking lot and I was in and out in no time.
