My experience with Montana Crestview was extremely frustrating and disappointing. Communication was consistently poor, and I felt treated with a lack of basic respect and transparency. After my eviction -- which I acknowledge -- I was shocked to be charged for what appeared to be general maintenance or upgrades to the apartment. I shared my experience in a review, and Montana Crestview sent me a cease and desist letter threatening legal action unless I took it down. In my opinion, this was an attempt to silence criticism. I believe potential tenants should be aware of how Montana Crestview handles both tenant relations and public feedback. I lived at Crestview for about 4 years. Everything was exceptional except for the "hands off" managing team. Don't waste your time with a phone call. There is no way to contact a manager or employee in any urgent matter. This created a lot of issues during the move out process. Throughout my entire move out process, I had to continuously ask via email what documents were required to sign. Every week there was a new document in the portal that I somehow "missed". At one point, my roommate was told that I was missing more paperwork. Crestview had no clue what I was talking about until I emailed them a screenshot of what my roommate was told. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. Two days before the lease expired, I asked Crestview if there was anything else I needed to sign. They told me no and that they would let me know if anything came up. Great! Until the next day. I received a random text saying that unless MORE paperwork was signed within 3 hours, I would be automatically enrolled into another year lease. I was frantic at my job trying to sort through exactly what needed to be done. This also put stress on my co-signer, who was also receiving texts and emails regarding missing signatures. Every time the portal app refreshed, a new document would appear. This entire process was extremely misleading, frustrating, and difficult. I wanted to write a good review for Crestview, I did enjoy my time living there. The maintenance team is fantastic, the landscapers do a stunning job, and I love seeing neighbors dogs and cats. However, the managing team absolutely ruined it. They never apologized for the inconveniences and confusion. Every email was rude and inconsiderate. Notice all the lovely 5 star reviews? Watch out for pool Karens Got our pool card taken away for our four sons just having fun and unwinding like teenagers do. All I saw them do was race, have chicken fights, and push each other into the pool. There were other people in the pool too, a mom and her toddler, a younger couple, and a couple about mid 30s. My boys never went into the area of these people nor did they do anything to get in their way or cause discontent. This goes without saying that there a no rules stating that you're not allowed to be noisy, use profane language or have fun. I'll admit the only thing I was unsure of was that I never knew that you couldn't have beer by the pool. My wife didn't know either. Even then it's not like both of is were heavily intoxicated acting like -------s. We were just having fun with our sons that we hardly get to spend time with. So as we're packing up to leave, some lady points out our bucket cooler and yells "you're not allowed to have alcohol" that's fine but why not introduce yourself? After that she yelled at my wife to give her our pool card. That's when my wife yelled back at her saying she wasn't going to give her anything. So as this was going on I did notice a sign stating the pool rules. One said no drinks or food. In order for this lady to come cause a scene, she walked by someone else's Stanley cup with who knows what was in it. That person could've had whiskey but the lady's main goal was to act hard with us instead. Totally unprofessional and also dishonest. They messaged my wife stating that people were complaining about noise and alcohol use. Totally lied. They used one of the 30 cameras in the pool area to spot us, then decided to come down and act like a jackass. We asked the other tenants that were down there if we were being annoying or out of line because I wanted to apologize. They said that they didn't care, that they thought most of the boys shenanigans were funny and that the manager was way out of line. So on top of everything else they're liars and cowards. read more

Management wants to claim the inaccuracy of my husband's review. Well management is lying to you. Here is a message that I sent to "management" regarding the situation. Profiling most definitely took place. We were loud but we did not violate any noise ordinance. 6 people playing and splashing around in the water will create noise. No one was being belligerent or disorderly. We were playing with our kids. As far as drinking "multiple" beverages, we each had two. You asked the lady to check on the situation and what did she observe? Curious because by the time she was there we were already out of the pool laying in the chairs. She waited until we were leaving to intimidate, humiliate, and embarrass us in front of others. And I did not act inconsiderate to the lady. I acted well within my rights. I have the right to not give my personal information to someone who has not identified themselves as a manager or anything. She walked up behind me and demanded my pool key. She never said who she was. When she arrived to the pool if she had seen anything why didn't she address it then? It's because she wanted to make a scene. Which is unprofessional. Even law enforcement are required to identify themselves before you answer any questions. We have never met or seen anyone who works here so she could have been some random lady. And no the rules posted say nothing about water. It says no food or drink and also says no glass containers. So again, definitely profiling going on. If you are going to violate us for having drinks then everyone should be violated. But you just confirmed the profiling by stating that you pick and choose who you want to violate. If fun, splashing, and having fun with your kids trigger people then maybe don't go to the pool when families are at the pool. And lastly, if you didn't profile us, then why didn't any questions get asked to us? Why didn't that lady actually investigate? It's because you all never cared what our side was until after the fact. You only cared what you think you saw on cameras. That in my opinion is highly presumptuous and is the exact definition of profiling. This is the response you "staff" provided. Good Morning, we have not received your pool card. You need to turn this into the office immediately. Montana Crestview You and your staff lack professionalism and obviously need additional training in how to approach people. There are 100 ways to address a situation and you and your staff decided to be disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. I would also like to add that we have NEVER had any issue like this before here. So it's not like we are or were repeat trouble tenants. The way you handled the situation was definitely to the most extreme! Lastly, if you actually read the reviews you would see that the way management treats its tenants is a repeated issue. Don't move in here if you respect yourself. The management ladies are not professional and NOT accommodating. For the last 2 years they learned how to make money right off the air, besides your monthly rent. Apartments itself not worth the rent they charge, walls have sounds inside from piping, sometimes feels like something will explode inside, may go on all night long. Floors are squeaky everywhere. Dogs poop is everywhere on the grass barely people pick it up! Pot smokers also everywhere in each building have more then a few! Just find a better place! read more

I lived here for 4 years and the staff/management was always slow to respond to problems and then attempt to make us pay. When we left they charged us for 2 hours of maintenance labor even though most of the labor fell under their responsibility as the property owner (at $60 an hour that is expensive labor when none of it required a professional). They also charged us for light bulbs even though we had replaced every bulb with a new bulb before leaving and informed them that a couple of the light fixtures would fluctuate on and off depending on if people were walking in the apartment above (really great wiring!). They had a habit of giving short notice for things like needing to move your car and at least once gave no notice at all and threatened to have the car towed to an impound lot at our expense. All in all, a bad experience and I would not recommend renting here unless you cannot find another place in Missoula. If you do rent here, document everything with video and written sources. read more

Crestview apartments has possibly the worst property management company in Missoula. I was improperly fined $500 in one month for my new puppy ( 7 weeks old) for being off leash without warning. A neighbor on a fixed income was fined $100 for her CAT being off leash. I broke the lease to move and it cost me $1700. The office illegally charged me $35 an hour to do paperwork. I have never in my life worked with such an unprofessional company. I would be moving to Missoula at the end of August for school so I tried to get a lease with them. This office only deals over text because they want everything in writing, that should have been my first red flag, there is no personal connection or flexibility, it is just about business and money. They were very last minute with my lease date, not telling me until 7/20 that my lease would be starting 7/28. They did not send me my lease to sign until 7/27 and then I realized that the end date wasn't correct. I explained to them I was going to move out 3/31 not 4/30. They then told me this couldn't be changed because too many people were moving out in March, I asked if they had flexibility if someone decided to extend their lease and they told me all they could do was month to month (so they could raise my rent or evict me with only 30 day's notice). This goes back on what they originally said about too many people moving out in March (because month to month I would still be moving out in March). I asked if they could give me some time to think about it and see if I could find another option because otherwise, I would have to pay 1000 in Missoula and 1000 in Bozeman for the month of April. Now I asked multiple times if I could talk to someone and explain the situation over the phone and see if I could find some compromise, and they refused because their policy does not work that way. They then decide that I am being too difficult and cancel my lease ON THE DAY IT IS SUPPOSED TO START. Can you imagine if I was all packed up and ready to move and they did that, I'd be homeless! (Luckily I wasn't planning on moving until 8/5) I begged them over text not to because I needed a place to live for school and I had just asked if I could have some time to look at other options, and they felt that because I said in one text that they were being unreasonable and inflexible that I no longer wanted to live there, so they told me month to month was the only option. Honestly this whole situation felt like a scam for more money because no doubt they are going to try to rent the apartment I was supposed to rent for 925 to someone else for 1200. They were completely unsympathetic to the fact I couldn't afford to pay for two different apartments for the month of April. I even offered to use my savings and pay all 8 months for my lease up front and they refused which makes me think even more that they wanted me to be month to month so they could continue to raise my rent. This place is a total scam and now I know better than to rent from anyone who won't talk to me over the phone because they decided to cancel my lease solely because they thought I had too much attitude in my texts. Now I know they are probably going to respond and say I disrespected their policies by A) asking to talk to a human and not the insensitive texter I was forced to deal with. And B) I asked them for a shorter move in range because originally they told me I would have to move in between 7/4 and 8/4 (A WHOLE MONTH) whenever the unit became available, now on their website the unit didn't say it was going to be available until 8/5 and then they came back and told me that if it was ready 7/4 id have to pay for July. Them being flexible with me was them saying well I guess the move in could be between 7/20 and 8/5 so giving me a 2 week range instead of a month. Gee thanks! This place is the worst place to ever rent from. I lived at his location for 1 year and it was absolutely terrible. The only nice thing about it was being on the top floor with vaulted ceilings. I had a neighbor below me where I could hear his TV every time I was in the bathroom. He ended up filing noise complaints on me for nothing and with no follow up from the leasing office they fined me $100. Speaking of the management and women in the leasing office they are absolutely terrible and some of the worst people in Missoula. They give zero shits about you and all they want is your money. It has now been 2.5 months since I moved out and I have yet to get my rent deposit check from them because they're so incompetent. Please rent anywhere else. You'll enjoy it a lot more. read more

We currently live here, the front desk women have always been very helpful and pleasant to me. At one point there was a mix up with our rent and they were very understanding and worked with me to figure it out. The grounds are well maintained and I love the dog poo bag stations. There are a lot of rules it seems but I have 0 problem following them as they are pretty common sense. My only complaint is that the hot tub and pool are constantly closed with no explanation. I would like to see them do a bit better job at keeping them up and running and having notices posted when they aren't explaining why and for how long they will be down. I would definitely recommend them especially for a pet friendly Rental! read more

Signing this lease was the biggest mistake I have ever made in my 32 years of life . The rent is outrageously overpriced. Pet deposit is ridiculous. But the BIGGEST issue I have had here is the hot tub. The only reason I chose Crestview apartments is because of their outdoor hotub. Let me just start by saying; the hotub is never open . Ever. The hours are clearly stated from 10am-10pm. It is often closed far before 10pm. Like the rest of America, I like to relax after a hard day of work . My go to is the hotub. Unfortunately, I don't get much relaxation between stepping in dog feces and the hotub never being open . read more

These are great apartments. They are kept up very nicely. Someone is always working on the landscaping in the summer and plowing in the winter. The office staff is very helpful and nice. I'll be staying for quite a while! read more

Biggest mistake I've made is renting from these apartments. Getting the apartment was less than pleasant as they will never show you anything but the 2 bedroom they have on display. You will not know what you are getting until you sign a lease. ((scary)) Against my better judgement and in a pinch I did it anyway. While living here the hot water went out for 2 weeks (in the dead of winter) and the office staff wouldn't believe the tenants that were calling to report the issue. Was brushed off until multiple tenants called persistently. This lasted for about 10 days. Took about 4 days to figure out the problem and it was finally fixed after 14 days. During the fix a huge hole was dug up and I was graced with its view for the rest of my tendency. Lots of dog poop as the neighbors were not diligent to pickup after their pups and many wouldn't even walk down from the 3rd story with their dog which led to many dog scuffles and fights with the dogs that were leashed properly. Parking for guests or for an additional car was a nightmare. Lots of parties on Friday and Saturday nights, thus super limited parking. Didn't like hiking halfway across the complex on the weekends with 2 young children at night in the snow. Beware: the office staff is incompetent and good luck reaching them via telephone ever. Also don't expect them to call you back if you leave a message. Upon move out they will find every excuse to take as much of your deposit as they can. After the fact I was told by many locals to steer clear of this property as it and its staff has a horrid reputation. read more

It has been the worst apartment i've ever lived in.and the worst rude staff I had to deal with especially one person I believe she is the supervisor or the manager. First the promised us one apartment and in the last half hour before we get the key from them the called us and told us that we can't have that apartment today I said WOW you waited to the last half in called us so what now. They said you have to wait couple days for another apartment.Well Couple days later They give us different apartment and it was not clean all the way and some things damage so I take pictures of everything and documents everything on they sheet they give us. Well we moved in week later we notice Ants in the Apartment and I moved in in the winter. The funny thing that they tried to blame us for the ants . After so much back in fourth They allow someone to come in to check things out and they said they will charge me for his service, but after the pest control person so what he so he told them that the problem coming from all the the cracks under the ground. the Summer came and it was so hot and we had 1 year old baby so our neighbors told us that the received Air Condoning from them , but when we went and asked them for one they said we do not have anything like that so they lie to our face just like that and they said again fill out a complain. Well I just left and went a head and bought one to take car of our baby because it was so hot. Finally we moved out and we clean and cleaned and I went head and bought 1 new window curtains they last day we moved out and replaced it with the new one. Well they did their walk through and they said needs cleaning and dusting so I said look at the paperwork that we fill out when we moved in because most everything it was dirty and damage. couple days later they send us a check and the hold almost $ 500 of our money saying the they needed to fix few thing and they had to change the windows curtains. Well, that made me so mad because we bought new curtain the day we moved out so I know they are lying to us and they things they had to fix they said is the same things that it was damage from the 1 day. They want us to complain by email. My wife email them all the copies and pictures and the receipt of the new curtain. What I think that they like using people deposits to fix thier apartments. Well not even Hour later after my wife email them we received email back denying any of that and they will not give us any money back. read more
