If I ever go into town for the best comics ever the only one place I really like to go to is criminal records comic book store.

I remember Criminal Records back when it was on Euclid - this place is a true treasure...love it and support it!

Lenwood Crumb here and I must say, and I don't just give out compliments, Criminal Records, the vinyl record store, is fantastic. They have a large selection of new and used vinyl records as well as compact discs and paper books! PAPER BOOKS! This isn't your grandson's type of digital store, folks. This is the real deal. This is where I bought my ex wife's favorite vinyl records which I don't have the heart to get rid of but the knowledge of their existence in my basement eats at me. I know I should throw them out, they're useless. The basement flooded weeks ago but I just can't bring myself to go down there and take care of the mess. They have all the hits! They have Pat Boone, Herman's Hermit, Minnie Ripperton, Bobby Goldsboro, you name it and they might have it in stock! Check this place out. Keep up the great work! read more

Every big city has gotta have it's independent record store. Criminal Records is it for the ATL. A huge selection of all the latest indie rock, alternative and obscure music. They've also got a big selection of used music and dance. They still have vinyl, but not as much as purists might like (who does these days anyway?). They also have comic books and geek collector's toys, but I don't get into that crap. If you do, you'll be pleased. Lately they've been clearing out a lot of old backstock so you'll find stuff like old Galaxie 500, Pixies, Nirvana, etc on sale at a good price. They used to publish the WRAS rotation lists and top 10 sales, but apparently it got too cumbersome for them. Too bad, because it was a really great tool to use to scout out for new music. read more

Well I haven't been back to this place in awhile. Sometimes my girlfriend drags me to the fucking vortex to meet up with her fucking college friends. that shit is expensive. The last time I was in there they had some battles eps in the used bin. It was $3.50 for a fucking ep but you know those eps kinda rule and I haven't been able to find them in Marietta. I tried to talk to this long haired dude about them but he hadn't fucking heard them. they had some don cab records but I already got that shit. but you know fucking props to them for having them. most people don't carry that shit. My girlfriend wanted to go look at overpriced vintage clothes so I didn't have enough time to dig through the 7inches for that one sweep the leg johnny split 7inch I don't have. Overall they were alright. they were playing some pussy ass shit on the stereo. read more

Criminal just moved to a space on Euclid. I love, love, love me some Criminal Records. I always find something new and the staff is super friendly and very helpful. They have listening stations set up all over the store with some pretty eclectic stuff. The selection of used CDs is pretty good. They also stock music from local bands. I went this weekend for an in-store performance with Eagles of Death Metal and it was great. The new space is larger than the previous location and it makes for a great in-store performance experience. They sell comic books and cool, hard to find magazines. They also support the community so I love supporting them. read more

Hell to the YES for independent record stores - so few of them still around. These guys make a solid effort to cater to the music community (today it was Mutemath performing in-store, fanTAStic set!). Customer service here is always off the chain, mega helpful staff, very knowledgeable. Great selection of CDs and LPs. As if the performance itself wasn't enough, they topped off today's festivities with a raffle (tickets with every Mutemath purchase) for passes to the Mutemath show at Tabernacle later in the evening. Free posters with every purchase too - these guys just do it up right - so, so glad they're still around. No matter how much ranging around I do online, I always find cool music here that I didn't know about before, and damn the prices, I'll continue to spend more here to help keep them (and independents like them) in business. read more

I got Billy Joel The Stranger, Jesus Christ Superstar, and an Art Garfunkel album from their $1 record section. I liked the cashier's affectionate reaction to the cover of the Garfunkel record, a huge head displaying the big blond fro: "Oh, Art." read more

This used to be one of the best record stores around, but the digital age has taken it's tool. You used to be able to come in and they had a large board the listed all of the new releases and the staff was really knowledgeable about various bands and labels. They used to be one of the only people that sold stuff from Parasol records in the southeast; or you can just fill in the blank - they carried a lot of great obscure and indi labels. read more

Every time I come here I find something that I can't live without. They have an incredible selection of comic books and graphic novels (all of Neil Gaiman's Sandman!). They also carry a ton of vinyl. Criminal also carries used items, for example last time I went in they had John Coltrane's CD box set used for only $22. What a steal! The employees are always helpful and have great recommendations, you can tell they really enjoy working at Criminal. I try to come here first for any media I'm planning on buying because it's a small independent business and I'd rather spend my $$ here than at a chain. Who doesn't love Criminal Records? You certainly don't have to pay a lot to support an independent music store instead of Best Buy or another chain, and Criminal proves it. They have an amazing selection of both new and used CDs, vinyl, magazines, and comics and graphic novels...not to mention all the toys and other random wonderful retail products. This unique shop is really one in a million. The sales staff is very helpful and knowledgable, also. If you have a question on Peter Bagge, or Dan Clowes, or whoever, they can probably help you. read more

This place is a staple in the neighborhood and I've been a fan for a couple of years. With my new samsung record player, I've been coming here to purchase most of my records. The staff is professional, courteous, welcoming, etc. Even though the neighborhood can be sketch at times, I feel pretty safe in the store and walking around by myself. Good ambiance, pretty good diverse selection of music and as I said, nice staff. Non snotty. Prices are decent as well - I would say even comparable to Amazon! SO definitely worth checking out if you're a pseudo hipster fetishizing "vintage" (but truly, audiophiles.... records just SOUND better) or one who simply likes records. Especially with its competitor on Mclendon closed down, this is really THE record store. read more

gotta love criminal! considering the amazing amount of stuff crammed in this small space, it makes for an awesome shopping experience. i don't think i've ever found a used cd i was actually looking for, but i can usually find something good. the staff is usually helpful and their magazine selection is tops! read more

My teenage son is into vinyl. He saved his cash and I took him to Criminal Records to make his first purchase. We bought a new, shrink-wrapped in vinyl album, and brought it home. When we opened it, one side had a sizeable mar that impacted 2 tracks pretty significantly. We took the album (and our receipt) back to Criminal. The young woman at the front was very helpful: "So sorry. But we can get that cleaned up for you." She handed the album to a male coworker who took a different approach: "We would never sell a record in that condition, so you must have done some thing to it. Can't help you." Wow. So. you sell me a vinyl wrapped product that I cannot inspect before purchase and, when there's a problem, automatically conclude that the customer is at fault? I'll never shop at Criminal Records again. read more

I visit this place probably around once every two months. It always has a great selection of pretty much every genre I could think of. I became obsessed with the band Can recently and the store happened to have their stuff on vinyl there brand new, and a lot cheaper than online prices. I even found one I couldn't find anywhere in the USA! The front of the store has a section for local artists to support. They also have a big selection on CDs, comics, and tapes. The store also sells new turntables, speakers and other audio equipment, and other miscellaneous items to keep you coming. I read a news article on the shop and how the owner helped start Record Store Day as well as his undying committment to L5P and music. The owner is really a great guy and the employees are always fun to talk to. If you're around L5P, go visit this place and see what a real record shop looks like. read more

My favorite place to get comics! They're not this biggest place for comics but they have a pretty expansive selection and always have amazing sales and deals. Plus there's always someone there to answer questions or give recommendations about whatever reason you're in for. LOVE this place, I can spend hours in there! read more

Criminal Records is a pretty cool shop with more than just music. In little five points, its not my favorite place to find parking, which is on the street or in pay lots. Actually its not that bad except on the weekends. Its pretty big, you're not constantly bumping into dusty shelves. I like that they do have cd's, although they are somewhat outdated now. I guess one day cd's will be 'vintage' and 'cool' the way records are now. But it can be fun to thumb through albums of all different genres. What's I really like about Criminal records is their other merchandise and that they support local music. I think they have some cool shirts here, particularly R. Land and some of his art. (This is the pray for Atlanta sign). Also there are a bunch of other little things to entertain yourself with. Comics, toys, nicknacks. Also, they have different bands come and play on a night, maybe they are putting out an album or something. I haven't been, but that's pretty cool. Also, they almost closed and the community loved them so much they did a benefit to save them. I think that shows how much this place means to the city. I've never really asked help to find anything so I don't know how helpful they are. Cashier is pretty nice. Overall cool place, definitely worth a visit every once in a while. read more

I could literally spend hours upon hours in this store, and I always make a point to stop by any time I'm in Little 5. Not only do they have an incredible selection of new and old vinyl, they offer CDs, movies, comic, magazines, books and even action figures and t-shirts! The staff is incredibly knowledgeable as well, so if you are ever looking for something or have a question, they will certainly set you straight. Best of all, the prices aren't outrageous like some record stores - everything is totally reasonable, if not downright cheap. read more

I've been going for years and can always walk out with cool records that I've never seen before. A person can spend hours in there!

If you want vinyl that's been pressed in the last three years this is your spot. Almost nothing in the used section when I went. But if you want new LPs or represses they have a great selection. Decent number of trade paperbacks and hardcovers in the comic section as well. They had long boxes of monthlies, but that's not my thing anymore so I didn't look. They definitely have a cool aesthetic. Toys, comics, records. Fun place to shop. read more

Great record store. The staff is really friendly and helpful and they have a great collection of old records. They even have a "dollar" section which is totally worth checking out. I was just there for the Lacuna Coil in store performance and it was a great time. The sound system is really good and it was a blast watching a live performance. I really don't get in here as much as I would like to, but they're really the greatest. Great selection, good prices, and their in-store events can't be beat. Probably my favorite part of the store isn't even in the store itself but rather in their social media presence. They are constantly posting news relating to the store, music, local Atlanta stuff, and other things of interest. This place is ok. I've been to better record stores that have more to offer. I sort of felt like there wasn't much of a mix group of people there. seemed like there was self centered indie people and would jugde me for my taste of music, I may be wrong but I can careless. I found what I wanted there that's all. Better than going to some major retail store not finding what you want new or old. I could spend a whole day going through old records. =) read more

How can this place be closing? It can't! I heard CR was closing and I flew over from Portland immediately to buy as much as I could. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wish I lived in the neighborhood so I could come more and see the bands that perform. They had a lot of records and a lot of other fun stuff that I liked looking at.
