I literally cannot say how happy I am that we hired Yay Paella to cater our wedding. Stan and his crew were so easy to work with, even when our wedding date changed unexpectedly. I attended an event catered by Y!PC and it was nothing short of delightful. I am seriously impressed with the hostess who found this incredible business. YPC arrives, sets up, prepares incredible meal, professionally serves it up and then they're on their way in a super operative fashion. These guys are smooth. We hired Yay! Paella catering for our wedding last weekend and they were amazing! First of all, they were very easy to work with in the months leading up to the wedding and were very responsive via email. On the day of the wedding they brought everything they needed, including their own tables and linens for serving the food buffet style as we requested and they provided compostable plates, silverware and napkins complimentary. We happened upon Yay!Paella at a wedding fair, fell in love with their food and presentation... and then never got their contact information! We were so bummed, and it felt like one of those "lost connections" you sometimes see on classified ads. But alas, several months later we happened to go to a food truck gathering and found Yay!Paella again, and knew this was what we wanted to cater our wedding day. Now onto the actual review... Amazing food, from the appetizers to the paellas and salads, to the desserts. You can mix and match any of their menu paellas, or sub/add in your own ingredients, or completely create your own. -The assorted cheese platter was beautiful and had the perfect mix of things to appeal to anybody. -The chorizo sausage crostinis were perfect little tapas to grab. Crispy, small, yet robust in flavor. That little dollop of sauce they put on is magic! -We went with the Paella Campesina (with sausage, chicken, and pork) and Paella Verduras (with garbanzo beans and tofu). Both were to die for! The greatest though are the staff. SO sweet. SO friendly. Very accommodating, and checking in frequently (but not too frequently) with us. When we got to our hotel, we couldn't resist and had to eat more from the leftovers they packed for us! We will remember and recommend Yay!Paella forever. Phenomenal experience. We hired Yay!Paella for our wedding and our guests raved about the food--one person admitted to 4ths. Wedding food often means rubbery chicken and shrimp and guests waiting, waiting and waiting in line to get their food. The meats were tender and juicy, the salad was refreshing, delicious and servings were hearty. The line for service was hardly a line as YayPaella were so fast and efficient. Last summer, I hired Yay!Paella on two separate occasions - they were so spectacular for the first event (my 40th birthday party), that I hired them again a few weeks later to cook for our family reunion. Each event had about 25 people and they did a great job. We had loads of questions and special circumstances (difficult drive-way, changing guest number, food allergies, etc.), and even hired them very last minute for one of the events. Sere (the office manager), is very patient, and provided us with all of the answers, and accommodated our every request. She is quick and responsive and extraordinarily organized. Everything was flawless in regards to the ordering, the menu, and the billing. I ordered their salad, a few of their tapas and the paella; the grilled garlic shrimp are a MUST. Everyone loved the paella. We even had a few people from Spain in attendance, and they said it was better than most paella they eat in their own country! I am allergic to bell peppers, and Chef Stan was kind enough to cook the paella without it, and then add as a topping to part of the dish, so others could still enjoy it. Chef Stan is fabulous...he brought little signs to set up on the buffet, describing the event and the menu. He is friendly and always smiling, and remains calm. We were lucky enough to have his brother cooking with him for one event, and he too is delightful and organized. Even though one of the days was 103* and Stan spent most of it cooking for me in the sun, it didn't affect his attitude or the delicious meal. He is a true professional and a trooper - he was quick to set up, clean up, and all was done in a tidy and safe manner. We had some concerns about oil spills ruining the deck, or fire on the property as the home is in the woods, but he was immaculate. Before the guests arrived, Chef Stan even changed into a new clean apron and shirt. There was enough food for everyone to get seconds, and even enough to freeze some for leftovers. The paella is bright and flavorful, and packed with proteins, and was not overly spicy or oily. It was perfect and my guests are still raving about it. Having the meal catered in such a fun way really makes the event special. As the paella cooks, it smells great, people love taking pics around the large pan, and enjoy watching it being cooked. Stan and Sere, from Yay!Paella, are real professionals. We could not have been more impressed. I did lots of research on the other local paella cooks, and am thrilled and relieved that I ended up choosing Yay!Paella. The taste, ohh the taste! I have tried many paellas in my life, and Stan's and Sere's is up there with the best of the best. We hired their services for our wedding knowing that we had some paella connoisseurs among our guests. Well, all we heard after lunch was over was how delicious both seafood and meat paellas were. Also people kept saying how Stan and his assistant were extremely professional and a joy to talk to. I cannot thank them enough for not only making my wedding a delicious experience with their paella, but also making it a worry free and joyful experience.
