My hotel was right across the street from the beach. It took just a couple minutes to walk from the Seawall to the actual ocean. When I say that we were the only ones there, I absolutely mean it. I think it was the best experience I've ever had coming to Galveston. No loud music, no loud families just calm and quiet. The only people that were around were fishing on the jetty. I was able to catch some rays, play in the sand, dip in the water, and walk the beach without a living soul to bother me. Ha! I am not sure what it's like in the summer, but if you have a chance to go to this end of the beach during the off-season, it is absolutely heaven!! Heads up - no restrooms....at least during the off season. Not sure about the rest.

There are garbage cans, but overflowing and the curious birds have clearly gone dumpster diving. Broken travel gazebos are at nearly all cans - we counted 20!! I would think a pretty community like this would have garbage service more often. The beach is narrow, but goes for miles! Whats cool is it's dog/family friendly. The surf was a little rough but the wind had picked up. Still could play/swim in water.It's a decent beach for shell hunting, hanging out, having a BBQ with friends and people watching. . It was very diverse yet had a community feel to it. People were very friendly, most everyone waved when we drove by! I forgot to Mention you CAN drive and park on this beach! A permit is required and can be purchased at a local store. We stopped, walked the beach, struck up A conversation with some awesome Texans who were dog lovers. Someone had created some dunes to ride on and There were a few people with ATV's having a blast! This beach gets 5 stars for people watching and friendliness. Also almost everyone had some sort of flag on their vehicle - whether ATV/ROV or a car ( which I find it really weird someone takes their BMW to the beach, but hey whatever). It was much nicer than west end Galveston beach and not insanely packed like east end Galveston. TIP: there are two routes to access beach. 1. The Galveston Ferry - which can take up to 2 hours waiting in lines - but only a 15 min ride to peninsula 2. You can drive around to access on east end - after waiting 2 solid hours to access ferry - we realized we could have gone the 'long way' and been there quicker, plus had sites to see en-route.

We've been going to this beach, multiple times a year, for the last 10+ years. On our recent visit July 2026, my entire crew were stung by jellyfish! We even saw a few in the water, less than 10 ft from the shore line, after we were stung. I've never seen them here before. Words to the wise...pack vinegar in your beach bag. Flush with seawater, not fresh water.

The balconies are gorgeous--the higher floor this time has a better view above the palm trees. Both times we've been here have been in January, so we haven't been able to use the outdoor pools or the lazy river. The indoor pool is large! There's a great game room, a movie theater, and a gym on the property. Everything is access-controlled, so you feel safe. Getting to the beach is about a 5-minute walk. This is a beautiful place! We booked through Ryson Vacation Rentals both times. Great communication, easy check-in and check-out process.

Well equipped. Lovely. Pretty. Good location. Beautiful. It was a terrific unit at the end with an awesome balcony and great views. We booked through Sand n Sea. Great company. We booked with Jolene. She was terrific. We loved working with her. She was fantastic. Will book with her again AND will recommend her to friends and family! Very nice and professional! A very good company! Overall, we had a wonderful family getaway and will be back for sure!!

There's a very nicely designed play scape for the kids as well as some swings off to the side. This public park is ringed by a 4 foot perimeter fence with plenty of green space inside to run around in. The sand is a little rocky and rigid. A seashell broke off in my foot which hurt. They have food that is delivered to you with a $10 min. We will just be getting drinks from now on. The food was not good and below concession stand type. But they have bag chips and lots of drinks! Which our son liked. Plenty of parking, but once again it's not officially summer yet. We will go back!

This place is in the middle of nowhere. I had no idea where the GPS was taking us. Not a fan…read more Just attended a softball tournament at Pearson Park. The complex is HUGE. There are 8 fields here, 6 appeared to be "normal-sized" and 2 are small "little league-sized." The fields themselves were decent. All seemed to be groomed well. Loved that there were bleachers for fans on each side of the field. (Not a fan of mixing team's fans). Not much shade here so bring a tent and your sunscreen. There was a concession stand towards the one end and the a decent playground and basketball court. The parking lot actually wasn't terrible, especially for having 33 teams at the tournament. The biggest negative was that there is ONE bathroom in the middle of the complex. It was a HIKE to get there from some of the farther fields, especially when you have a 6U player who needs to go in the middle of a game. Along with the location, there was always a LINE. (I did overhear that another restroom facility for players only was going to be made at some point in the future.
