Very few parks in Galveston, if any, can match this one in terms of multi-functionality. It contains a playground, baseball field, basketball court, cement trail, shaded benches, and two fenced areas for dogs (one open field and one impressively designed obstacle course). I occasionally take a walk here during the colder months when the unshaded weather allows it. Seeing all the dogs cheer me up! Parking is typically easy. Marine St has a dedicated lot for this park, and Albacore Dr has unrestricted street parking. Alternatively, N Holiday Dr has 2 hour parking from 9am-6pm. read more

I visited twice and was mostly dirt with what little grass there was unmowed. There was dog feces everywhere. Although it is much closer to where I live, I drive to the West End Dog Recreation area that seems to be better maintained. read more

Always a great place to take a stroll or take your dogs out for a fun time! There's also a playground for kids, and a nice pathway to walk/run. There is free 2-hour street parking from 9-6pm, and there is also free unrestricted parking on Albacore Dr! read more

Great park for dogs! Two decent sized areas for small and big dogs with multille gates and is veey secure. There's also a playground for kids and walking trails. Parking is free on each side of the park too. read more

This is an awesome dog park! It was founded by two lovely ladies, Terri and Sally. They saw a need for a dog park after bringing their dogs and using the baseball field for awhile, but then were locked out. They approached the city council in 2009 and it was quickly approved and installed. There are 3 openings each with a double gate system, water hose that can fill up a water bowl and a small baby pool, supply of tennis balls, poop bags and trash cans. There are multiple covered benches for dog owners to sit and watch their pups play. The city maintains the park. There is a big dog area and a small dog area and an agility course that was installed by a young man working on his Eagle Scout project. There is lots of grass, but also dirt that can get muddy but it's like a sandy dirt so it's not too messy after a rain. Just about everything you could ask for in a park! There's a big-dog and small-dog park for your fur babies and a big-kid and small-kid playground for your human babies. Shady trees surround the parks, under which you can find benches for sitting and others for eating. They recently put in some swings, including a baby swing and a handicap swing that toddlers like. In the same block, there is a basketball court, a baseball field, and a couple of newly-surfaced tennis courts. All it needs now is a Splash Pad and it would be the place to find all the moms and dads on any given Galveston day. Watch out for ant piles and don't forget the bug spray! read more

Beautiful park, lots of shade for the kid's playground, nice walking track and awesome space for dogs. The only issue is, that during the summer, it gets ambushed by mosquitos, because of all the tall grass and puddles. So bring lots of bug spray! read more

Really enjoy this dog park. Lots of owners bring their dogs here, from tiny breeds to great danes. After just a few visits, you really get to know all the people and their dogs. It's a fairly large field with several picnic benches to rest on. There's a basket near the tennis court with TONS of toys for dogs to play with, mostly tennis balls and frisbees. There's doggie bags available, and 4 or 5 water bowls of all sizes next to a water hose. Half of the area is grass and the other is dirt/sandy. After rainy days the dirt side can get pretty muddy. There is also a small dog park next to the big dog park but I don't see it used a lot as the small dogs generally are fine around the big dogs. There are 3 entrances: one by the tennis court parking lot, one by the playground, and one by the outdoor basketball hoop. Definitely a fun place to let your dog run around and socialize! read more

We just moved down the street from this dog park and are becoming frequent visitors. As far as I know this is the only real fenced in dog park in Galveston. It's fairly bare bones with a few large trees, some benches and water stations but really what more do dogs need than a huge field and some friends to play with! It's not as busy as some of the other dog parks I've been to but that can be a good thing depending on how social your dog is feeling. read more

Decent park. Only giving a three star just because of my own hang ups on dog parks. My dog and others got along fine. Lots of shaded areas and a good watering station. Other dog owners informed me a man brings his aggressive dog and encourages him to dominate the other dogs. Good for others just would rather socialize my dog in a more controlled environment. read more

Good sized dog park that is fenced in, smaller dog park available too. There is also a baseball field directly next to the dog park that is open as well if there isn't a game going on. A tennis court is directly next to the park. I bring my pup almost everyday. The dogs are friendly and my dog gets along with everyone. :) There is water available for dogs and trash bags. read more

This review is for the dog park inside Lindale Park. Tiny! It's almost an afterthought that planners decided to squeeze a dog park into the greenbelt between the athletic fields. At least there's a cluster of mature trees for shade and about 4-5 benches for seating. The groundskeeper could tend to the grass a little better since most of the dog park was bare dirt (and a potential mudpit during rainy season). Three entrances, one of which consists of a very narrow pass between a court and a fenced field, provides entry and exit to the off-leash dog park. The consolation is that it's the only off-leash pup park on the island. Plenty of opportunities for improvement! read more

This is the only public playground and dog park we have found on the island. I was pleasantly surprised. The playground area was clean. There was a swing set with swings for older children as well as toddlers. There were two playground sets with slides, monkey bars, stairs to climb etc. One set was for smaller children and the other for older children. There were covered picnic tables near the entrance. The trees in the park were beautiful. The dog park was separated in two sections beyond the playground. One was for larger dogs and the other for smaller dogs. The section for larger dogs gave them room to run and had benches under shade trees. There were tennis courts in good condition. The park was in a decent area and neighborhood. My only complaint was the amount of mosquitos. read more

Having a small dog, this is a really good sized park! Not as much grass as I would like but the dirt isn't terrible. A decent amount of dogs out there playing throughout the day which is great. I love that it isn't overcrowded. read more

Great location in quiet neighborhood located near UTMB. Grass maintained well and shaded area for pup owners to sit and watch them play. Water bowls, puppy toys and well stocked waste bags provided. Fresh running water available for drinking and rinsing your pup off. I'd highly recommend this park for all dog owners. Most owners are frequent visitors. My Sophie loves going to the puppy park to see her friends :) read more

Lovely fenced in park. With plenty of room for the dogs to run and play. Park was very clean in a quiet neighborhood.
