New to town. Always lived near the coast so between that and some of the reviews I wasn't expecting much. I was wrong, it was really good and friendly service. We had fried alligator (wonderful),fried shrimp (delicious) , Boudan balls( outstanding), the only thing I had that was just ok were the fried oysters. Now the food isn't spicy enough for some but that's an easy fix with their homemade seasonings mix you only have to ask for. And the homemade cocktail sauce was the best I've ever had. We looked at the menu and decided we would just order shrimp dinners for us .. The kids menu was burgers some other things that our granddaughter doesn't eat .. I did see they had shrimp fried rice and she loves veggie fried rice .So the lady brings our drinks and starts to take our order..My husband and I both order shrimp dinners and I ask the lady on the fried rice could we get the small fried rice with the veggies and no shrimp for our granddaughter . She said ,"No it's a big plate just get her french fries " I thought I misunderstood her because she was a very fast talker .I asked my husband what she said because I knew I couldn't have heard right..He said ,"She said just get her french fries" So I did hear right ..Unbelievable!!!!!! Just give her french fries !!! WTH We paid her for the tea and left... I understand if they have big plates of rice . We were driving through the area and wanted to give a local restaurant a try. The waitress was great. And the food was ok. But after a couple of the patrons complained about two wasps flying around the dining room, we were shocked that they did nothing about it. And later the manager/owner arrived and she started swatting at flies with a fly swatter. How do you order food and not get want you want and then return it and they tell you what you ordered which is not what you told them. They will not exchange or give your money back. This place is a gem in this little town. My friend knows his places to eat in Crockett and took me here when I told him I wanted some good home cooking. I decided to try the hamburger since this is my first time coming here. Can't go wrong with a hamburger since it seems like everyone else is ordering it including my buddy. God, it was excellent. It was with real beef and no soy. It was a good size patty with some fresh lettuce, onions, tomatoes. It came with a tremendous amount of large cut fries. For $4.59 it was a value meal. Completely satisfied with the hambuger combo I begged my friend to come back to try their po-boys. Oyster po-boy was on my mind. I was in heaven..... They put 6 large oysters in the po-boy that I had to take some out to finish later because it was falling out of the buns. The oysters were fresh and tasty. They used some nice batter for the oysters. Again, like the other combos, this combo came with a tremendous amount of large cut fries. mmm....I was in heaven! Life in the country doesn't get better than this. This place is owned by Cambodian / Chinese family. There was some good options on the menu for some Chinese food. This place is in an old building before it was a restaurant. It looks nothing fancy on the outside and inside. The men's room was in a odd little corner. This is a very nice little surprise in Crockett. Tasty seafood that's prepared with a ton of flavor. The steaks are thin, but very flavorful. The grilled veggies are especially tasty. My wife's favorite are the fried pickles. Beyond the nice food, the owners are super nice. We enjoyed the fun banter and nice smiles. Thoroughly disappointed. Ordered a Ribeye and Jumbo Shrimp plate 22.00 and cheese cake. The side salad was just lettuce and honey mustard dressing. No onion, carrots, tomatoes, or croutons. The steak look good, it was on top of vegetables (which I enjoyed), it had alot of chewy fat, no flavor what so ever, they put some green seasoning on top of it (maybe for looks) IDK Either way it could have been salted and peppered and it would have been much better. A-1 steak sauce didnt help. The shrimp was ok, there again no seasoning, just butterflied shrimp cooked in butter. The baked potato was nice with tons of butter, cheese, chives, and sour cream tasted a bit off. It was ok! Needless to say im finished trying to find a decent restaurant or hotel in Crockett Tx. I will be focusing on surrounding areas while working/playing in or around this area. My co worker is trying Groverton, Tx so we'll see how this goes. Have eaten here several time and the fried shrimp and fish are excellent. Service is friendly and they go the extra effort to ensure the patron is happy. They even go as far as to put avocado on my Aunts salad because she dines here weekly. She knows the staff now. We love this spot. Shabby cafe charging top dollar for poor quality food. Ordered two steaks, one ribeye the other t bone to be cooked medium and one side salad. The salad was a dish of wet iceberg lettuce smothered in dressing and a slice of tomato. Nothing else! There was water in the bottom of the dish. The steaks were served on a bed of soggy vegetables and there was blood on the plates which means the steaks were rare and not medium as requested. They were also tasteless, no seasoning just fat and blood. Quite honestly the food was disgusting. It is quite obvious from the wording on the bottom of the menu that there had been many complaints as they asked customers to notify them ASAP if they had a complaint about the food served. However, we didn't complain to the servers because quite frankly apart from taking our order they never checked on us or came to the table until they bought us the check and we just wanted to leave. We did not leave a tip of course and would NOT recommend you eat at this awful place. read more

The oysters are far from any kind of fresh. The shrimp is well over cooked. They even screwed up the baked potato.
