On our way from Houston to Tyler, we stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. Everything was fresh & tasty! Margaret was friendly, too. We had our choice if 2 main entrees, sides, bread, & dessert. The Blueberry Delight was light and creamy. My husband loved the pineapple cherry cobbler. We'll definitely stop by again. On our way home to Houston from camping at Mission Tejas State Park I found this place on YELP. With only 4 reviews and 3 photos we made a judgement call to give it a try. Gotta admit, pulling up in our RV I thought "uh oh". This little quaint restaurant attached to a livestock barn, is a diamond in the rough. The menu is very small, but you know what they say..."The small things in life is the main source of happiness." This little diner serves home style cooking and was great. I love me some sweet tea and this place has it going on. Margaret was a very nice woman who definitely has a gem of a diner. Everything from the grandson grilled cheese, to my husbands burger & my steak fingers was delicious. Thank You for the complimentary slice of cake!! read more

Only great things come out of this kitchen! You can really tell that all levels of excellence go into each entree. I just had breakfast there this morning and it was just so good! I'm still new here and transitioning from the City, and well, we all know how we love home cooking, like the goodies mom and grandma used to make, and so many of these dishes take me right back to grandma's house. Being the big time foodie that I am, so far, all the dishes have just been delicious. If there was one thing I'd change, and yes, it's only one thing, it would be the gravy that goes with the biscuits. Ms. Margaret is a true gem! Wow! My wife and evacuated from Lake Charles Louisiana for hurricane Laura and we got a late jump because we were going to ride it out. We traveled several hours to get out of its path. We begun looking for a place to park our RV safely and we ended up in the Cattleman's sales parking lot late Weds night. We were so worried that someone was going to be upset that we parked there that I woke up early Thursday morning and went inside to apologize for parking in there lot without permission. What I was meet with was the nicest 2 men in the world and they even allowed me to watch the weather channel for a few minutes with them. They Explained that they had a cafe that served breakfast and shared that it was the best breakfest in town. So I went back out to the RV and got my wife and we went to inside to eat breakfast. The cafe had the nicest people and the best breakfast that I have had in a very long time. We went to check out only to find that "Paul" had paid for our breakfast the wonderful lady said Paul was the owner of the sales building. Let me tell you that when we got back to Louisiana we had people trying to take advantage of the storm. So to Paul and everyone at the Cafe you guys sure made us feel welcomed and if you are ever in Louisiana look me up. Thanks again Paul, that was the best day. 9 out of 10 houses in my neiborhood where destroyed by the storm. but we felt so good about your kindness it was worth the drive. Don Ward read more

Attached to a sale barn, this place is a little diamond in the rough. Downhome food served by Downhome folks who understand that the best things in life take a little more time. Had a truncated menu as I was part of a larger tour bus group. Regardless, the menu was tasty, reminding this reviewer of sitting at grandma's table, and getting full on fresh vegetables, good meat, rolls that were just dense enough not to be airy and just airy enough not to be heavy, and tea that was the perfect amount of sweet.
