Since I know nothing I learned that they don't come with the holes drilled. So we walked over the the pro shop. It was quite the hopping place. For a bowling pro shop in Crofton. We got great personalized service. They were so nice to my son. They even let him watch the holes get drilled. And feed the fish. I've been meaning to write a review for a while now. I've never had anything bad to say about this shop or anyone that works here. Whether it be the owners or someone that's working at any given time. There are many and they've all been helpful, courteous and professional. Another pro shop I've been to previously was condescending and not helpful at all. I will never go back there. I switched all of my equipment over to the interchangeable thumb system and all fit perfectly. Had an issue with my Dexter's and they resolved with the manufacturer. There were times when I asked what I thought were dumb questions because I'm not the best bowler and just didn't understand the tech or layout. (Older school bowler) I am always met with the personal one-on-one time explaining it and understanding no matter how busy it is. I wish I could give more than 5 stars. The gents couldn't be nicer or more helpful. I got my ball there about 2 years ago. It's been drilled, fixed and adjusted there. They've even helped me with my game a bit. The shop is small (but how big does it need to be?). It can get busy if you get there when they open, but they have a tv running to watch while you wait your turn and the line moves quick. Wish they had longer hours, but if you can fit in when they're open, it worth the wait. read more

I just started bowling regularly about 3 to 4 months ago. Because I use a 14 pound ball, the generic bowling balls at the bowling alleys were not cutting it. They were made for hands 3 times bigger than mine.... so I decided to get my own custom ball and I am sure glad I did! I am even more happy that I went to the Crofton Classic Pro Shop to purchase it instead of trying to do it online. The owner is a true expert! He was able to drill the holes perfectly on the first try and my game has already improved as I begin to learn my ball. A plus is that he is also super funny and sarcastic which made the whole process even better! My husband and I just joined a bowling league which is a wonderful change in our routine. Of course, our own teammates have recommended to get our own stuff than using the house balls and whatnots. Crofton Classic Pro Shop came recommended and we were happy to have follow through with the recommendation! Mike is the guy you need to see as he was absolutely professional and even allowed you to come in the back and watch him customize your ball. My husband and I are now proud owners of our own ball, bag, and a pair of shoes. We can't wait to return to our league-mates and make them green with envy! I do recommend coming in as soon as the store opens. Otherwise, be prepared to wait for quite some time as the place does get busy especially on a Saturday. Mike and Norbert (owners and operators) are always available to give advice and suggest appropriate equipment. I returned to bowling at age 63 after a 40 year hiatus. As I have a deformed thumb on my bowling hand the fit was difficult and required many alterations. With their help and coaching my average jumped from 120 to 165 in a year. Along the way I also won 2 Maryland USBC tournaments. Amazingly if I wanted to buy the hottest ( and most expensive ) new ball and it was not what would work with my speed and rev rate they always provided me with a better alternative. My wife and I have recently taken up bowling as a retirement activity -- something we can do together and is fairly low risk during this COVID-19 period. We decided to buy our own bowling gear and Crofton Classic Pro Shop was recommended to us by Severna Park Lanes. When we entered the shop we were greeted by Mike who guided us in selecting bowling balls, wrist braces, shoes, bags, thumb tape, towels and ball cleaner. I found him to be very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and honest -- he did not try to push the most expensive items, but the ones that made the most sense for us given our experience. He then took careful hand and finger measurements then expertly drilled the appropriate holes while we waited -- he worked very diligently to fit the bowling balls to each of us. After we were fitted properly, he suggested that we try out the gear at the nearby bowling alley -- we were given one free game for each ball purchased. We then went to the bowling alley and started to experiment -- we wound up bowling three games each. Norbert, one of Mike's colleagues at the shop, stopped by and gave us pointers and helped me with thumb tape for better ball release. Mike showed up a few minutes later and helped both my wife and me with further pointers and thumb tape assistance. Outstanding equipment and customer service! We are very satisfied customers. This place is absolutely the best Proshop I have EVER been to! Back in the late 90s I had the pleasure of getting my first ball drilled here. The service, price point, knowledge these guys provide is truly top notch. If you're looking for a place to actually get the right equipment at reasonable prices I'd recommended this place to novice up to tour player. If you're interested in good customer service don't expect it from Crofton Classic Pro Shop!!! I had been a patron of this shop before, which made me feel comfortable returning to them as a repeat customer. My first experience was very pleasant, when I patronized the store. My second experience on 1/22/15 was bad due to the service I received or lack there of. I must admit that I was not helped by the same person that first helped me. Frankly, we was the reason for my return. Yesterday I tried to buy a balling ball and was told that I couldn't buy a ball that was displayed for sale because someone was "thinking about buying the ball". I was a customer standing in front of him wanting to buy the ball with cash and was he was waiting on a call from someone to see if they wanted the ball. I asked him was a deposit placed and was informed there was none. He simply stated that the person has been a customer for 3 years. Well, I'm a repeat customer for 2 1/2 years...
