Sam Israels helped me fix a ticket for a misdemeanor suspension when I'd never been notified I was suspended (and the ticket they claim I never paid was paid, but the check never cashed and so on and so forth, the DMV sucks, etc). Anyway I got pulled over and ticketed for driving while suspended (again, didn't know! never notified!) a mere 10 days before I was due to go in for back surgery. I needed someone else to take care of this since I wouldn't be available to go to court while convalescing, and, frankly, had no idea how to handle all that noise. I wanted to focus on getting healthy. But a misdemeanor is bigger than a regular ticket. There are possible jail times involved. HUGE HUGE fees, major points on my license and huge increases on my insurance. All kinds of drama. Sam was referred to me by an attorney friend who specializes in a different area of law. He took my case, was super communicative and helpful, and literally didn't bother me with anything while I was dealing with my back, until 10 days after my court date to call me and tell me it was all finished and my ticket was no more. SWEET! He's not the cheapest lawyer in town, but by NO means the priciest, and definitely got value for my investment. Some lawyers quoted me prices over $3K to handle the misdemeanor and talked in circles. I didn't pay Sam that much. But he isn't one of those "Pay me $150 and we get 90% of our tickets reduced" guys either (most of whom, if you read reviews, are lying about their success rate).. He didn't get it reduced. He got it ERADICATED. No points, nothing on my record, nothing to my insurance, NOTHING. I paid him, and no one else. I didn't have to go to court. I didn't have to do anything. At the end of the day, I saved money against what I could have lost, paying for a real attorney, at a real legitimate practice, and not an ambulance chaser, or one of those weird cheapie outfits. He used to work for the DA's office too, so he understands both sides, and their players, very well. And he's a nice guy. Not a douchebag. Some lawyers, even if they're on your side, just sound like douchebags, which is always aggravating. Not this guy. You in trouble? Hire him! read more

Not sure about the rest of the legal group, but I had an unfortunate encounter with Phil Israels on 03/26/14. I called his office and spoke to him on the phone, he informed me that he offered a free consultation and I could come in. Upon arrival, we exchanged simple pleasantries, he even talked about his daughter going on a trip to Europe and he had just got back after visiting her there. We even talked about the Beetles, then we discussed my case. After the consult, I was about to leave, and he suddenly stated that I owed him $500 because the free consult was only for 15 minutes and we had spoken for 45 minutes, and he gets paid $1000 per hour! But for an additional $250, I could call him for legal advice any time. I felt pressured and ended up paying $750 to him that day, and later when I called him he said he couldn't help because I should call an Education lawyer instead. Basically, I well and truly got ripped off ... shame on this lawyer for taking advantage of an innocent person. To reiterate, I cannot recommend Phil Israels to anyone. With lawyers like him, who needs enemies? Lesson learned, I keep his receipt framed on my wall as a reminder that lawyers are blood sucking leaches and aren't worth their weight in salt. read more

I hired Sam Israels to fight my son's speeding ticket. I needed someone who would go to court on my son's behalf and try to get the ticket dismissed or at least reduced to a ticket that would not result in points on my son's driving record. Mr. Israels was prompt in returning my calls and explained everything to me. He said he would not make any promises, but would do his best. The ticketing officer showed up at court and the ticket was not dismissed, however, Mr. Israels was able to get the ticket reduced to a violation that would not result in points on my son's driving record. Steve Cron was referred to me with high expectations. He was an extreme disappointment. I felt he was more concerned about collecting my money rather than helping me. He showed up late to ever court date except one, eating milk duds and flirting with every woman he knew in the court room while rubbing elbows with the DA to gain a new alliance rather than going to bat for me. My sentence quadrupled by the time we completed our year worth of court dates. It went from a wobbler to me being sentenced to a felony and 6 months in jail. I asked him to please call my mom once in custody to give her my information such as my booking number in order to get money on my books, etc and he failed to even do that one small task. Furthermore, he gave me incorrect information on when to start my community labor and more importantly when my probation start date was, so once I was released and showed up to my probation officer I was slapped with a violation for being 2 months late. The entire ordeal was very emotional, he had a tendency of being very condescending and self absorbed with his collection of money. I would have been better off going with a public defender and saving my $7,500 which I had to bleed myself to get. read more

Choosing a lawyer for the first time, is an extremely difficult process and hard decision to make. I spoke to many lawyers until a friend referred me to Steven Cron and I decided to go with him. I was facing 2 felony criminal drug charges, possible jail time and hundreds of hours of community service before I hired Mr. Cron. On top of that my career was on the line. If I would have been convicted I would've lost my professional license, been out of a job and would have had an EXTREMELY difficult time finding a job besides my degree's and extensive experience. To say that I was stressed does no justice, I was terrified and couldn't believe this was happening to me. Phil Israels and Sam Israels were both referred by a good friend who's a famous retired criminal attorney. We were very fortunate to have them defend our family member who had 2 criminal charges back then. They worked with us very well together, they are very responsive to email/phone/text, and very personable and easy to communicate. You get to talk to them directly, not via secretary or paralegal. That's so much different from other law firms we worked with before. They spent time interviewing the witnesses, and prepared and organized the case very logically.
