My name is Sharon and I called Mr. Rose Consumer Law agency on February 17, 2011 after I was served a subpoena at home from a collection agency in the amount of $14,000 on a Providian bank credit card debt. A disreputable law firm/debt collector was trying to garnish my wages last month for a judgment they filed against me in 2010 (without my knowledge I might add) and it went into default. These crooks were trying to collect 6+ years of interest from me for a credit card debt that turned out to not even be mine. I had no idea what a nightmare it would be just to prove that fact. Our justice system is something else! You're not "innocent until proven guilty" You're guilty until proven innocent. I didn't even know you could be sued and have your bank accounts levied or your wages garnished so easily without much proof. It really is almost a necessity in this ruthless and dishonest society we live in to have a good lawyer on hand; and Mr. Rose would be that attorney. I spent countless and tedious hours in gathering all of my information to prove the account in question wasn't mine. You need hard copies as evidence and that wasn't so easy to obtain, especially trying to go back six years into the past. I filed a police report for Identity Theft, I filed complaints with the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, etc. I spoke with attorney after attorney after attorney. I'm not even a fan of lawyers, I don't trust them. Lawyers have a horrible stigma of taking advantage of consumers and using their ignorance of the law against them to rip off money. In my particular situation, I was left with no other alternative. It was either hire a lawyer or fold to these scumbags and have my wages garnished. Mr. Rose was a referred to me through a family friend. He gives you his actual cell phone number so all of your communication is directly with him. For those who truly want to know how the conversation went, I will explain further. First, we should note that M.N. was never a client of this firm, and paid us no money. *I was not a paying client but your new employee did give me some legal advice. As stated on the ending of your statement, "If you have questions, we offer a free consultation". So it does not matter if I pay, you still are giving free consultations to Clients. FYI:Paul represented himself as a lawyer in the beginning. MN asked Paul "What is wage theft?" Paul responded: "Wage theft is when someone does not receive their appropriate wages". MN asked: "Can you sue before you quit your job?" *What Paul failed to mention here is that we had a longer conversation. As I had no clue what wage theft was I asked him that and more questions. During the beginning of the conversation I was lead to believe he was an attorney at law giving me information. He did seem confident and very eager to answer questions and to advise me. Another question I had was if it was possible to still take action after the person no longer works there. He said it is possible. I was thinking the employee needs to be still employed by the company but he advised me that it was possible after the fact. Then I asked if it was wise to take action while still working, Paul said it might cause some problems as they will know which employee is taking legal action. Since I didn't talk to Mr. Rose, how would I know these new information. Paul responded: "I think so, but you better speak with Mr. Rose". *He did not tell me to talk to Mr. Rose till after I had more questions that Paul seemed to be annoyed by. So I did agree to have a call back. Paul then asked for MN's name and phone number, so I could call him back. MN refused to give his name, and said: "Just have him call me back?" Paul said: "I'll need your number." MN said,"You've got it on caller ID". Then, after a few choice remarks, MN ended the call. *How do I even know he has caller ID? Anyways, I had agreed to have him call me back. Why wouldn't I? This is common sense that I allow Mr. Rose to call me back. I'm taking time out to call him and to talk to him in the first place. Since he's busy I have no choice but to wait for him to call me back. Why wouldn't I allow that? I am looking for legal help here. I DID give Paul my name & my number over the phone. Here is where Paul leaves out some information. Paul wants not only my first name, my last name, my phone number, but also my email address. I told Paul that you have my first name & a contact phone number. There is no need to go beyond that because I will discuss it with the lawyer when he calls me. If he needs more info about me then I will give it then. Paul was very agitated by me not giving more personal info. (I'm baffled by this) He then said to hold on a moment while he asks someone in the back about it. Then he comes back on the phone to say that he MUST have the extra info to log into their system, in a very angry tone. I said Mr. Rose will only need my first name and a contact number to call me back. Paul stated that I was not being "cooperative". cooperative? I asked "are you a cop??" Why do you need more information when all you need is a contact name and number for a call back. This sparked up even more anger in Paul. I then told him that being in school & learning law is great but they don't teach customer service. That is where a lawyer will become successful. So I assume this is the "choice remarks" your talking about Mr. Rose? Is this why you didn't quote me saying any of these choice remakes!? *As for the phone hang up, Paul was the one who hung up the phone on me! Paul, stop fabricating stuff up man. You took the LSAT test, your version of the event has no LOGIC in it. So...just own it. If you did something wrong & you admit to it, then just say sorry. It would have been ok.
