Driving home after splish splashing around in the cool October water of the Rockaways, collecting shells, I knew there would be more shells involved in my day. Peering over the watery horizons, the thought once again entered my mind and clams had become a very likely lunch concept. So quickly after exciting the toll bridge north bound on cross bay, i I fired up Yelp to locate a place to procure. Just on my left side sat a humble little fish market that would be visually more suitable for a seedy southern beach community. A short side to side window walk revealed an ample supply of my lunches object of affection. So, upon thrusting myself inside the seafood market I began picking out my choices. Top Necks, Little Necks, and oysters that the assistant fish monger wouldn't reveal, cordially bequeathing to not know the varietal that were upon ice and then placed upon the counter top. Fourteen dollars bought me a fair bounty of natures deep water crustations. Other fish options were thinly represented, perhaps ten total fish types, then I looked deeply into the fishes eyes, no cloudiness, just bright and vibrant telling eyes. Plus the textures and the coloring all spoke to freshness and quality which instilled within me the burning desire to return when time was more available. At $14.99 a pound, the lobster price was high, but upon peering into the tank, I could see why these kings of the culinary ocean floor commanded a kings random. They were of the highest quality and likely worth the extra cabbage. Large reach in freezers held other shelled fish treats of Alaskan King Crab legs, stuffed lobster tails and so much more.

    Mackerel, whiting, and sardines.

I always struggled to find fresh seafood in New York, yeah I know it sounds weird that we live right on the water but no good seafood. My friend took me here and I got 3 kinds of fish to try them. They were fresh, no fishy smell, firm skin and just delicious fish. I decided to lightly spice them to taste how good they were and oh man they were good. I will go back to the seashell market and I def recommend it to anyone.
