The Cross E Ranch Fall Festival has been a family favorite of ours for nearly a decade, and it just keeps getting better every year! There's something for everyone here, but our kids especially love it. Each season, the ranch adds new activities, and despite the growing crowds, it never feels too packed thanks to the wide-open space and plenty to do. Our kids make a beeline for the corn pits first thing--they could play there for hours! They're also big fans of the giant slide and obstacle course. As a dad, I have to say their burgers are top-notch--some of the best you'll find at any local event. Just don't wait until the end of the night like I did, or you'll be stuck in a long line. And whatever you do, don't skip the donuts! They come in cinnamon sugar and glazed, and while both are amazing, the glazed ones are my personal favorite. The hayride is always a relaxing highlight of the evening. If you plan to visit later in the day, make sure to dress warmly--it gets chilly fast once the sun goes down! It might even be nice if the ranch offered blankets for guests on those cold nights. One small suggestion for the staff: at the rock climbing wall, please make sure younger kids get assigned to the easier side. My 7-year-old was put on the harder one and only made it a few feet up, but she still had fun trying! Overall, Cross E Ranch continues to deliver an unforgettable fall experience. Even without kids, it was still a lot of fun. Definitely targeting children and families but still a festive night out with your partner or girlfriends. If you want to do the corn maze, be prepared for some mud! Don't wear white tennis shoes like us but we were able to hop around the mini-maze without too much mud. I was surprised to find there are no lights and it stays open after dark so maybe also bring a flashlight? Friends raved about the donuts, but they just weren't as apple-y as I was hoping. They fully enjoyed so I'm the odd one out here. There was a small $2 discount for coming in after 6:30pm. Then they also have a you pick pumpkin patch for free that I did not see. They are really weird about buying tickets, you CANNOT buy tickets from the idle employees sitting in the booth. I had to fill out a whole form and enter credit card info on my phone and then show them the barcode. This part seems especially odd and annoying. read more

We finally made it on the very last day of the season, and it was absolutely perfect! The fall festival was wrapping up, but they thoughtfully hosted a Día de los Muertos-themed day. There was a lively mariachi band, festive decorations, and the face-painting booth even offered sugar skull designs. It was not crowded, and we got to see and do everything! My 22-month-old loved jumping on the inflatables, and my 7-year-old couldn't get enough of the zipline. They both had a blast on the slides and visiting the animals. My least favorite part was pushing the stroller through the rocky parking lot, but my favorite part? Taking home a box of their famous fresh donuts. I'll be dreaming about those donuts until Cross E opens again! read more

There is a lot to see and do here. It was my first time here. We came in the fall. My daughter loved the swings and the slides the most. My only complaint is there were so many bugs. They had bug spray out and input some on my daughter and I. We came home with so many mosquito bites. They have some of the best apple cider donuts I've ever had. read more

First things first. Buy tickets online because you can't buy them at the door. This keeps the ranch from being overcrowded. I was having a pretty bad day (I just got laid off from my job) and my husband brought me to Cross E Ranch to cheer me up, and it definitely worked. They have delicious food, adorable animals, and the nicest staff. The first thing we did was dig in to some apple cider donuts that you can only get at the ranch. They were so good that we went back for more! We also tried some caramel apples and roasted nuts which were delicious as well. We didn't try the burgers, but now I'm really regretting that. It'll just be an excuse to go to the Fall Festival next year :) We tried the corn maze (there are three of them) and then walked around to see the animals. They actual let you pet them! We were able to pet goats, cows, donkey, pigs, and the list goes on! They are some of the sweetest animals and you can tell they're well taken care of. If you have a chance, watch the pig racing. It was Mario theme and so much fun :) I'll try to upload the video I took. It was cute to see them run around the Mario track while everyone cheered them on. I felt like a couple of hours was plenty of time for my husband and I to do everything we wanted. We didn't know there was a cover charge of $20 a person, this was a bit wild considering all of the attractions were shut down due to the rain. All we wanted was a donut and cider as well. The $20 was also just for a random Wednesday night, so I don't want to know how much they charge for the weekends. Might be fun for kids/better weather. read more

Beware! Drove all the way on a Saturday at 3pm to go to Grandpas Patch (which is free entry) only for it to be closed. Before going I had browsed the website, and even spoke to someone on the phone regarding the patch and there was no mention of it being closed. The only other option is to go to the North Patch which requires you to pay their $22 admission fee into the festival - seems like a classic bait and switch - how horrible to do this to people, especially parents who could have excited children. Just absolutely disgusting and so disappointing. What a crappy way to run a business. read more

Ooohhhh so sad! We have enjoyed the ranch until the last few years. I think they're getting commercially disconnected from the "why" they open the ranch to the public. Their staff is unprofessional and seem disinterested in the publi and children. Which this is supposed to be all about. In particular Kristy in the pumpkin patch. She snapped at my grandson for throwing a rock into the wheelbarrow. I saw the owner on the way out and she supported Kristy for making the comment to our 8 year old child. She said it's a problem at ranch... (kids are a problem at the ranch???) When we left I asked Kristy to please ask the parent and not scold the child. She became increasingly defensive and called me crazy. I asked her how it was acceptable to speak like that to anyone, let alone a paying patron. In which I became increasingly frustrated and hit her back with a barrage of comments regarding her lack of representation of the ranch. Really it's okay to call a customer crazy??? What a cool place! Cross E Ranch has stuff to do for all ages and really tasty food. They have Rock climbing, big slides, big jumping pits and lots of other cool games. Their tulip festival is free with regular admission because there tulips came in as dwarf size due to the milder winter. It's still great to see. We ordered a burger and I think they use the beef from their working ranch. It was falling apart in the bun it was so tender. They do still require masks because of the Salt Lake mandate. It costs about $14 for adults and 11 for kids in the weekends and it's cheaper during the week. I don't know about everyone else but it has been a fun outdoor event to do and feels semi normal. read more

We came for some fall festivities a while back. It really seems like this place have quite the idea when it comes to Alan event setting. So many food options, it's difficult to decide where to begin. There were chocolate covered apples, hot coco, donuts, and candied nuts of many kinds. Hamburgers, corn dogs, chicken fingers, and hot dogs. The fries in particular were super delicious! The lines appear to be long, but they move through quite quickly. The staff were all working quickly. Our food was quite superb and the donuts were so fresh and delicious. It seemed like it was a covid safe environment without feeling super restrictive and besides the masks, felt like a normal fall activity. The corn maze was cool, but we didn't really get to enjoy it because there was a large group of high school kids taking 'professional' photos for a dance. They were not wearing masks and there were several groups around the ranch. We found them always in the way. Perhaps there needs to be a place specifically for them to take pictures that is out of the way? The pig races were fun to watch and very entertaining. Only lasted about 10-15 min, so it was a perfect amount of time to keep the kids around entertained. There were a few other animals to see as well, some larger pigs, a variety of goats, rabbits, and some donkeys. There were a few machines where you could get some pellets to feed to them. They also had a hay ride even though we didn't do it this time. Many Pumpkins for sale, among other Ranch merchandise. I saw their advertisements for spring tulip fields and other things which I would be interested in. We might even plan to come back next year! read more

Oh. My. Word! THIS is a ranch!!! We came for the fall festival on an early Friday morning the first week in October. (It was our fall break.) Our four kids, ages 3, 7, 8, and 8, had an amazing time! Their highlights were the kiddie coral (zip line, giant slides, and more), pig races, corn maze, and donuts. My husband and I had an equally amazing time. Tickets this year (2020) must be purchased online ahead of time and are limited due to covid. We were impressed with their procedures, and staff even mentioned when masks needed to be work in particular areas. The corn maze was legit. Three levels/ distances ranging from 0.4 miles to 3.something miles! The food was AMAZING (best fries!), and the porta-potty restroom area had real water and soap (which makes momma happy!). We will absolutely be back when we come through on vacation in future years!!!!! read more

We had a great experience visiting here in November! We brought our boys, 1.5 years old, and they loved it. There is such a great variety of activities!! I was wonderfully surprised that they set up stations throughout where they offered free bug spray, since I was completely unprepared for the mosquitoes. There are also free water bottles for guests. This is probably the best corn maze in Utah. They really care about putting on a good show. The maze always seems to be the level of difficulty advertised. You can choose how hard of a maze you want to navigate. The good? You get some really cool extras - this isn't just a corne maze. From pig races to homemade donuts, they offer more of an experience. You can even find a barn full of things like soap and cute house decor. Gorgeous lighting, fires and plenty of seating allow for a seriously good time. The bad? During what one would assume is the busiest time of year - they close early (9) on weekdays. At $15 (this includes a $3 after dark discount) this is not an inexpensive activity. Especially if you have a larger family. While it is understandable that many of the employees have families, or even may be kids who are in school - it's a lot to pay to potentially be so limited in the time you spend in the maze. Not to mention limiting your ability to enjoy the other activities. Once in the maze, keep in mind that you will not be able to finish. They will come in and ensure you hastily exit the maze. We actually felt like we were going pretty fast. At one hour and about twenty-three minutes, we were very close to the exit. Just keep in mind that I would NOT buy tickets after 7 pm, even 6 pm if you'd like to have a treat and explore and really allow yourself time to enjoy yourself. read more

What a great, fun place! I took my family here for some Halloween/fall fun. Let's go over a few things. 1. The Apple cider donuts are delicious. In my opinion, glazed is better than sprinkled with sugar, even though they both come down to being pretty much the same thing. 2. The pig races were so fun! The chicken commentator/announcer was entertaining with a lot of cheesy/funny puns. 3. They sold me on the free Kirkland waters they were handing out. I know, it's $3 for 40 of them so it can't have cost hardly anything, but I still appreciate not having to pay $5 for a single water bottle. I'll be back, this place is fun! read more

Cross E Ranch never disappoints with their season events throughout the year. We went for the baby farm animals and their tulip gardens. It's always fun getting to hang with the goats, they're very interesting animals. Outside of the goats, they're are cows, pigs, chickens, horses, rabbits, donkeys, and sheep. Cross E Ranch is also famous for their homemade donuts, they are so delicious. You can get them two ways but both are equally amazing! There's also other comfort food such as corn dogs and chicken fingers. I usually get the cheeseburger with the waffle fries. One thing to note, the beef is in house and it's very fresh and tasty. You can purchase the beef to take home if you like. The food Isnt the greatest but it does the job when you're here with the kids just hanging out. The tulips they had planted this year suffered from a drought, so they weren't able to grow to their fullest potential but nonetheless, they still looked marvelous. I was able to snap a nice picture of our baby in the gardens that came out wonderful. We've always liked coming here and do it a few times a year as the events change for the seasons. Ok guys this is the place to go with kids. They had TONS of activities. My almost 2 year old was busy with all the activities. Tons of stuff for all ages. We spent 2.5 hours here and could have stayed longer. 3 different corn maze levels. 3 different jumbo slides down a hill. Zip lines, hay bale maze, pig races, farm animals, bounce pad, hay rides, wagon rides, etc, etc, etc. We landed right around opening time and it wasn't too busy. No real wait for anything. But the time we left there were more people but still nothing too crazy. My daughter is almost 2 and she had SO much fun. The food was phenomenal. My hubs is a donut connoisseur and he said the apple cider donuts were the best he'd ever had. I will have to agree. They were cakey but moist, fluffy and dense all at the same time. I would highly suggest that a donut is a must. The rest of the food was stellar as well. They had a great selection of gourmet candy apples that definitely rival the Rocky Mountain brand. They also had a great variety of other foods such as hot dogs, fries, hamburgers etc. We loved that the bottled water was free. We will definitely be back next year read more

We had a great time exploring the Sunflower Patch fields.. gorgeous photo opportunities available , they have a cute baby animal area with llamas, goats, and mini donkeys. They are dog friendly facility as long as your dog is on leash. I would highly recommend to come out and enjoy the great views, cutting your own sunflowers to make an arrangement and get into some fresh air. I'm excited to come back earlier next sunflower season, we will be back this fall for their pumpkin patch . I highly recommend Cross E Ranch to get out and explore a bit. read more

I had an amazing experience at Cross E Ranch yesterday! The staff from the beginning were all so fun and kind-hearted. They have ample parking across the street dedicated to the ranch. There is no fee to park. The fresh hamburger was so delicious! The fries were also very well seasoned. We also enjoyed one of their Oreo Milk Cow caramel apples which they cut for us so that it would be easier to eat. We also went to their donut stand right before closing and paid for one donut to taste, but they gave us a half dozen - so nice! We tasted both the apple cider glazed donut and the cinnamon sugar donut and they were both warm and delicious! So flaky and flavorful. Perfect ending to the day. We also paid for the calf feeding experience and the goat feeding experience - both were so fun and so different! The instructors explained the process so well and we had such a fun time trying something new. I definitely recommend Cross E Ranch for a fun time with family and/or friends. read more

We love Cross E Ranch! If you haven't been yet, you have been missing out! We come at least once a season (baby animals in the spring and pumpkin patch in the fall) for the past 2 years. Bring your appetite, the burgers, donuts, kettle corn, and caramel apples are all staples for each visit! I'm thrilled that this place is doing well enough to be able to add more activities, benches, picnic tables, etc. every year. The gravel rocks throughout the farm making pushing a stroller tough, so consider bringing a larger wheeled jogging stroller or sturdy wagon. They have some wagons you can borrow, but I think on busy days they might be hard to acquire. There are port-a-potty's, so be prepared to change diapers on a bench or ground. Bring a blanket to stretch out in a grassy area. read more

We discovered this lovely farm this year when we attended their sunflower festival. It's easy to find, well organized, lots to do and there were many varieties of sunflower to walk around and discover. It was so peaceful walking through the rows, taking pictures. There were drinks and baked goods and goats to pet. There were even strategically placed benches for good pictures. The staff were very friendly and talked a bit with us about their farm. We are hoping to check out their Christmas light festival next! read more

Cross E Ranch is a really fun authentic place to go to get a taste of the Utah countryside within minutes from the city. The fall festival is especially fun with tons of things to do for all ages. They have everything from a corn pit to big slides to corn mazes and rubber duck races. They also have a little tractor ride for kids and a hay ride to see the vows in the pasture, both of which are included in the price. They sell burgers made of their own black Angus beef and they are really really good. They also have donuts that are homemade that are on point. Perhaps taking a nod from Wheeler Farm, this place has opened itself up a bit to the public. There are lots of places to spend money (and bring plenty of it, if you're coming here and think you might want to buy stuff), and a lot of stuff focused at kids, perhaps the majority of it focused at kids. It's hard to see this quite as a look at an operating cattle ranch, which is how they're semi-trying to portray it, but there is a solid amount of farm-related stuff, even if it clearly is still a work in development. I would say if you're from the city and not familiar with farms, it will go over a lot better, as this is a small taste, a very minor slice of what the life entails. For those of us who are more familiar with farms, there is small interest. Yes, baby animals are cute and most of the animals there are curious with people, rather than angry or fearful with them, and that part is all to the good. If you're not a kid who can go on the mini-zip line or the hill slide or watch the pig race or wander the corn maze or torment the chickens in the pen in the middle of it all or jump on the bounce pad or get your shoes full of seed corn, you have ropes to try to pull dead engine tractors (which no one on a farm ever actually does, though this may be of interest to bodybuilder or strongmen types), you can observe the very nicely laid out Honey Pot arrangement, wander through the shops (almost all are selling farm-specific goods, which is a smart idea) and go on a "hay ride", which is sitting in the back of a wagon as a tractor pulls you through a field to go look at a small herd of Black Angus cattle. That makes it more of a tour than an actual hay ride, it should be noted. But, I don't hate. Family farms are getting clanged right and left and this one is probably in the cross hairs, both through the attrition that is slowly absorbing many other family farms and, specific to this one, urban sprawl. Making the ranch into more of an amusement park may do well to help fend off both of those threats and good on them for trying to get ahead of that. It's just the halfway nature of it that kind of throws me, I guess, but I'm the wrong audience, as I've lived and worked on farms in the past. It reminds me mostly of that lollipop commercial, where the owl takes 3 licks, calls it good and then just bites the candy, if instead of him biting the candy, the kid angrily takes back the sucker and punches the owl and the owl then has to consider the entire flavor of the sucker based only on the 3 licks. So, this is cool to go to once, particularly if you're unfamiliar, but interested in farms and want to dip your toe in and check one out but don't know how to go about it. I understand they change it yearly, so it may be even something to consider annually, but for those who are familiar, once again, YMMV. read more

We went for the sunflower festival. I thought it was a creative way to deal with what COVID has wrought upon us and them. We went around sundown and it was beautiful. They had a very organized in and out process. Each ticket gets you one flower stem-- some of those stems are as big as tree trunks. I liked the "did you know" signs and the sign that basically said, "hey man, this is our first attempt at this-- we are learning," because I'm sure a lot of people commented on the yet to be opened sunflowers (having that entire field open at once would be stunning)!! We were happy to support the farm. They had a few animals out to pet-- I am super hopeful that is not their normal pens as they are WAY too small for the animals and that would be disappointing. read more
