I do wish we would have had a fuller understanding of the boat buying process before committing, but overall very happy with our experience. We love our boat and Steve gave us a lesson on docking and steering before we took off into the sunset.

This results in Much Higher Brokerage Fees,Transportation Costs and Liability to the Seller and Buyer. This Cost is usually reflected in the Listing Price The owner from Canada can't bring the boat to the US to sell. He can bring it to the border but you as the buyer must bring it into the US. If the boat, motor and trailer were built in the US, there are no duties or taxes to bring it back to the US if YOU are the one bringing it in. If you hire a transporter, the entire deal changes with Customs into a commercial import. If you are personally not with the boat and hire someone to bring it in, US Customs then wants you to hire an import broker to handle the importing of the boat and the entire deal turns into a commercial import. You'll then be required to pay import fees as well as brokerage fees on top of the transport. There are no brokers available to help you on the weekends due to their accounting process so Customs pretty much have to wait until Monday to get the boat into the US. You can get a temporary Durable Power of Attorney for your transporter which is the equivalent to you being there. Most Canadian Insurance Companies will not Underwrite a Insurance Policy for 2nd Party Transportation.

My parents were customers long before I was, and that kind of multi-generation loyalty doesn't happen by accident -- it happens because they consistently show up, care, and do right by people. Every single visit reminds us why we keep coming back. They're knowledgeable, fair, and genuinely proactive about keeping our boat in great shape. Whether it's routine maintenance, a surprise issue, or just a question we're trying to sort out, they take the time to explain things clearly and make sure we're taken care of. We never feel rushed or talked down to -- just supported. Huge thanks to Jeff, Dan, Wendell, and Jenny. Each of them brings something special to the experience: professionalism, warmth, and that rare "we've got you" attitude that makes all the difference. You can tell they take real pride in their work and in the relationships they build with customers. If you're looking for a marine team you can trust for the long haul -- the kind that remembers you, stands behind their work, and treats you like more than a number -- Bayside Marine is it. We're grateful for them and wouldn't go anywhere else.
